The upcoming election battles may be unique in offering for the first time a debate about global warming. Neither Bush-Gore nor McCain-Obama chose to discuss the issue -- maybe because they were not really that far apart. By contrast, Barack Obama has already announced that, if re-elected, he will make climate change an important priority -- while Paul Ryan is an assertive skeptic on AGW (anthropogenic global warming).
The science of climate change is not just of academic interest, but has been leading to policies for large-scale changes in energy use and supply -- with important economic consequences. The burden of proof for AGW therefore falls on those who call for such policies. They must demonstrate with reasonable certainty that human activities are causing global warming, that a future warming will produce significant economic and ecological damage, and that it would be more cost-effective to mitigate now rather than to adapt later. They must also be ready to respond to any critique of the underlying science.
A recent example of irresponsible AGW claims is a just-released statement by the American Meteorological Society -- the same crew that cannot predict the weather three days in advance. The concluding section begins:
There is unequivocal evidence that Earth's lower atmosphere, ocean, and land surface are warming; sea level is rising; and snow cover, mountain glaciers, and Arctic sea ice are shrinking. The dominant cause of the warming since the 1950s is human activities. This scientific finding is based on a large and persuasive body of research. The observed warming will be irreversible for many years into the future, and even larger temperature increases will occur as greenhouse gases continue to accumulate in the atmosphere. Avoiding this future warming will require a large and rapid reduction in global greenhouse gas emissions...

scientists predict that in 20 years......
is pure propaganda. All honest competent scientists will admit that
a. we don’t understand all the parameters affecting the atmosphere.
b. Even assuming a was false, There isn’t enough computing power in the universe to run a climate simulation that would give meaningful result.
If anyone can tell me:
How many hurricanes will make landfall during the remainder of this season and their strength when they do,
or
What the total snowfall will be for Lexington, KY this winter,
or
When the Long Rains will start and end and total rainfall in Western Kenya next Spring,
or
Explain why all the “NEW ICE AGE-WE’RE DOOMED” predictions of the 1970’s failed,
or
The increase/decrease in grain production in the Central Plains next year,
then I will respectfully listen when they try to tell me about climate 20 years or 50 years from now.
Dr. Singer kills “settled science” here without even touching upon the many scientific frauds perpetrated by warmers, from bogus tree ring studies (all emanating from the Yamal region), Mann’s famously stabile “hockey stick” program, or the continued reliance upon a surface temperature measurement data-set that is obviously flawed and biased, despite the existence of a validated data-set said sources do not mention.
If the left’s assertion that AGW is causing increased warming. Why did they have to DOCTOR THE BOOKS. They got caught and it’s all became obvious it was nothing but POLITICAL SCIENCE these frauds were shoveling. Just another SOCIALIST DEMOCRAT charade to fool the people into milking more tax money out of us into their pockets.

(1) Changes in atmospheric CO2 occur after - not before - an increase in temperature.
(2) This agrees with earlier findings from ice core samples.
(3) The ESSENTIAL theoretical sequence of heating in “Man Made Global Warming” is atmosphere to land to ocean.
(4) This paper states the sequence of heating we now have is actually ocean to land to atmosphere.
(5) If this paper can be verified by other researchers, it means our current global warming is being caused by the SUN heating earth’s oceans, and NOT by CO2 trapping heat in the atmosphere.
