"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what," Romney says in one clip. "There are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent on government, who believe that, that they are victims, who believe that government has the responsibility to care for them. Who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing."
Adding to his argument about entitlement, Romney said his "job is not to worry about those people."
"I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives," he added.

I think most people will agree with this totally.
What is killing this country are all of the entitlements.
It pretty simple. IF you get something for "FREE" somebody else is paying for it.
An adult or a person who thinks like an adult will appreciate this honesty.
A child or a person who thinks like a child would probably be upset by this.
I think they are going to try and turn this into a Joe the plumber moment, but I think that will backfire.
True
I agree with Romney on this.
A century ago, mooching off of others was considered dishonorable.
Now it is a virtue.
More MSM Bizarro dictionary. The truth is ‘controversial.’
I actually think this helps Romney.
I listened to the video... Romney is spot on.
So where are the “controversial” things?
Hard to believe you'd have Romney wandering about peddling Hannity's half baked theory about vast hordes of people escaping payment of any taxes at all, but if he did buy that one he needs more help than any of us could give him.
OMG this might cost Romney..................................................................3 votes
Well, duh.
This is supposed to be shocking? Maybe to CNN and PMSNBC.
How utterly convenient for the media to find audio of Mitt Romney...they cannot find anything on Obamugabe....but they just happen to find something on Mitt.....and make it a “scandal”.
If Mitt stands by those comments and gets right in their faces and says it again, it will have a positive effect. If he goes wishy-washy and tries to hmmm haw... and “qualify”, he will lose on it.
It’s controversial to them, because anyone who listens to it comes away thinking that Romney knows what he’s doing. No wonder it’s “controversial”.
What jerks.
I think Romney should make this point every chance he gets, not sure why he said it privately only. In fact, the “unauthorized” release may be a ploy by his campaign.
Don’t make me feel older than I already do.
I will be 64 next month and I can tell you, in the 1950’s, folks went to great lengths to not be seen as “mooching”. Back then, it was pride....people rolled up their sleeves and worked and found any way they could to keep from taking handouts or charity.
Not shocking to me. He’s right.
Don’t ask why I was on NBC nightly news, but brain-dead Williams did a story and showed the video. He led into the video with a monoluge about how this could be devastating for the Romney Campaign.
I saw the vid and was like, DAMN! Tell it like that all the time.
Fantastic. Just donated more to his campaign.
