Is that a good or bad thing?

Russell Pearce is a good man, a key sponsor of SB1070. And to his credit, Pearce served as Chief Deputy Sheriff under the great Joe Arpaio. From my vantage point here in Texas, I think that Arizonans did their state a disservice by not supporting Pearce, who also opposes the anchor baby travesty pushed by a liberal interpretation of the 14th Amendment.

Really, really bad. He provided very strong, vocal and legislative support for Sheriff Joe and was a driving force behind the push to keep illegals out of Arizona. The only two voices remaining now are the Governor and Sheriff Joe.

I am sure Eric Holder is dancing in the streets.

This is the state senator who was wrote the immigration law and was recalled (and replaced by a different Republican, I don’t know why many REPUBLICANS wanted him out). I don’t live in AZ let alone his district but from what I know I’d be inclined to have supported Pearce.

Full primary roundup from Tuesday’s action

Alaska:

RINO (and adulterous lover of Hawaii democrat Mazie Hirono) Don Young easily beat a couple random nobodies to win renomination for his 10000th term. I don’t think I’d give a crap if he lost in November.

Arizona

In the Senate primary Jeff Flake turned Cardon into road kill. He faces W Bush’s horrible choice for Surgeon General in the general.

For the redrawn and now even more marginal CD 1 that was shamefully abandoned by it’s freshman incumbent the GOP nod as expected went to former State Sen Jonathan Paton who is now tasked with keeping that witch Ann Kirkpatrick from making a comeback.

CD 5, former Congressman and 2002 GOP gubernatorial nominee Matt Salmon whom the “great” Sheriff Joe (in act that if I was in charge of such things would gotten him ejected from the GOP) did NOT support against that horrible slime Napalitano won the primary for the safe seat and will be returning, succeeding the man that succeeded him (Flake).

CD 6, in the incumbent V incumbent primary Dave Schweikert beat Ben Quayle. It’s a shame a state we controlled should have independent redistricting and leave us with this bad map that could end up 5-4 democrat.

CD 9. Mayor Vernon Parker won a hotly contested GOP primary for this new slightly rat leaning seat. Hopefully Parker and Mia Love will double the number of Black Republicans in the House. Parker has to get through some woman who’s parents named her Kyrsten, with a y. She’s is not bad looking for a democrat.

Oklahoma

In the runoff for the open CD 2 of moderate democrat and Janna Ryan Cousin Dan Boren, the inferior self funding choice Markwayne (come on parents, do better) Mullin, who made some very unfortunate comments on healthcare defeated the electorally superior choice and more trustworthy conservative State Rep Dan Faught. Congrats on buying the nomination Markwayne, now you better damn well beat the democrat.

There was also a primary in Vermont. (crickets chirp)

Randy Brock the former state Auditor who got his reelection stolen is the nominee for Governor. He trailed badly in a poll I saw a while ago. GOP holds the offices of LT Governor (incumbant) and Auditor (the democrat who stole the office from Brock later switched to the GOP himself, he’s retiring).

Bernie Sanders faces some loser who last won office in Massachusetts, in 1988. At least they are taking most of the state offices seriously.
