Everything is under control. Your needs are met.

The President visited.

Gee where is that vaunted "Red Cross" all the media whores were raving about, with their cash instead of old fashioned food and water?

I cannot shape coherent comments about this disaster, part of me wants to sympathize with the victims, part of me wants to say something else as they made their bed there, voted there, and are dying there.
Its a bloody shame we cannot get Romney into executive position just hours after he does win the election just so we can get a real leader instead of a falsetto POTUS.

That’s sad. Sorry Staten Island is going through so much.

Wondering how all those electric cars are doing in those areas? At this point a horse would work best.

“People need gloves. People need blankets and you can get to these homes. The question is, where is the government assistance?“

It is amazing to me how dependent these people are on the government. You never hear stories like this when more powerful storms hit Florida, the Carolinas, or the Gulf Coast.

The feds just drive by with their clipboards

There's a reason it's called 'federal bureaucracy'.

Anyone who expected them to actually DO something is just kidding themselves.

In the Texas fires and Hurricane Ivan we mostly helped ourselves for many days.

Social networking via Facebook is a great tool if you can get the efforts focused to one or two sites and then get them publicized. Thelocal law enforcement and government officials need to join in on this ASAP.

We had a network that posted a list on the hour of what was needed. Things were dropped off at a collection center outside the disaster zone, repackaged, palleted and then trucked into the disaster area. We moved thousands of tons of materials this way. We only accepted packaged things to eat and clothing was washed before distribution if it was not new.

There are really only a few things that are essential to living... think Maslow... food / water, clothing, shelter... the rest can wait.

This is essentially all the federal government’s fault.

When they say leave, they need to explain what they mean.

leave [leev]

Show IPA verb, left, leav·ing.

verb (used with object)

1. to go out of or away from, as a place: to leave the house.
2. to depart from permanently; quit: to leave a job.

I feel so sorry for those people on the eastern seaboard who didn’t understand do to confusing instructions with such complicated words.

Well, it sounds like they are finally getting busy instead of staying in what’s left of their houses, waiting for FEMA and suffering.

Finding dead bodies after gulf storms, that is a sad occurance that will happen for a long time to come.

I wonder if the neighbors have figured out who stayed through the storm and is missing yet.

Anyone who can, should get in there and do something to help these people. Sorry to say, they need to move out of the flood waters and rebuild as commuters once electric and sewers are restored. Renters and people with no flood insurance, need to pull up roots and relocate.

Sadly, the liberals are going to try and block their return for agenda 21. That could be why the state and feds are ignoring them.

Never forget edge weapons and hammer-type’weapons. At the same time have gear that can help protect you from them as well.

In reality this is what awaits any part of the country, we are seeing exactly what was predicted would occur. If you think it ain’t coming to your area you’re naive, these people didn’t either. “Not this bad” is their rationalization. Stock up on fuel now. Hydrogen peroxide. White vinegar. Canned goods with meat and beans in them. Get stuff you eat normally and rotate into your supplies. Batteries. Extra clothing, maybe a small pocket sewing machine. Non-power hand tools.

Use coupons and shop on deal days to lower costs further.

The skinny president and the fat governor said everything was under control because they hugged each other......aaaah. Just think that sweet thought when it gets dark again, and colder, and your children are crying for hunger.

Government is so totally worthless and is paying off the connected with trillions of dollars that belong to us.

Family members have told us that over 80 have been found dead on the Island.
I have not heard this any where else.

Did I read that Staten Island is about 4 feet above sea level? If that is true why didn’t these people evacuate?

They were told for a week that the biggest baddest storm ever was headed right for them and it went right were they were told it would go.
