If Romney loses, he'll be a victim of Bush's unpopularity, just like Landon in 36 was defeated because of the public's continued resentment of Herbert Hoover.

It's going to take a number of years for the GOP to get out from under the unpopularity of George Bush and his failed presidency.

That’s freaking retarded. The man’s name hasn’t been on a ballot in nearly 10 years.

History will be far kinder to George W. Bush than the present. BO has pretty much pissed away all of the advantages which George W. Bush’s good policies have brought us and he has doubled down on his worst policies.

If Romney loses, blame Herbert Hoover.

Landon was defeated in 1936 because he did not campaign. In Fact in 1940 Wilkie ran against the New Deal when the bigger issue was war.

GWB’s biggest lapse: he did nothing to defend the Republican brand.

If so, the American people have become purely ignorant. Obama has more than enough record to defeat. If he wins, it is no more Bush’s fault than the annual Trillion dollar deficits we have now have.

Well, I think GWB is a good man. But I have to reluctantly admit that President Barack Obama would not have been possible if it were not for Bush 43. Can we move on now?

Complete BS. If this were true, the 2010 massacre of the Dims wouldn't have happened.

George Bush inspired me to come to America and be more American than liberals.

As a former Kanadian, I hated my own country and whomever hated Bush was my sworn enemy. Odumbo’s presidency makes Bush’s presidency look like Reagan’s.

bs. if romney loses it’s because 47% of americans pay no federal income tax and are interested in getting more money from the 53% that do. Cobble that together with Obama being black and getting 985 of that vote, rich liberals and hispanics who have decided to become members of the dem plantation and america is in deep kimshi.

Yep, those days of 5% unemployment and 1.84/gallon gas were sheer hell on earth.

If Romney loses, it will be due to his liberalism.

Get Real

G W Bush is and was a ten times better man than the president that preceded him and the one that came after him.

So now even the GOP candidate should blame the GOP former president for potentially losing?

What nonsense.

Bush was a great president and I despise how republicans do not defend him.

Clinton has 70 percent approval while bush has about 30.

He fought 2 wars successfully. He removed Charles Taylor. Ended genocide of south Sudan.

Shifted oil imports from ME to north America.

Kept America safe.

Prevented thousands of deaths during Katrina.

Stopped saddam Hussein.

Brought the deficit down to 260 billion. Got unemployment down to 4.7.

He saved gm and Chrysler and got that money back.

Memories of the junior Bush economic hangover haunt not only President Barack Obama, still struggling to recover from it, but also the Republican who wants Mr. Bush's old job.

Economic hangover?
If Barky had somehow maintained the economy and the employment where Bush left it, he would be a shoo-in for reelection.
Obama owns this recession 100% and if he wins we are going back down.

I cant defend GWB’s legacy however the GOP has made a ton of screw-ups since he left office, the most damaging ones the past two years.
GWB’s legacy is not helpful but he is not the sole cause of the GOP’s current problems, especially when he had the good sense to stay out of sight.

On day one of 2009 the Republican minority in congress should have purged their failed leadership. That is what I was saying. They needed to show they learned something.

And for a nominee they (GOP) picked someone who appears to be a Bush clone.

Lastly, Obama has not won yet. Best to save these for if that happens.
