Yea. Interestingly enough, the best way to energize the base at this point would be to get Sarah Palin (I use her not because I agree with everything she says but because she has a lot of sway with the base)to promise to oppose Romney in 2016 if he’s elected.
The ad pretty much sucks and there was definitely NO need for the line that “both me and Obama care about the poor and the middle class.” That is the exact same garbage that McCain did last time, saying Obama is a “nice guy.” George Bush Sr. didn’t walk around talking about how nice a guy Michael Dukakis was. They made him into an unelectable caricature and a national laughing stock. There is simply no need for that line in the ad at all. The rule in political ads is if you can’t say anything negative about the other candidate, DON’T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL! Pepsi doesn’t run an ad saying “Coke and Pepsi are both good, but we think we’re a little better!”
Romney also has to do more than refer to “my plan.” The lack of specifics about what makes his plan so different and better is NOT going to win anyone over. That’s why Clinton’s speech at the DNC was so well-received. He gave a lot of specifics. People WON’T take the time to fact-check what he says, so accuracy doesn’t matter much, but when they hear specifics, it makes the argument sound more convincing to them. They assume the person knows what they’re talking about and isn’t just spewing empty BS. It’s the difference between reading a book report from a kid who read the book and one who didn’t and just writes up a generic review.
At the moment I wish we were Canada, and I think we can get this country back.
I would vote for Harper over Obama in a heartbeat.
I know Obamacare will break us.
They haven’t even started collecting for tat and we ar 6 trillion further in debt.
Troll! Good one. What most trolls post when they don’t have a valid argument. Disagree, call them a troll.
maybe it will break the country maybe it won’t. That was never the right argument. Even if it balanced the budget I would still oppose it because I, as a free person, should not be forced to buy anything just because I was born in the country. That’s the argument, that’s the only argument that really matters. If you win the argument based on its impact on the debt you’re really just winning the argument on the edges. One day they may find a way to make the numbers work. On that day, I would still oppose it on principle of it.
Oh, say it again.
As you know I live in CA. I wouldn't want the leftist-lature and leftist gov here to try to force me to buy anything like Romney and the leftists in Mass did simply because the majority of residents of this state are liberals and wanted it
Until the day comes when we say NO to our elected leaders turning on us and forcing us to buy into unwanted liberal ideals through unconstitutional legislation they will continue to do so.
I am voting for Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and Ted Cruz.
What say you?
Coulter Rove Fox News must be proud of their Mittens.
Its all too high after 4 years of Obama..most states already have a way to deal with this..maybe just leaving it a state issue is the way to go..All Dems are trying to do with healthcare is get the cash in DC ..taking more power and cash from states..fed mandates have made everything impossable
And it arrived here on schedule to spread dismay and the “lets sit this one out “ crowd arrives
Most of this crowd are either DUers or Paulbots hopng to spread the “dont vote” virus for Obama !
aaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!! quit trying to out obama , obama. Be Romney. Tell us who you are. Show us how you are different; POINT OUT SOLYNDRA, CRONY CAPITALISM, BAILOUT OF SCOTLAND BANK,FISKAR,BILLIONS TO MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD, PIPLINE BLOCK, GULF OIL BLOCK, VIABLE FOSSIL FUEL IN GERNERAL BLOCK, COAL BLOCK, STUPID MICHELE’s DRACONIAN SCHOOL LUNCH BS,
GUNS WALKING. On this issue especially you should make the appeal to Hispanics on boarder states that it was an Obama program and their relatives across the boarder could (and likely have) been slaughtered with them
FOREIGN POLICY. Never let a speech go by without mentioning the open mike comments to Putin, the continuing failure to properly investigate the murder of our ambassador in Libya.
(If CNN finds a diary on the floor of the facility four days after the carnage then we OBVIOUSLY have not had ANY evidence gatherers of any kind in there). The fact that the intelligence stolen is already resulting in more deaths (like pakistan after osama op) of our foreign operatives in Libya. How do we expect locals to help our cause if they keep getting dead for the effort.
Better tighten up. Can’t handle another McCain , mr. nice guy, but stomping.
We are fired up, energized and ready to got to the mats. We aren’t seeing the kind of all out ,no holds barred campaigning that will TAKE THIS COUNTRY BACK.
Wish I could vote for Ted Cruz.
