'We Do Not Have Control' Say Cops As Free Gas Truck Stops Become Chaos (Obama's NYC Gas Giveaway)

An effort to give away free fuel across the city began unraveling Saturday amid reports of miles-long lines, people re-selling cans of gas for up to $200 and police admitting they have "lost control of the situation" at one location.

At the Brooklyn Armory in Crown Heights, desperation turned to anger as the line of cars waiting for fuel stretched for miles.

Those not waiting for gas about 3:45 p.m. were told to keep away from the head of the swelling line by one police officer, who stated that "we do not have control over the situation."

Some in line even reported seeing others filling up cans and then turning around and selling them for up to $150 each. Fights nearly broke out over accusations of line cutting.

At one point, three women were removed from the line by police for allegedly cutting, sparking a shouting match that continued to ratchet up the tensions.

Duomo and Christie have both introduced measures that are utterly moronic and the complete opposite of any rational response to the temporary shortage of available gasoline.

It is not the citizens' fault that these morons are abusing their emergency powers and playing with people's lives and livelihoods.

I’m pretty surprised that there haven’t been riots.

"..others filling up cans and then turning around and selling them for up to $150 each."

Finally, some entrepreneurial spirit in 'rat country.

Blacks are notorious for cutting lines at events. They simply pick up on a black person way in front and move to him/her claiming the person was holding their place in line. The black person at the head of the line will immediately play along because the cutters joining him/her is black. Whites cannot complain and no one wants to do anything about it without risking a riot. Fast forward ten years, blacks become use to cutting in line and in a SHTF situation will become a source for disorder in an emergency. This is why whites need to put their foot down early and bite the problem at the root and not wait 10+ years later to deal with this behavior.

Some will get the gas and resell it, some will get the gas even if they don’t need it, and the net result will be those who need it most will get screwed. “

And some will put gas in bleach bottles and blow themselves up. Yikes! It’s freeeeee! Gimme sum!

This is going to last a long time, too. It’s going to look like a zombie movie in about three weeks. The longer it takes to dry out the businesses and residences, the more mold and stink is going to invade. Flooded heaters and wring have to be repaired or replaced or you are going to have a lot of fires when the electric comes back. No sewers... People are going to become ill. Weak people (the young and the old) will go fast.

To top it off, you have union thugs chasing away restoration workers from outside their turf, if they don’t cough up some protection money (union dues). The recovery will not happen with this selfish, immoral mentality and culture dominating the city.

In addition, you have entitled, envious minded people who are nuts and make it dangerous to work in certain areas. Check out any Obama rally to see the insane mentality that will tip itself over into ravishing insanity.

Interesting that the hispanic guy who was mentioned in the article, was the one worker who needed gas to continue his service of pumping out flooded houses. ofcourse, the selfish man who “helped’ him out had to cut into the gas he needed for vital, life saving work. In Texas after the Ike flooding and wind damage, it was white and hispanic men who worked their fannies off and saved the day. The supervisors of crews knew what to do from experience and the crews worked HARD and long hours for people.

Woe to New York.

Well, Whites and Hispanics in the Texas are not quite that passive, hence Blacks in Texas are not that aggressive. Someone could get shot.

One thing I’ve noticed about line cutting and the like: If a person thinks he’s doing it “for somebody else,” he has fewer qualms about cheating. The wife, the kids, the ailing mother . . .

Absent any accurate filtering system, there’s no way to tell who needs the gas more.

People should realize this before there’s unnecessary bloodshed.

Well, it seems to have worked in Newark. If we had the right kind of leader, it could happen.

Back in 1973 I had a Middle School class in "social studies". Prior to that, they always called it "History". Anyway, the thing I really remember about that year was that the teacher kept giving us morally ambiguous situations, and kept trying to convince us that stealing was perfectly OK, if -- let's say -- your child needed medicine. Or that cannibalism was a fine thing -- if you were in a rowboat in the middle of the ocean.

I was having none of it. There is Right and there is Wrong, and these things are NOT situational.

The teacher disliked me quite a lot -- I kept getting in the way of the Leftist propaganda.

There’s a place for TRUE situational ethics. Pushing your way to the bar because you’re getting a drink for a lady is not that place.

10 gallons of gas weighs about 80 pounds.

Closer to 60 pounds, actually.
