We are all missing the point in forming a circular firing squad against each other now. The hard truth is that Reagan himself could not win with today’s voters. With all the the external factors not present this go around, this election result showed us the true character of the American people, circa 2012. There is as John Edwards said, two Americas. One that we inhabit is hard working and self reliant. The other we never saw coming. The other wants nothing to do with hard work, they just want their Obamaphones, free birth control with their part time job at Starbucks, bottomless EBT cards, unemployment benefits for a lifetime. These people are too lazy to pack a bologna sandwich to send their kid to school with. This election, a hard slap in the face, just showed us how big the underclass has become, tipping into a permanent majority. How we change this, I do not have a clue yet, but we better all think hard or a new Dark Age will surely begin.

Reagan won in a era before that brilliant early voting idea and voter motors laws were passed !
Both need to be stopped !

"Reagan ...could not win"

That may be true, but we now know two and one half million less Pubbies voted for Romney than they did for McCain. Why? Sure, the demographics are not in our favor, and it might not have made a difference anyway who we ran. But whoever we run, that candidate cannot just announce, like Romney did, that he has a better plan and the other guy is a failure. He or she has to explain things and be willing to tell the truth about the socialist opponent damn the consequences.
