Long-Form Birth Certificate of Obama is a Forged Document
A note of explanation
Since this is a site of Science and technology, there is a need to explain why this site dedicates a page to expose forgery about a document related to Mr. Barack Hussein Obama. Mr. Obama is the President of the USA that is currently the leader of the Free World, and the most powerful country in the Western hemisphere. In his position as the President, the policies pursued by Mr. Obama affects the whole world and not just the USA.
Because of the persisting controversy about his eligibility, On April 27, 2011 the Office of the President at the White House released a document that is called "Long-Form Birth Certificate". The release of this simple document, after two years of controversy, raised in our minds the possibility that there could be something suspicious about the information available on this document. To check this, we downloaded the document that was posted at the White House site at http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/rss_viewer/birth-certificate-long-form.pdf.
The analyses presented below reveal without a doubt that the Long-Form Birth Certificate of Mr. Obama is a fabricated, fake and forged document.
The publication of such a blatantly fake document about something so basic as the birthplace of Mr. Obama, should raise great concern about the suitability of the person who is holding the reigns on the most powerful country of the World.
Moreover, the lack of action on the part of the members of the United States House of Representatives and Senate, as well as the courts of the United States, despite many previous appeals to these three branches of American government, also raise a concern about how the governmental institutions of the reputedly best, and certainly the most important democracy in the Free World have avoided this issue.
Below, we present two different means by which the PDF document of Long-Form Birth Certificate of Mr. Obama can be examined.
Analysis of the document using Foxit Reader
A PDF document can be read by many different type of programs freely available. Here we used Foxit Reader version 4.3.1 that can be downloaded from the Foxit web site.
Instructions to check the document:
Download the document from http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/rss_viewer/birth-certificate-long-form.pdf Open the PDF document using Foxit Reader.
Zoom into the document 800%. Scroll down until you see the serial number of the document "61 1064" in the top right-hand side of the document. In full page view the number appears as "61 10641". But, after magnification, the last digit "1" disappears! This last digit is also in a font that is different from the other digits. This is only one example. Many more examples can be discovered by examining magnified document with full page view of the document. In brief, this simple analysis using just a viewing software reveals that the PDF document has been doctored by a graphics software.
Analysis of the document using Inkscape, a vector graphics software.
Reservations could be raised about the results of imaging by Foxit Reader noted above. As an independent test of the composition of the "Long-Form Birth Certificate" of Obama, the PDF file was also examined by an open source freely available Inkscape (version 0.48.1) graphics software.
Instructions to check the document:
Download the document from http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/rss_viewer/birth-certificate-long-form.pdf Import the PDF document using Inkscape. Unmark the two options in order not to modify the document.
In vector graphics software, an image is composed of elements. If the "Long-Form Birth Certificate" of Obama was a photocopied document then it should not be composed of separate parts. To reveal if the document has parts, click on the image opened. The status line at the bottom of the software reports that the image is composed of "2 objects" that have been grouped. To "ungroup" image components click Ctrl-Shift-G or select Object>Ungroup. For a second time, again click on the image and to "ungroup" image components click Ctrl-Shift-G or select Object>Ungroup. The status line at the bottom of the program reports that the image includes 9 objects.
Again click on the image and for a third time to "ungroup" image components click Ctrl-Shift-G or select Object>Ungroup. This time you see the outlines of nine rectangles marking the boundaries of the 9 objects.
The most important object among the 9 objects that are revealed is shown below.

Comparing the object above with the original document, it is seen that in the top right-hand corner of the document the last digit "1", of the serial number of the form "61 10641" is missing. This repeats the same observation as seen in the simple magnified view of the document in the PDF Foxit Reader (see above).

The document was scanned and it was broken into layers in preparation for optical character recognition. The sections that were recognized as characters were converted to monochrome (1-bit per pixel, not grayscale). That process was not perfect which is why some of the characters were left on the color graphics layer. None of that tells whether the scanned document was taken from a real microfilm record in Hawaii and printed onto their security paper, created by Obama's friends and printed on Hawaii's security paper, or just created entirely by Obama.

Right now I think that we will need someone trusted to look at the microfilm of the original birth certificate to see if it matches the surrounding birth certificates (same format, same hospital name, same typeface, etc). They've had a lot of time to create paper versions, but the "evidence" this author presents proves nothing one way or the other whether this was created or a real copy of the original.

