Nice “Turd in the Punchbowl” mentality.

Did you see larger ones for Obama in ‘08 also? How about ‘12?

Different era. Palin was a novelty and people generally vote for the top of the ticket. These crowds aren’t there for Paul Ryan.

Yeah, but she was running with John “the fundamentals of the economy is just fine” McCain.

But one very Big difference. Obama only drew 2800 in Franklin Co. Ohio this week. That means much.

Yes, but in 2008 the hype around Obama was a tsunami, and he had gigantic crowds of his own.

After 4 years of this clown — not so much.

I don't know that they were larger rallies, I can't remember. But, I do sort of temper my enthusiasm reminding myself of the crowds she was drawing and I was convinced this silent majority was going to come out and save the day. Never happened.

Though Sara had a giant, cumbersome anchor attached to her--John McCain.

This just feels different, IMO.

That might be true, but it was McCain who blew it away. Romney has campaigned well. Even when he was behind (supposedly), I felt that he was not alarmed. He was not going to panic. The thought that kept coming back to me was what Bush said, “I trust the American people to make the right decision.” I don’t think Romney would state that out loud, as he would be linked with Bush immediately, but I am certain he felt that same way.

Yeah, and eight days before the 2008 election - 8 days! - McCain told everyone that we had nothing to fear from an Obama presidency! Yeah, that sure helped.

Sarah Palin was announced as the VP pick on August 29, 2008, for two weeks after that announcement McCain led Obama for the first time, and then people realized that, “Oh yeah”, they're voting for the top of the ticket, and two weeks after announcing Palin, McCain lost the lead and never recovered.

This is a far, far different campaign. It ain't some 78 year old white-haired old man against the “cool” black guy.

This is “Obama-the-destroyer” against a very smart, well-spoken and experienced businessman.

Game over.
