Unofficial results show Russell Pearce is facing his second election defeat in a row — once again to a political newcomer who vowed not to pursue divisive illegal immigration legislation.

SkyMall Founder Bob Worsley is leading Pearce with 56 percent of the vote in the Republican primary, according to early ballots and 100 percent of precincts reporting.

Pearce’s potential loss is a huge blow to a man who some had once considered Arizona’s most powerful politician.

Is that a good or bad thing?

Russell Pearce is a good man, a key sponsor of SB1070. And to his credit, Pearce served as Chief Deputy Sheriff under the great Joe Arpaio. From my vantage point here in Texas, I think that Arizonans did their state a disservice by not supporting Pearce, who also opposes the anchor baby travesty pushed by a liberal interpretation of the 14th Amendment.

Go figure you fools in Arizona. One reason and one reason only. OPEN PRIMARIES.

The same stupid thing that got us another run of McSlime and that Biology Professor Akin.

Really, really bad. He provided very strong, vocal and legislative support for Sheriff Joe and was a driving force behind the push to keep illegals out of Arizona. The only two voices remaining now are the Governor and Sheriff Joe.

I am sure Eric Holder is dancing in the streets.

Let him find a job in the private sector now. It’ll be a first.

This is the state senator who was wrote the immigration law and was recalled (and replaced by a different Republican, I don’t know why many REPUBLICANS wanted him out). I don’t live in AZ let alone his district but from what I know I’d be inclined to have supported Pearce.

Full primary roundup from Tuesday’s action

Alaska:

RINO (and adulterous lover of Hawaii democrat Mazie Hirono) Don Young easily beat a couple random nobodies to win renomination for his 10000th term. I don’t think I’d give a crap if he lost in November.

Arizona

In the Senate primary Jeff Flake turned Cardon into road kill. He faces W Bush’s horrible choice for Surgeon General in the general.

For the redrawn and now even more marginal CD 1 that was shamefully abandoned by it’s freshman incumbent the GOP nod as expected went to former State Sen Jonathan Paton who is now tasked with keeping that witch Ann Kirkpatrick from making a comeback.

CD 5, former Congressman and 2002 GOP gubernatorial nominee Matt Salmon whom the “great” Sheriff Joe (in act that if I was in charge of such things would gotten him ejected from the GOP) did NOT support against that horrible slime Napalitano won the primary for the safe seat and will be returning, succeeding the man that succeeded him (Flake).

CD 6, in the incumbent V incumbent primary Dave Schweikert beat Ben Quayle. It’s a shame a state we controlled should have independent redistricting and leave us with this bad map that could end up 5-4 democrat.

CD 9. Mayor Vernon Parker won a hotly contested GOP primary for this new slightly rat leaning seat. Hopefully Parker and Mia Love will double the number of Black Republicans in the House. Parker has to get through some woman who’s parents named her Kyrsten, with a y. She’s is not bad looking for a democrat.

Oklahoma

In the runoff for the open CD 2 of moderate democrat and Janna Ryan Cousin Dan Boren, the inferior self funding choice Markwayne (come on parents, do better) Mullin, who made some very unfortunate comments on healthcare defeated the electorally superior choice and more trustworthy conservative State Rep Dan Faught. Congrats on buying the nomination Markwayne, now you better damn well beat the democrat.

There was also a primary in Vermont. (crickets chirp)

Randy Brock the former state Auditor who got his reelection stolen is the nominee for Governor. He trailed badly in a poll I saw a while ago. GOP holds the offices of LT Governor (incumbant) and Auditor (the democrat who stole the office from Brock later switched to the GOP himself, he’s retiring).

Bernie Sanders faces some loser who last won office in Massachusetts, in 1988. At least they are taking most of the state offices seriously.

All politics are local. Hopefully we’re able to keep moving the ball forward. If Mia Love and Vernon Parker both win they’ll be a formidable combination that will cause blacks and centrist whites to leak from the Democratic Party. If those numbers get reduced by a fairly small percent we can expect more GOP governors and other statewide offices in current Dem strongholds.

Yes indeed having conservative Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Jews ect be involved and visible is important in competing for those votes, 20% of the Black vote would end the chances of the democrats ever winning anything in the South again.

Governor Martinez had a touching story of a young girl (or girls plural more than once?) who recognized her in a store. A girl who has yet to be brainwashed by public schools who will grow up knowing the Latina Governor of her state was a Republican and she can be one too cause no one is born a democrap, democraps are made.

Antonio Villaraigosa says it’s not enough though, a “brown face” isn’t enough you need to a be marxist who combines his surname with that of his wife and then gets divorced and looks like the world’s biggest idiot and nancy boy. Villar and his ilk are the types who call Black Republicans “House n***rs”.

...20% of the Black vote would end the chances of the democrats ever winning anything in the South again.

As well as, in all likelihood, end the chances of them winning another presidential election.

...no one is born a democrap, democraps are made.

Literally speaking, you are correct. But literally, no one is born Republican or any other political designation as well.

But if you are born into a 'Rat family, you are statistically likely to become a 'Rat and remain so for the rest of your life. It's just the stuff you hear in your family growing up. (I've heard somewhere that about 80% of the electorate identifies with the party that that parents identify or identified with.)

FWIW, I once heard a former chair of the DNC describe himself as "a genetic Democrat," and I'll give him credit for an accurate metaphor.

What's up with this "brown face" garbage? Anyone who can see can tell you that Hispanic people come in a wide variety of skin tones and physical appearances. "Brown face" is just a foolish stereotype, mostly used by racists on the left.

Yeah that’s a huge problem. Especially in the Black community.

Black kid grows up in a Black neighborhood, it’s likely his parents are demorats, his pastor, all the teachers in the local public school, most of the famous Black athletes and musicians he idolizes. If he dates a Black girl she’s a democrat, her parents. And they treat it like both religion and even more so like a cultural imperative, like it’s part of being Black. It’s not something to even question because their gospel is “Republicans hate Black people” and thus are the enemy.

White people who are raised democrat are much more likely to be able to overcome it as they get out into the world. Maybe their parents will be upset if they come home for Thanksgiving and say they are Republican but they don’t face the same kind of stigma or traitor shunning I imagine Black Republicans face and no one calls them “House ni***”.

“Minority” Democrats direct a lot of racist language at their own people. Much more than any Republican does.

I would have expected nothing different from a creepy slimeball like Villar. He’s on a short list of people I think are more worthless than Barack Obama.

Re the politics of black athletes:

I'm sure there are a few famous black athletes today who are Republicans. Gaining financial success in the private sector can be a big factor in changing someone's political orientation.

Jesse Owens, one of the greatest Olympic athletes ever, was a known Republican and suffered an income tax case brought against him by the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration, believed by some to have been politically motivated. Jackie Robinson (perhaps the best known black athlete in American history as the man who desegregated major league baseball) was a RINOish Republican, a good friend of Nelson Rockefeller. And the great basketball player Wilt Chamberlain was a Republican as well, IIRC. More recently, Lynn Swann, a former pro football star, ran for statewide office in PA in 2006 as a Republican and was defeated.

I heard the Williams sisters (tennis) were Republican.

Lots of NBA stars fundraise for Osama though.

Charles Barley used to be a RINO but switched to Leninist several years ago.
