Has anybody ever asked Mitt what a God’s duties as president would be?

Seriously. Why do we tolerate this tyranny?

There is really no national umbrella organization that wants to take it on, is why. Not even the ACLU would want to touch it. Not if it didn’t want the CIA in its hair.

The other problem is one of scale. If you think the TSA is big, just wait till you try to create a security agency big enough to look at every US air passenger the way the Israelis do, with the commensurate training. By way of comparison, the number of people who fly Israel’s airlines (and are subject to Israel-level security methods) every day is roughly equivalent to the number of people who fly out of Sacramento on that same day. I’ve seen one estimate that replicating Israeli security would cost $40 billion a year—five times the current TSA budget.

…and I am reminded of the “leadership” of the DHS which I believe is the department TSA answers to, and that department’s categorization of true American Patriots as “Domestic Terrorists”.

In a past life, I used to go to AFCEA and NDIA conferences on DHS every year -- specifically the S&T directorate -- twice a year (featuring a lot of speakers from both industry and DHS). A lot of subjects they were doing research on (that have been since implemented) are horrifying to anybody who believes in fundamental constitutional liberties.

Again, Big Sis and Company have only done what Bush & Co wish they could do, but it didn't start with them. Had Bush & Co had a lapdog media like what Øbama has, I have no idea what kind of progress they would have made.

The entire idea of a DHS is a cancerous, pus-ridden tumor that must be cut out.

Israel has to face much greater terrorist avidity than the US has. To all reports, all this attention hasn’t found a single bomb. Some other weapons have been caught, but if this has led to the bust of any terrorist plot it is a deep dark secret. I’m more inclined to think 99% of the guns they find are from forgetful Bubbas.

Even if they’re going to shoot you at the stake, they grant you a cigarette first. Try asking for that today before getting groped.

I’m a pilot, married to a pilot. I live on the West Coast. My son lives on the East Coast and is getting married in June. I plan to drive. Because my husband could usually jump seat while I had a one way ticket, we’ve always been singled out for advanced screening when traveling together. I refuse to fly now. The only persons that should be touching me are family and medical personal, not some low IQ, pervert, government worker.

I think that it was Tom Daschle, fought to make TSA a government union job.

It was Daschle who said, "You can't professionalize unless you federalize."

He's to blame for a lot of this tomfoolery.

No doubt.

I know that there are circumstances (such as this lady’s, I presume) that require one travel by air, but in those instances in which it is not necessary, the American public would do itself a favor and starve these b@stards in the airline industry and TSA by finding other means of transportation.

They don’t deserve our money

The problem is, not even that will work, because the government will just bail them out with our tax dollars.

I really wish that someone would just start wailing on these guys. Knock them cold out, then stomp on their testicles with steel toed shoes. I'm sick of what the government has become. I very specifically do not say "our" government, because it has become clear to me for years, that they don't give a single damn about us.

With reference to your post 24 pointing out that the TSA’s tentacles reach the bus stations and the highways, well, then all is lost unless the American people react by getting the Congress to stop this crap. Otherwise, our freedoms will continue to contract.

You're wrong. It's time to start calling bullshit on them on our own. If we're waiting for congress, hell will freeze solid first.

I can’t beleive Americans tolerate any degree incompetent abuse from Federal agents in the name of “safety.” That is so sad and disappointing to me. People watched this woman be abused and didn’t speak up. It was a crime.

Why does it matter that she’s dying?

Her medical situation directly reflects on the TSA people wanting to search her more thoroughly, and the actions taken (contaminating the saline, exposing feeding tubes), could have an effect on her limited lifespan, especially if she is immunocompromised by chemo or radiation.

Remember who they wear those gloves to protect: themselves.

Sorry about not answering last night. My computer decided it didn't want to work anymore.

Anyway, this is my opinion and it's probably a distinct minority opinion, but I think it's because a great percentage of our population has turned into placid sheep. There is no other explanation for those people standing nicely in line at the airports to be abused for the privilege of being able to fly.

Give the Unions control of TSA and they have a way of creating economic chaos in America at any time they choose to.

The lines will get longer and airfares will rise higher. But not to worry, we have a fast, superefficient,money-making railroad to travel on to get around all the government airport nightmare.(yes, that’s sarcasm)
