Adviser: Romney "shellshocked" by loss
CBS ^

Posted on 11/08/2012 3:14:29 PM PST by Arthurio

Mitt Romney's campaign got its first hint something was wrong on the afternoon of Election Day, when state campaign workers on the ground began reporting huge turnout in areas favorable to President Obama: northeastern Ohio, northern Virginia, central Florida and Miami-Dade.

Then came the early exit polls that also were favorable to the president.

But it wasn't until the polls closed that concern turned into alarm. They expected North Carolina to be called early. It wasn't. They expected Pennsylvania to be up in the air all night; it went early for the President.

After Ohio went for Mr. Obama, it was over, but senior advisers say no one could process it.

"We went into the evening confident we had a good path to victory," said one senior adviser. "I don't think there was one person who saw this coming."

Keep hearing that our votes were ‘deleted...uh, doesn’t pass the logic test. First, to delete our votes where it matters, it would have to be done in heavy R precints. Pretty sure those would have R poll watchers all over it. Heck, my precinct in liberal N Cali had Rs there. Second, O voters didn’t show up in much larger numbers than ours...were their votes deleted, too?

Obama isn't that bad a guy?? Are you kidding about that Muslim socialist. He is as arrogant and narcisstic as they come and he hates whites. Remember how his grandmother was a “typical white person” I hope that isn't really what you consider "that bad of a guy".

I think Romney had it a month ago, but then the MSM went into overdrive and started painting a positive picture of the economy, and then Sandy and Fatso Christie sealed the deal. A lot of voters waited until the very end, and they almost all broke for Obama.

There were a lot of polls showing an Obama win for weeks....just not the polls that Drudge would run on his page every day. Ras & Gallup were a joke this year & those 2 happened to be all that Drudge would run with.

I didn’t support Newt, I voted for Santorum in the primary. But whoever was the Pubbie nominee would have been demonized. If we had run Mother Theresa, the Dems would have dug up stuff on her. The problem is the nominee has to be an educator and an attacker. No nice guys or gals wanted.

They didn’t see it coming because they are good, trusting souls who could not sense how determined the leftist, thug, cheats were to steal this election. I saw it firsthand. Disgusting.

something just doesn’t smell right here. something was rigged somewhere along the way. OTOH, I sense that the President is himself somewhat bewildered. I thought that he really did not want to win, and now is reallt flyinh by the seat of his pants. Watch all the other thugs flee D.C.

Instead voters agreed to hand over our country to this socialist azzhole and his slobbering cronies. I don’t know if we as conservatives will ever get it back

Buck up people!!

While I agreed that Tuesdays results are disheartening, all is not lost.

Yes things are going to get worse, possibly, likely going to get worse.

But we know our ideals and principles work and theirs do not.

In the end our ideals will prevail.

The only question is when....

I was thinking today that is it - hate sells!
All the hatred for whites, the ‘rich’, and whatever they
could dream up.

I look at a lefty now and all I can see and think is:
selfish! To give a hoot about big bird and birth control
is the height of selfishness.

The left is so wrapped up in the sex part of life, ie. gays, lady parts and all that nonsense. I think someone should figure out how to explain to them who they just invited into their beds!

I posted on FB that anybody who voted for BHO please defriend me now. I proceeded to unfriend anybody that I knew voted for him. I have made it plain that I do not want anybody around me that voted for this man anywhere around me and I don’t care who they are. It appears I saw a lot of posts like mine on FB. So, no, you are not alone in your feelings.

The only solace I take away is the knowledge that 2014 is going to be the “Mother of All Bloodbaths” for the Rats.

I found it very humbling for me.

I was a Newt guy and I flat couldn’t stand Romney. Even after Newt was out, I insisted that I would never vote for Romney.

As it turns out, I actually learned to like Mitt and his adorable wife. I figured that I wouldn’t like some of his policies once he was in office, but I have come to think of him as a good and kind man and a man who loves our country.

As the weeks leading up to the election became days, I forced myself not to get excited. On election night, about an hour before the returns began to come in, I saw hope for our country, I saw hope for my grandchildren and I saw hope for my ‘golden years’.

When it all crashed, this tough old man took it hard. I have a bad heart, so when I felt those all too familiar things going on in my chest, I shut it all off and waited for my Bride to get home from work.... her presence has calmed me for over 40 wonderful years.... so I knew I needed her more than 911. I rested and I prayed. My dog always knows when something is bothering me, so he watched over me and did his best to make me know that he loves me. I do believe in God, but I am not what one would call a “bible thumper”. Fact is, “bible thumpers” get on my nerves. I didn’t pray for me, I prayed for Mitt and my country that I love so much.

I feel very bad for Mitt and his Ann.... this loss must be very hard on them. I hope it doesn’t negatively impact Ann’s health.

I don’t think I will get to vote for a president again and I know that I will not live long enough to see my country heal and that breaks my heart.

I think I have become boring, so I’ll shut up now.

Voting for their free stuff just makes them
the party of the selfish. I’m so damn done with these
leeches. And equally tired of the old meme that conservatives are greedy - somebody best figure out how
to flip that false message on its head.

"It's called having your head up your behind and not knowing what you're doing."

Sorta. In the Mid 90s I ran a Hobby shop that catered to the crowd that played Magic the Gathering. (A very popular card game that is usually played against a single opponent.) Its sorta like Chess on steroids.

When we taught people to play we hand to constantly remind people that "you must play both sides of the table"

Romney made the classic mistake of not playing on Obama's side of the table. He had no idea how much ground game Obama had going in Ohio and other battleground states. He thought he had the bigger machine. They were dwarfed by Obama on the ground!

We are all missing the point in forming a circular firing squad against each other now. The hard truth is that Reagan himself could not win with today’s voters. With all the the external factors not present this go around, this election result showed us the true character of the American people, circa 2012. There is as John Edwards said, two Americas. One that we inhabit is hard working and self reliant. The other we never saw coming. The other wants nothing to do with hard work, they just want their Obamaphones, free birth control with their part time job at Starbucks, bottomless EBT cards, unemployment benefits for a lifetime. These people are too lazy to pack a bologna sandwich to send their kid to school with. This election, a hard slap in the face, just showed us how big the underclass has become, tipping into a permanent majority. How we change this, I do not have a clue yet, but we better all think hard or a new Dark Age will surely begin.

Damn right!!

There are “unexploded ordinance” that had Romney won would have exploded in his lap.

The “fiscal cliff” is one.

Even if the Dems get their tax increase, it will be too little too late. It wouldn't solve the debt wouldn't prevent the double dip recession we all know is coming.

And O’s policies are going to do nothing to stop them. And he doesn't have a GOP congress to rescue him from his foolishness like Newt and his House did for Clinton nor doe Obama had a “Peace Dividend” to hide his spending.

Not saying things are going to be pleasant but we will be here to pick up the pieces. As we always have....

These advisors did understand the early voting scam .
And ignore the fight fire with fire demand of early voter scam .
It rained in fl on Tuesday morning which kept older folks away .
The same union goons can jump from
State to star and vote multiple times in dem run precinct in each contested state .
Early voters is the dem voter bank and must be stopped .
My brother saw the attempts to illegally vote in central Fl but they went to the wrong precinct and not a dem run one !
Fl needs to stop it so does Ohio and WI .

Thank you newt for voter motor disaster too !
