Mennonites: we are willing to die rather than betray girl to court-appointed lesbian ‘mother’
Life Site News ^ | September 4, 2012 | MATTHEW CULLINAN HOFFMAN

September 4, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Nicaraguan Mennonites say that they have been persecuted by government authorities since they chose to shelter ex-lesbian Lisa Miller and her daughter Isabella following their escape from the United States, but add that they are willing to suffer and even die to protect Isabella from a court-ordered custody transfer to her non-biological lesbian “mother.”

Lisa Miller and her daughter fled the country in late 2009 in order to avoid sharing custody of Isabella with Miller’s former homosexual partner, Janet Jenkins, with whom she had entered into a Vermont civil union. Jenkins is not biologically related to Isabella, who was conceived through artificial insemination and never adopted by Jenkins. Nonetheless, the Vermont court declared Jenkins to be Isabella’s “mother.”

Following their breakup, Miller repented of the homosexual lifestyle and professed faith in Christ, and began to fight the shared custody arrangement imposed by the court. Although expert testimony was submitted as evidence that Isabella was traumatized by the visits with Jenkins, the court refused to cancel them.

In a letter published on a Mennonite website devoted to defending Pastor Kenneth Miller (no relation to Lisa Miller) and others involved in Lisa and Isabella’s escape, the Mennonite “Nicaraguan Brotherhood” describes pressure and harassment from both U.S. and Nicaraguan authorities regarding their decision to shelter the two after their arrival in the Central American country.

The Brotherhood says that their churches in Nicaragua have been “questioned and pressed to give information” regarding the whereabouts of Isabella. “Some have been questioned when going to the US embassy. Others were interrogated in their homes.”

“Brethren and neighbors have been watched, interrogated and threatened,” and, “In some churches Sunday morning services have been watched and videoed,” they write. “A house of one of the brethren was searched without a search warrant.”

“Some excommunicated brethren said that they were offered free visas, a trip to the states, study offers and easy ways to become a police officer if they would help find her. The policeman also suggested they rejoin the church but work as spies for them,” write the Bretheren.

The Brotherhood says that they forgive their persecutors, but will stand firm in the defense of Isabella, now 10 years old, who “has become an innocent victim of an ungodly agenda.”

“Her wellbeing has not been given much or any consideration. According to the Bible we believe that God has given Lisa sole responsibility to care and protect her own daughter since she has no known father. According to the Bible it is a war between good and evil, a battle between God and Satan. As congregations we stand united in this spiritual warfare against evil.”

The Brotherhood add that they are willing to suffer imprisonment or death in the cause of protecting Isabella.

“The fact is that suddenly we find ourselves having to choose between obeying God and man made laws,” they write. “We have chosen to obey God. We are willing to give up our rights, go to jail, or even die, for the cause of helping anyone become free from a sinful life and helping that person to live in obedience to God’s Word.”

U.S. Mennonite pastor Kenneth Miller has already been convicted of helping Lisa Miller and Isabella to flee the United States, and may face up to three years in prison when he is sentenced. Jenkins has also filed a civil suit against Kenneth Miller for unspecified monetary damages, and has included organizations in the suit that have expressed support for Miller. Liberty University Law School’s dean Mat Staver has characterized that complaint as an attack on freedom of speech.

The letter of the Nicaragua Brotherhood does not specify which Nicaraguan Menonite churches are represented. Although its publication date is given as February of this year, it appears not to have been distributed outside of Mennonite circles. It was quoted in May in the Mennonite World Review, and was quoted in Jenkins’ lawsuit.

That sounds all well and good, but remember, this woman’s passport is most likely flagged by the NCIC, and from that, likely through INTERPOL as well.

The minute she crosses a border, that flag pops up and she’s detained by the local authorities, and then deported, back to the US.

Not saying it’s impossible for her, but difficult.

LifeSiteNews: Can you tell our readers also – what is your attitude about this? Do you fear for the future or are you optimistic? What do you think will happen?

Miller: I believe that God is in control and I believe that anything that is going to happen – He is going to allow it. I don’t have any fear. I feel at peace that God is with me. He has protected me and Isabella for the last five years and I believe that He is going to continue to do that.

The fact that we are aware of these things should make us stronger in our resolve to fight these people. They are pure evil. When God has had his belly-full of them all, He will act and we will help Him.

Despite everything the evil ones throw at them, Isabella is still free.

Good men have to stand in the gap and pay the price, but Isabella remains free.

Does anyone remember the name of the Sri Lankan girl who converted from Islam and went underground to avoid being sent back?

It was a long legal struggle, some of the people who helped her were prosecuted if I recall. In the end she won, but it was a long haul.

One of my favorite Bible passages... but I am still very angry that God will allow these gutter scum evil RAT bastards to persecute & hound Lisa Miller, her daughter, the Mennonite pastor now facing 3 yrs in prison, and even those groups who simply verbally voice support for Lisa Miller. God help our nation... but we do have millions of Christians praying for our nation and even this particular situation and we lose every single battle.... Unbelieveable. I cannot wait for Janet Jenkins, her lawyers, the Vermont judge, those in the Justice Dept, to roast in hell & the Lake of Fire for eternity. I understand that God’s ways are not our ways, but so far, we are 0 for 500 or so.

