As the party figures out how to attract Hispanics, women and young people, Republicans may look toward Christie as a frontrunner for the 2016 nomination. He leads a blue and diverse state, walks the walk on bipartisanship and could steer the party away from the far right.

I am suspicious that he was coerced into it for FEMA dollars for his state, but that does not excuse this act of treachery.

If Christie wants it, he will be the nominee in 2016—and he will lose because he is Romney/McCain + 100 lbs.
I will be very surprised if he’s still in office by the end of next year. The GOP may primary him and, even if they don’t, his new democrat party “pals” will certainly run someone against him. In a state that blue he’s toast. Just look at Scott Brown.
Maybe when the jobs vanish and the economy collapses, enough people will come to their senses to make a difference
