But here is my concern. I traveled 300 miles to come here to Ohio. I am giving 100%. I am a social conservative. Did I hear Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan speak even a single sentence about the right to life at the rally yesterday? No. Did I hear a word about the protection of marriage? No.

I understand your position and sympathize. I think Romney is focused on uniting America. We have now had decades of "diversity" and division in America. It is high time to focus on the things that we hold in common, not on the things that divide us.

Growing up in American in the 50's and 60's I experienced a united, decent and God loving country. Viet Nam and the Democrats changed that. I want my united country back.

I mean no offense to you, but we have bigger issues at stake RIGHT NOW than abortion, and I write that as a person 100% anti-abortion in all instances.

We have run up a National Debt (nearing $17 Trillion) that exceeds our entire GDP. We have unfunded obligations exceeding $200 Trillion. We have an Ant-American, (not so) crypto-Marxist President intent on turning our country Totalitarian state.

Job One should be obvious.

“I can’t believe FR today is the same site that was purging people for supporting this man just mere months ago, calling him a bloody abortionist. Bizarro.”
******
Its quite easy to attack someone for not being the perfect conservative. However, it matters not if you can’t get elected and into a position to advance some conservative principles and get the country back on track, which I believe Mitt will do.

Some on FR need to consider the terrible personal toll this will all have on Mitt and his family if he wins. The corrupt MSM and their fellow liberal travellers will go after him with a vengence for deposing their messiah. Their visceral hatred for GWB will pale in comparison to the intensity of their anger toward Mitt.

We must support Mitt in order for him to save the country from an almost certain political, social and economic disaster. In a very real sense, we are not giving Mitt a chance, he is giving us a chance.

I saw lots of even larger rallies for Sarah Palin in 2008.

Show us.

Brilliant ad!

The more they show that lying shifty eyed Obama in context, the better Romney looks.

Thank you for flaging my utter idiocy in not correctly reading the post I commented on.

Don't be so hard on yourself, I think a lot of us are getting sick waiting on these last few days!

I have decided to go volunteer in IN for Richard Mourdock. Maybe this is the wrong decision, but Romney’s campaign office here in Kenwood (Cincinnati) would not even let me look up Mourdock’s campaign website when I was deciding where to go.

I drove 300 miles to be here, volunteered all of yesterday, and they said no because they wanted me in Ohio. There was no thank you for making phone calls and knocking on doors yesterday. They could not do me the smallest favor. I paid my own hotel and gas and everything except one bottled water.

Finally got ahold of the internet back in my hotel room and the Indiana Republican party was willing to get me a free hotel room. I said no but they are much more decent than the Romneybots.

Maybe I am making a mistake, but I do not need to volunteer at all. The vast majority of Freepers do not volunteer for Romney and that does not make them bad. We need to make Harry Reid minority leader in the Senate too, and that is what I will work for now. See you tomorrow, I am leaving now for Indiana.

That might be true, but it was McCain who blew it away. Romney has campaigned well. Even when he was behind (supposedly), I felt that he was not alarmed. He was not going to panic. The thought that kept coming back to me was what Bush said, “I trust the American people to make the right decision.” I don’t think Romney would state that out loud, as he would be linked with Bush immediately, but I am certain he felt that same way.

“It’s like Rush’s method for success - he says what his listeners are thinking.”

I said the same thing to my sister yesterday. She was accusing me of being brainwashed by Rush. I informed her that it’s not a matter of his telling me what to think but that he says exactly what I’m thinking. In fact very often I think if I could get thru, this is what I’d say—and he utters the exact thought. It’s scary sometimes.:)

This morning Huckabee was on FNC and said he can feel the electricity in Romney’s campaign. That’s exactly what I felt in the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati on Halloween night in 2000 when W walked out onto the field, two days before the election. In fact, I felt it standing in line waiting to go in and knew he was going to be our next President.

Huckabee said he believes this is going to be like the Chick Fil A moment. That there is going to be an amazing outpouring of support for Mitt Romney which is going to surprise everyone. Except us, of course!

By the way, I watched last night’s rally online last night before realizing it was on C-span—I checked too early and it wasn’t on. I recorded it later. The video is available to watch at cspan.org

I am a vintage social conservative also and if we elect Romney/Ryan, they will turn this country back to social conservative ideas, like we had in the 50’ and 60’s, where the people are reawakened to the concept of marriage between a man and a woman and to the truth that human rights begin when human lives begin, ie conception.
