A special edition of Nightline chronicles a resurgent Ku Klux Klan, with rare access inside Klan groups in both Mississippi and Virginia. Over four months, the Nightline team chronicled the reinvigorated white supremacist group, witnessed secretive cross burnings rituals and rallies, met the people beneath the trademark white hoods, and talked to them about their rituals and message of hate. Cynthia McFaddens exclusive report airs on NIGHTLINE on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26 (11:35 pm ET) on the ABC Television Network. A portion of McFaddens report will also air on WORLD NEWS (6:30 pm ET)

Exactly my thoughts. And it will seep into the AP, Gannet, major publishers just in time for the election. Honestly, if there ARE violent reactions to the election, the media should be held responsible for inflaming them.

I question the timing. Any mention of Sheets Byrd?
Hey, Shyteline! You want to see hate? Try attending a poofter rally. Or walk a union picket line. Hang out with the Black Panthers for an afternoon. Or just take a walk through Philadelphia or East St Louis or Detroit or Bed-Sty or ...
Spare me the phony outrage. You’re only looking to justify your OWN hate.
Hard to argue with that.
And the other half by undercover Homeland Security. Nobody with more than one brain cell is going to join any of these groups.
A few years ago, I got into an argument with a liberal moonbat on a political forum. She claimed that the KKK and other white supremacist groups were a far greater threat to the US than Muslim terrorists (this was AFTER 9-11). I presented her with statistics of the thousands of Americans killed by Muslims since the 1970s, and the lunatic refused to budge----she maintained the KKK had killed more people.
Nightline is now the highest rated late night show. So what is ABC doing? Moving it to after Kimmel’s weak show.
They have to have the government people to plan and build bombs.
I remember a NIGHTLINE UFO special where they talked about the aliens our government imprisoned, that they liked strawberry ice cream...
>>Will it be a 2 part series with the second part chronicling the inner workings of the New Black Panthers?
Exactly what I was thinking.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not defending the KKK. But this is like all the race-baiting selective news. Black on white violence is rarely reported and is always hushed up. Any white on black violence (even if it’s fake, like the Louisiana woman who set herself on fire) leads as long as it is useful in stirring up racial divisiveness.
Maybe they could investigate not only the New Black Panthers, but the NAACP, the CBC, BET, La Raza, and many, many other organizations that promote one race at the expense of the rest.
“rare”???
Nothing rare about it. This is common and predictable.
The klan trademarked the hoodie? How apropos.
On another note, it has been alleged that the FBI was complicit in much of the violence and killing during the civil rights struggle.

The Informant:
The FBI, the Ku Klux Klan, and the Murder of Viola Liuzzo (Google eBook)
Gary May
1 Review
Yale University Press, May 11, 2005 - 448 pages
In The Informant, historian Gary May reveals the untold story of the murder of civil rights worker Viola Liuzzo, shot to death by members of the violent Birmingham Ku Klux Klan at the end of Martin Luther Kings historic Voting Rights March in 1965. The case drew national attention and was solved almost instantly, because one of the Klansman present during the shooting was Gary Thomas Rowe, an undercover FBI informant. At the time, Rowes information and subsequent testimony were heralded as a triumph of law enforcement. But as Gary May reveals in this provocative and powerful book, Rowes history of collaboration with both the Klan and the FBI was far more complex.Based on previously unexamined FBI and Justice Department Records, The Informant demonstrates that in their ongoing efforts to protect Rowes cover, the FBI knowingly became an accessory to some of the most grotesque crimes of the Civil Rights era—including a vicious attack on the Freedom Riders and perhaps even the bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church.A tale of a renegade informant and an intelligence system ill-prepared to deal with threats from within, The Informant offers a dramatic and cautionary tale about what can happen when secret police power goes unchecked.
I am glad this was posted here.
With all thats going down over Libya, THIS is what the J-whore-nalists are covering tonight?!
My contempt for the MSM is indescribable. Or perhaps it is describable, but I would be banned for attempting it.
