Obama leads in Florida by 1 point (SurveyUSA)
Survey USA ^ | 10/20/2012

Posted on 10/20/2012 5:25:33 PM PDT by Joe27

In an election for President of the United States in Florida today, 10/19/12, Barack Obama is a nominal, statistically insignificant, single point ahead of Mitt Romney, 47% to 46%, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WFLA-TV in Tampa. Compared to an identical SurveyUSA poll 5 weeks ago, Romney is up 2 points, Obama is down 1 point. Florida's critical 29 electoral votes remain up for grabs, 18 days till votes are counted. Romney has gained ground in each of 3 SurveyUSA tracking polls going back to 07/20/12. Obama's once 12-point lead among Florida women has been reduced to 4 points. The contest is tied among men. Narrowly, Cubans vote Republican. Decisively, non-Cuban Hispanics vote Democrat. Voters under age 50 vote for Obama. Voters age 50+ vote for Romney. Whites vote for Romney 5:4. Moderates vote for Obama 5:4. Independents break 44% to 40% for Romney.

What wonderful news. Now, if those 18 convert others, we have a pyramid effect. Good job!

Live from FL: Just spoke with my low information, high emotion dem voter mother from Florida. (we three boys are conservative - in a late night talk one night a few years ago - she burst into tears that her sons had turned out ‘so cruel and uncaring.’ :-)
She opened the political conversation on this call, without prompting she says:

“My God in just the 2 mile stretch between town and our condo, there are only 2 Obama signs. There were about 40 Romney signs.”

So I guess in that stretch of not-wealthy-nor-poor (i.e. middle class) territory, the polling has Romney up by a hard 91%. Then, assuming the non-sign people will break to the challenger, I think we can call it 97% to 3% along that stretch.

She is a contracted juvenile probation officer. I really hate when I have to keep my mouth shut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The wife/mother will work on her (God bless)

Hmmm, tell her that her job is in the hands of God and not zero. Funding from these jobs comes from local and state financing anyway - not the federal government. I interviewed a probation officer for a criminal justice class and this is what he told me. Also, the local courts help pay their wages through fines collected and victims funds. She need not worry.

All Romney in my immediate neighborhood Nassau county which is always 60+% GOP anyway. There is one career democrat a few streets over who sports an O dumbo sign in his yard when it is not getting pelted with dog waste.

Barack Obama is a nominal, statistically insignificant, single point ahead of Mitt Romney, 47% to 46%,

This poll produced 43 D, 34 R, 23 I.

+9 D and ZERO is up 1?

Romney won FL

I did a simple yard sign poll the other day in south Broward on a run and it was 18-1 Romney in an area that was solid Oidiot in 2008. Bumper stickers tend to run around 4-1 Idiot most of the time. But bumper sticker wise, the volume is way down on both sides from 2008 in south to central Broward. Just my two cents.

I am in Boca Raton within 2 miles of Lynn University where the debate will be. I can only say Romney will be greeted by many Romney / Ryan signs as his convoy comes down Military Trail to the college for the debate. Obama, not so much. I don’t know if the ratio is 18:1, but Romney dominates by a whole lot.

Not to mention the anti-Obama billboards that will greet the President as he cruises from the airport down I-95. Several are Jewish groups posting his anti-Israel policies. There are many Jewish people in this area and they are not carrying Obama’s water this year. I think FL is a Romney rout this year, easily +7 for Mitt. I am boping for coattails in the senate race to get Mack to unseat Obama’s rubber stamp Bill Nelson.

Tell her that the state where she lives pays her.. not the federal government.
Tell her that there is a CEO of a company that will be forced to lay off his employees if Obama does win because of the Obamacare Health care because he can't afford it.
Now imagine how many other companies will be forced to lay off their employees if Obama wins ? not counting the new taxes that will take effect of Obama wins.
Have her take a look at the high gas prices, and food prices since Obama took office.
Ask her ? is she really better of now than 4 years ago ?

I still think that America is completely vulnerable to blatant cyber-hacking of electronic voting machine fraud. I think that already happened in the Nevada senate election two years ago when there were “glitches” with the machines that favoured Harry Reid. Then we hear about a voting machine company owned by the corrupt Venezuela government. A bunch of BS polls showing a very tight race will make it easier for Americans to swallow that a narrow Obama win was legitimate.

"a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WFLA-TV in Tampa ~~snip~~ produced (blah, blah, blah) ~~ 43 D, 34 R, 23 I"
A +9 Dem skew?!?

Jeez WFLA-TV why not just poll at the Tampa DNC HQ?
Maybe then you can get Barry Soetoro a lead that Axelrod will approve of.

Post scriptum; Yo David, stick a fork in him, he's done.