This is a very sad case, and unfortunately Lisa Miller undermined everything she fought for when she accepted child support from Janet Jenkins.

If you accept the idea that your partner has a parental responsibility, you accept that your partner has potential parental rights. It would have been easy as pie to argue that because Janet had never legally adopted the baby even after Lisa asked her to, she had voided her parental rights and responsibilities, but accepting the child support money completely undid that argument and is enough to convince me that Lisa Miller is being at least a little bit selfish and unreliable. Actions have consequences and unfortunately they’re all hitting a little girl harder than the women who knowingly dragged her into this mess.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

21 Woe unto [them that are] wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

22 Woe unto [them that are] mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: 23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! 24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, [so] their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

The fire to consume & destroy these evil reprobates is long overdue. It is inconceiveable that God is allowing these satanic-inspired, RAT bastard reprobates to prosper & succeed even in their persecution of Lisa Miller & those helping her & her daughter.

I pray that God needs to reach down and lend a helping hand.

I've often wondered what became of this mother and daughter. I hope they can remain in safety until the daughter reaches the age of majority and is safe from the nest of vipers of the lesbian former partner and the "justice" system. Also noteworthy are the U.S. Mennonite pastor Kenneth Miller and the Mennonites in Nicaragua for standing up and taking risks for the sake of the mother and daughter.

I’m a former Mennonite.

These are the true Mennonites who have, and still are, willing to die for their beliefs. Hundreds of thousands have gone before them.

I no longer consider myself a Mennonite for primarily two reasons; most of the church has gone ‘rainbow’ and the non-resistance is now contrary to my belief.

WHen these Mennonites say they will die first, they have hundreds of years of history to fall back on. They WILL die first.

She’s as safe as she can be made safe.

I don’t imagine that Nicaraguan border controls are terribly effective. Neither is that of Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala or Panama. Most of these just do passport stamps, not computers, so Interpol would never find out.

Of course, though, she would only want to go to a country with a Mennonite community.

And if she got over the border successfully, she would be off the radar. At that point, the disinformation could begin in earnest.

What would probably happen would be that the USG would lean even harder on the Nicaraguan government, who would get really pushy to the Mennonites, but get nowhere and nothing, other than told she had gone in a dozen different directions.

The USG would probably take it at face value, and assume at least the first few times that those sneaky Mennonites had used an underground railroad to get her to New Zealand or wherever. So they would contact the government of NZ about it. Then the government of Taiwan, then Nepal, etc.

The neat part is that soon false positives would come in, like ‘Elvis seen in a Taco Bell in Burbank’ type stuff, which would gum up the works even more.

I grew up with Mennonites. They mean this if they have said it. No joke. Plain people, just a smidgeon this side of Amish.

When liberals went on witch hunts against gun owners for self defence, Texans put the kabosh on the persecution via jury nullification. They refused to find people acting in self defense when attacked by criminals, guilty of a crime; no matter how cleverly contrived in technocality by prosecutors. They did not plan or plot such an outcome; they were just true to the American sense of justice without fanfare. Prosecutors took the hint gave up wasting their time.

Christians have the power to do this with any fascist move against religious freedom or human life made by the government. The founders set up the balancing of power in law with a “jury of peers” for a reason. All the power of law ultimately lies with the jury - the people- and most of us are Christians, not gay sex activists and communists.

It is expected and designed for Americans be uppity in protection of one another’s constitutional freedom and innocent life when the government “progresses” to oppress that freedom.

When the government progresses to be extreme - in extreme conflict with common sense and the nature of good and normal human existence, or in conflict with our God given rights, jury nullification is our power. We don’t have to leave it up to corrupt judges and prosecutors. If they want to put an American in jail or win a civil law suit, they come through us.

For example, if watermelons made it a crime for humans to expel carbon pollution from their lungs (they’d love to knock out “overpopulation”), it would be fine for the people to annul that law in the jury box. Christians best get ready because we are going to face some outrageous actions of government ordered (and disobeyed) killings under Obamacare’s rationing that we are going to get uppity about.

Homofascism will ask us to harm Christians and protect and the aggressive sexual behaviors perverts. In this case child custody was given to a lesbian of no relation to the child. It was homofascist judicial activism. Christians should anul such legal actions through juries. In this case we can hold this minister not guilty of a crime. Just...because...we...want...to and as a jury member we...can.

In these abnormal times, what is good is named evil and what is evil is named good. Liberals can tell Christians to shut up all they want in public debate and shove through laws against our will, but they can’t make us convict other Christians for using common sense — being normal and moral. We can do what is right on a jury without a lot of risk as long as we are willing to discuss issues of morality and justice amongst ourselves - beyond the collective amoral ignorance of political correctness. That is what Texans did in protection of the second amendment while legal activists were hot to harm gun owners.

Un-freaking-believable. Much praise to the Mennonites both here and abroad for their bravery in combating this evil. Our republic is morally bankrupt.

Proverbs 16:4 The LORD hath made all [things] for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
