The world stopped getting warmer almost 16 years ago, according to new data released last week.
The figures, which have triggered debate among climate scientists, reveal that from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012,there was no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures.
This means that the ‘plateau’ or ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose,1980 to 1996. Before that, temperatures had been stable or declining for about 40 years.
The new data, compiled from more than 3,000 measuring points on land and sea, was issued quietly on the internet, without any media fanfare,and,until today,it has not been reported.
This stands in sharp contrast to the release of the previous figures six months ago,which went only to the end of 2010–a very warm year.
Ending the data then means it is possible to show a slight warming trend since 1997,but 2011 and the first eight months of 2012 were much cooler, and thus this trend is erased.
Some climate scientists, such as Professor Phil Jones,director of the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia,last week dismissed the significance of the plateau,saying that 15 or 16 years is too short a period from which to draw conclusions.
Others disagreed. Professor Judith Curry,who is the head of the climate science department at America’s prestigious Georgia Tech university, told The Mail on Sunday that it was clear that the computer models used to predict future warming were ‘deeply flawed’.
Even Prof Jones admitted that he and his colleagues did not understand the impact of ‘natural variability’–factors such as long-term ocean temperature cycles and changes in the output of the sun. However,he said he was still convinced that the current decade would end up significantly warmer than the previous two.

Well, you have to hand it to AL Gore. He’s that good.
Interesting since I saw a Time Magazine today with a shot of some penguins on a small ice float with a caption of “Global Warming”. Yet their online collection of covers do not show this.
It’s articles like this that give me a boost of faith that the lies and deception can be overcome.
In this case it’s feels like another “Who are you going to believe me or your lying eyes” moment.
Reality, when it is published, often is very embarassing to the liars of the left like the anti America Enviro Terrorists.
6 years ago a younger relative returned to wino country to work in the wine industry. At that time, he was warned that due to Gorebull warming, in 5-10 years there would be no viable vineyards in Califonia. Oregone would become the premium wine grape growing center for about a decade until Gorbull warming took over them. Then Washington would become the premium wine grape growing center until Gorebull warming criped Washington and the grape growers moved to British Columbia.
The reality is that the grape growing seasons in wino country is now shorter and the average temps are down for the past 5 years. Harvest time for premium reds is later each year and shorter due to the colder days at the end of the shorter season.
This from the same folks who will point to a warm month or season as ironclad proof of global warming.
Considering the fact that the data are massaged to “account” for global warming, in other words fudged to get the desired result, mean global temperature has probably actually decreased in the last 16 years.
‘Professor’ Michael Mann of Penn State University is sourly pissed. His decaades of painstaking manipulation, selective sourcing, and hiding of data has been undone!

Damage: Global warming has been caused in part by the CO2 emitted by fossil fuels. This image shows smoke billowing out of a power station.
While the caption is technically true (sort of), in that on the left side are two tall smaller-diameter stacks with smoke exiting the tops (hardly "billowing"). The remaining 90% of the picture shows cooling towers with water vapor leaving the top. So, in my humble opinion, the caption is very misleading.

Wrong. Warmists have claimed temps. have been increasing (with temporary pauses or downswings) ever since the beginning of the industrial revolution.
But that's been 16 years of the very hightest levels of eeeeevil SUV's belching C02 in the history of man. And 16 years with no doubt the highest number of eeeeevil light bulbs burning ever...and cows farting.....and people exhaling and......
How could all this horrible human activity be going on and not having an impact? Hmmmmm??????????

They will ignore, debunk, or marginalize any inconvenient facts that pop up along the way.