I guess it’s up to us to at least shore up the more ‘nervous’ among us. ;)
You compared a “ Marxist Muslim who hates the USA to Romney ??? And Said they were the same ??
Romney is a Marxist America hater ??? That's a new one. Your promoting here “not voting” which helps who ????
Obama, an evil Marxist Muslim who is destroying this country and will finish it off with 4 more years !!!
It was constitutional under the MA constitution with a majority of votes.
Obamacare was not constitutional at a federal level particularly with a minority of votes and back room shenanigans bending the elbows of congress.
Look, Texas has the right to enable laws that MA, and does not have to accept and visa versa.
The 10th amendment means something.
Beyond that, States rights should hold more sway that the Federal Gov.
You and I had many words over Perry, but all of your complaints (for the most part) had to do with the you ascribing the Federal Govs actions onto Perry.
The Federal Gov should NEVER Tell the states what to do.
Well, I wish you would vote against Obama even if it is in vain.
Getting as close as you can to your opponent is a recipe not for winning, but merely narrowing the margin of your loss.
Wonder who’s running in 2016?
BWahahaahah...you couldnt script a better dive in the WWE...
No, I voted for Newt Gingrich in the primary. I also liked Santorum, Perry, Cain and Bachmann better than Paul. But Paul said enough right things in the debates that I moved him to just above Romney in the rankings, who was dead last based on both his positions on the issues and his virtually guaranteed unelectability in the general election. No candidate had as many Achilles' Heels on which to strike him than Romney did.
What's your lousy governor got to do with this?
Unfortunately to vote against Obama requires that I vote for Romney. I’ll pass.
My lousy Gov has Texas prosperous despite this mess.
Gov. Romney in all the debates kept saying, for 93% nothing changed.
I SCREAMED AT THE TV.
Either he’s a lying politician who omits stuff OR he really doesn’t know
and understand the law.
I think (B): he doesn’t get it. He doesn’t get it because he doesn’t do
his own FREAKIN STATE TAXES. HE GETS SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THEM
and whatever health insurance he has.... puts down his company
and ID number. HE DOESN”T EVEN KNOW HE HAD TO GIVE UP
HIS HEALTH PRIVACY TO THE STATE.
HE DOESN”T KNOW IT.
WELL I”M NOT GOING TO FILL OUT THE 5 PAGE extension of the MA tax form.
I am going to write a letter and say “I have health insurance and/or
a large amount in the bank.:” I will say I have not gone to the emergency
room in 20 years. And you can check, the last time I went I used
my private health insurance.
SIGNED NOTARY PUBLIC me.
ITS A VIOLATION OF PRIVACY,,, illegal search and seizure 4th AMENDMENT
YOU DON”T HAVE THE RIGHT TO FINE ME based on nothing
I DIDN”T GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM
I ALWAYS PAID MY &*(@(&#&*( BILLS
BECAUSE WE HAVE DEADBEATS AND ILLEGAL ALIENS, I GOTTA GIVE UP
mY PRIVACY RIGHTS, MY FREEDOM
AND WE DON”T DO ANYTHING FOR PEOPLE WHO WALK AWAY FROM
HUGE CREDIT CARD BILLS, HUGE LOANS, HOUSES,
WE ALL HAVE TO PAY MORE EXPENSIVE CREDIT CARD, BANK ACCOUNTS,
MERCHANDISE BECAUSE OF Deadbeats and STEALERS
NOW RAND PAUL IS campaigninbg with Romney in Ohio
HE BETTER SET ROMNEY STRAIGHT.
Now I’m going to have to pay the insurance mandate state tax again.
YES. I had health insurance ....but I didn’t fill out the MA state tax —
COST ME ONLY $250 ONE TIME, NOW IT’S GOING TO COST ME $1000
TO RETAIN MY PRIVACY AND FREEDOM
Using stimulus/federal taxpayer money, sure.
Your not firing up a base with that stuff. I smell that clown Ed Gillespie all over that one.
Obama, that arrogant racist cow he’s married to and his corrupt democrats have still got to go, period.
Never said that (love those that put words in my mouth), I said I say no difference in the politics of Obama and Romney. Whether one or the other is a Marxist, that is beyond my pay grade.
RomneyCare wasn’t so compassionate to the taxpayers that paid for it all through the government stealing their incomes.
Despite Perry’s poor performance due to meds after a back surgery, only 2 people took it to Romney.