There is no OCR or optimization process that accounts for the layering, grouping, color, pixelization, and layer bit content in the whlfcolb.pdf.
I challenge anyone to reproduce it with a scan of a similar document, like a cancelled check, if they can. (and post the setting/methodology with it).
The article is just a rehash of the erroneous PDF layer argument, this time from Israel. You get similar effects when you scan random documents and prepare PDFs from them using software commonly distributed with or used in conjunction with office scanners. These PDF artifacts are merely the result of using such software and are not evidence of forgery.
If the document is a forgery, the fabrication needed to have taken place in 1961, long before digital imaging technology, PDFs, Photoshop, etc., existed. Thus, making a case for forgery based on digital technology is total nonsense.
How do we know the document is genuine? The State of Hawaii has officially verified that the White House document matches what Hawaii has on file:
Of course, it could still be a forgery, but that would be a whole 'nother level of conspiracy (LOL!), since it would require the involvement of officials of the government of Hawaii, up to and including a former Republican governor and current Senate candidate.
if you can duplicate the “features” in the WHLFCOLB.pdf with a scan, you would be the first. (it just can’t happen.)
Scan a cancelled check - and show us the layers, grouping of content in layers, layer bit characteristics, absence of color abberations in a color scan, pixelation characteristics, some portions of text in dark green - some black, kerning, character misalignment from typewriter characteristics.
Please inform us of your process and scanner setting when you produce your results, so we could duplicate your process.

Technically and legally the document is invalid.

I downloaded the White House document and viewed it in Foxit Reader, as suggested in the article. I noticed that the 1 in the serial number seemed to pop into the image slightly late (I was using Remote Desktop into a Windows box, exaggerating any display delays). I see similar effects when I examine PDFs of documents I myself scanned. It's no big deal — it's just how the software works.
But the real point is, we don't have to rely on document analysis to refute or confirm the document. We now have Dr. Onaka's official authentication. It might not be good enough for the birthers, but it will stand up just fine in court.

Are you relying on half truths and shallow arguments because they represent the full extent of your capacity to comprehend? Or, is it because you care more about persuading people that you’re right than you do about getting to the truth by carefully delving into the strongest arguments of those who oppose your view.
If I were a person who cared primarily about rhetoric and sophistry, I too would say something like, “It’s been proven time and time again that scanned documents often have layers.” And then when someone started to pin me down about the details of this particular layer pattern, I would say, “Now, honestly the digital file doesn’t really matter at all because Hawaii has come right out and said that what is on the White House is the real thing.”
If you were a person deeply concerned about getting to the truth on this issue, wouldn’t you want to be wrestling through the best evidence on either side. Wouldn’t you want to concede (if for no other reason than to attest to your own intellectual honesty) that in truth no one has yet gone on record with a good explanation of how a document with the particular kind of layering (such as the presence of more than one single-bit layer) can be produced simply through normal scanning and conversion processes? Come on, I’ve confronted you about this once; sharpen your argument. “Scans produce layers,” just isn’t good enough anymore, and I’m going to be expecting better out of you!

Please take some time to explain why we should not be concerned in the least by Governor Abercrombie’s definitive statement that “It’s actually written down in the archives” and Loretta Fuddy’s 8-weeks of verbiage negotiations and delays with Ken Bennett before finally, reluctantly releasing a “verifcation” that has substantially different wording than the next version of the verification to eventually arise from the HDOH’s shadowy situation room.
After you fill us in on how to add all that up as innocent and normal, take a moment clear up what Nagamine meant when she told Mike Zullo, “Yes, but you still have a valid driver’s license!” Don’t know what I’m talking about? Better get back to your studying. After all, it’s the truth you care about isn’t it? Oh and by the way, why has Hawaii decided that it would just be all too bad for them to release the birth certificate of long deceased Virginia Sunahara to her brother. Wasn’t it on the basis that it’s just to brittle to photocopy? So concerned were they about that brittleness that they paid real money to fight Duncan Sunahara in court! Now why was that all perfectly within reason again?
You see, if you’re going to get me to come around to the truths you’ve carefully distilled out of all this, you’ll have to get me past my childish notions that just maybe the Hawaii government has behaved as something less than a paragon of honesty, transparency, impartiality and forthrightness.
