We Will Win
American Thinker ^ | August 29, 2012 | Bruce Walker

It is hard in the midst of battle for us to see, but we are winning. We ought to win the presidential election this year, and we must do everything in our power to make that happen, but the defeat of the left today is sure. The only way to lose this war is for us to quit, and we are not doing that.

Begin with the basics. Americans, overwhelmingly, are conservative. The latest Battleground Poll shows what every other Battleground Poll has shown for the last decade: Americans, by a huge majority, choose to call themselves "conservative," even when they can choose "moderate" or "unsure" as well as "liberal." Look at May 2012, or the twenty consecutive Battleground Poll reports dating back more than ten years in which conservatives have always been an overwhelming majority.

The Gallup Poll findings are just as stark. The last poll in February 2012 showed that conservatives outnumber liberals in every state except Massachusetts, and the one in February 2011 showed that conservatives outnumbered liberals in every single state. The one in August 2010 showed that conservatives outnumbered liberals in every state except Rhode Island; in February 2010, again, conservatives outnumbered liberals in every...

--snip--

There is a final and fatal nail in the coffin of leftism: it has no ideas, and it scarcely pretends to have ideas anymore. Listen, when you can bear it, to the drivel from the Obama campaign. What is true of this presidential campaign is true of the whole of leftism in our land. It is sterile, vapid, and boring. The recent exchange between Anderson Cooper and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and the Newsweek editorial against Obama show just how sick even the flacks of the establishment have grown from the nausea of leftism.

We will win. Indeed, we cannot lose.

A bizarre statement. They can and will cheat in many ways.

we cannot lose

Never underestimate the power of an Akin-Boehner connection.

Yes and no.

We need to keep jobs in America. And bring jobs back.

Exporting jobs helps only democrats. While it hurts America.

Hmmmmm... how again did Obama get elected by such a convincing margin in 2008 if this country is so "conservative?" Sounds to me like respondents aren't being quite so honest in their self-assessment.

Or maybe we're to think of "conservative" in a different way...

I still fail to see how pundits can rate this country as "center-right." A "center-right" country doesn't elect the likes of Barack Obama and, after nearly four years of ruinous policies, show a greater-than-even likelihood of re-electing him.

Centrist with a slight tilt to the left is more accurate.

True, but many don’t vote. We should stop relying on moderates and get conservatives to the polls.

Never underestimate the power of an Akin-Boehner connection.

If only Boehner was as conservative as Akin then we might have a chance to change America but since Akin is 100 percent more patriotic and conservative than Boehner then we are doomed.

I think the message to the DNC is clear:

They can cheat irrespective of how close it is it’s just that they can’t win by cheating if it’s not close enough to have cheating make the difference. If it’s too big a “cheat” it’ll be obvious to even a democrat.

Illegal aliens are busy registering to vote online, with their freshly minted Driver’s licenses from California and other states. If I see ANY impropriety at my polling place, I’M CALLING ERIC HOLDER! Oh, wait..

Even if we win, we need to keep a microscope up every politician’s anal orifice and keep them on a very short leash.

Thanks for the shot in the arm. I have my doubts, but I can't argue with this statement:

The tools of leftist manipulation of the conservative majority in America are losing their power.

It's tough to see where we are in the arc of history but some things are moving in our favor.

Where do they get this 'we' stuff, and how exactly is the Left loosing this election either way? It's truly sad if anyone on our side actually believes this.

Which Conservative is it that they think is going to win this general election for President?

Hmmmmm... how again did Obama get elected by such a convincing margin in 2008 if this country is so "conservative?" Sounds to me like respondents aren't being quite so honest in their self-assessment.

Obama posed and campaigned as a pragmatic moderate, e.g. being against queer marriage in 2008. The lamestream media failed to vet Obama, e.g. he had the most liberal voting record in the Senate. Uninformed swing voters swallowed the bait.

The conservative rubric can include both just fiscal or just social conservatives.

Why do you have so much pessimism? How do you explain the results in November 2010? Why did the GOP get 60 % of the whitte vote in 2010 for the first time in history? Why is the left trying to make a big deal about social issues now? I won't be surprised if Obama loses by 10 %, and the heart and soul of the rats, the Jacksonian Democrats, are no more. Just look at West Virginia.

Academic model: Romney will take 52.9% of the vote, 320 electoral votes