Perry first and then Newt.
All that is water near a bridge.
We have to take Obama and his band of infiltrators out!
Who is advising Romney? This is an absolute winner for Romney - “As Gov of Mass I worked with the legislature to solve the problems of Mass - Romney care. In America “one size does not fit all”, Each of our states has unique problems that can only be solved by the Governor and Legislature of the individual states. “Romney care” was the Massachusetts solution for our people but was NEVER intended for the rest of the nation. When I was Governor of Mass, we solved our problems for our citizens, this was our responsibility under OUR State Constitution.
I believe the other 49 states need to do likewise. Again I believe there are 50 solutions for 50 states solved by 50 Governors and Legislatures, NOT President Obama’s one size fits all OBAMACARE solution for his “57” states. As President I will repeal OBAMACARE and turn the solution of local problems over to States.
“Romney did no such thing. He merely did what his constituents wanted.”
Which is why we have a constitution to keep the two wolves from voting to eat the sheep.
Great points CF. Romney should be defining himself as the anti-Obama, not one who is like him.
I think it is a good ad.
That is true.
The Marxist in the white is owned by the Saudis and letting the Iranians and Muslim Brotherhood take over the Middle East !
Eric Holder is destroying our voting laws
Romney supports Israel not the Muslim Brotherhood / Iran !
You have not proved how Romneycare is constitutional though you made that claim and you ignored the fact that Texas doing so well economically was due to the influx of stimulus dollars from the federal government. You need to rethink your positions.
I saw no where in the ad were Romney condoned a welfare state.
I saw him define himself against Obama by saying he would create 12 million new jobs to strengthen the middle class to lift them up.
Perry gives his finger to Fed money all the time.
It's sort of like being engaged. You wouldn't break off your engagement for a new woman who seemed a lot like your wife but promised to be just a little nicer to you than she is. She would have to convince you that not only is she WAY better than your fiance in every way, but that your fiance isn't who you thought she was, and lied to you.
Obama said many wonderful things before he was elected as well. I don’ t trust either one. Once in office Mitt could turn on a dime as did Obamass.
The ad is for Ohio.
People in Ohio have been depressed over work for almost 4 decades.
People there crave work, They want pride.
Obama offers crumbs.
“The difference is that in Massachusetts it was constitutional and it is what the people wanted.”
Where in the constitution of Massachusetts that John Adams wrote where it justifies the state forcing individuals to purchase services from a private entity?
Fact is, RomneyCare was just as unprecedented for States as it was for the Federal government. Don’t buy the Romney BS spin for their crimes against humanity.
And as for people “wanting it.” Keep in mind Romney and his cohorts in that state lied about what it would do, but now they can’t get rid of it because, like the mob, once you’re in too deep they won’t let you out. Romney still lies about it, claiming it worked. He keeps saying that he insured everybody. That’s BS. Just as many people were uninsured after the law as they were before, though there were lots more of “legitimate” moochers. He argued they were living off the system by getting free health care by showing up in the emergency rooms and things like that. So now he just pays for their healthcare entirely, and the people who were already paying are now FORCED to pay for levels of insurance dictated by the State paying hundreds of dollars more just based on their tax bracket.
It’s socialism but with the capitalist veneer. Hmmm, similar to how the Nazis sold Fascism.
I’m not sure why anyone is surprised. This is exactly the same thing Romney did when he ran against Kennedy in the debates in 1994. He was very sensitive to the idea that he would reduce the size of government. In one of the town hall formats liberals in the audience kept asking questions about if Romney would be cutting off or reducing government subsidies. Romney only claimed minor differences in the debate against Kennedy and at one point used words to the effect of “I’m not looking to make any big changes from how Kennedy would vote except in these minor areas.”
I clearly remember Limbaugh lambasting Romney on his radio show after that debate and suggesting that Romney’s response to the audience should have been something along the lines of “Ask not what your country can do for you. Did you not hear what this man’s brother said?”
Different campaign, same old Mitt Romney. The GOP is trying to fight one big liberal with a slightly smaller liberal. Oh no, we couldn’t elect a real conservative because Mitt Romney was sooooo electable. And some of our fellow conservatives fell for it. The GOP is pretty much dead to me at this point.
I wish I could vote for Ted Cruz, and vote for Paul Ryan for President as well.
