Hurricane Isaac
NHC/NOAA ^ | 27 August 2012 | NHC/NOAA

Posted on 08/28/2012 9:24:55 AM PDT by NautiNurse

Isaac has been slow to organize and attain hurricane status. Slow moving minimal Hurricane Isaac threatens to dump up to 20" of rain in portions of its path. Storm surge of 6-12ft is expected.

Media news readers have gleefully reported RNC scheduling adjustments to accommodate public safety during Tampa storm warnings.

A water spout formed in the Tampa Channelside area at 4:43PM Monday afternoon, a short distance from the RNC Convention Center. The Florida Atlantic coast was inundated with torrential rain squalls from far-reaching Isaac outer bands. Several tornados were reported in the Florida peninsula.

The weather took its toll on protester turnout at the GOP convention. Cara Jennings, a community organizer from Palm Beach County, braved the elements dressed as a sparkling pink vagina, along with several dozen other protesters.

GOP governors of Gulf Coast states announced they would remain at their posts, rather than attend the Tampa convention. British Petroleum reported eight oil rigs and 39 production platforms were evacuated late Sunday. By mid-day Monday, personnel had been evacuated from 346 offshore gas and oil platforms, representing 58 percent of the 596 manned platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.

As Isaac ultimately takes aim at the Gulf of Mexico coastline, news outlets wistfully reminisce about the 7th anniversary since Hurricane Katrina, huge television ratings, and once again omit a state named Mississippi in their storm coverage. One thing is certain--news coverage is much more predictable than Hurricane Isaac.

“Karl Rove is planting the explosives along the levees as we speak.”

A pickup truck was seen leaving Crawford Texas with a heavy load in the back, covered by a tarp. Three men were seen in the truck. The resembled GW Bush, K Rove; and Richard Cheney.

The were cackling madly and seen heading towards New Orleans.

Heavens! Now I’ll be hearing that Pac-Man sound the rest of the day. LOL I guess though, in this case, it’ll be Plaq-Man.

Thank you so very much for your earnest effort to inform and to help. Many do certainly appreciate it. I’ve moved inland about 90 miles from Panama City Beach, but I surely miss breathing the air there, except when the red tide came in. Ivan was just too costly, property tax and insurance wise.

Just checking to see how you are doing. Are either of you getting a load of bad weather from Isaac?

LOL!

90 miles is a short hop to get your dose of salt air. I surely understand the painful insurance expense with coastal living. Ouch.

There are an increasing number of models that do not have the center of Issac actually moving on shore until midday Thursday or later.

Seven years later...where are they?

Aaron Broussard

Ray Nagin

August 21, 2012 - Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin did not appear in federal court Friday, being granted an extension to produce documents requested for a grand jury. and it's slowing down

Way to ruin a party for the obama base:

What began as a simple going-away party on Barracks Street in 1972 has evolved into one of New Orleans' premier yearly events: Southern Decadence. Held annually in the French Quarter over Labor Day weekend, this celebration of GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender) culture has begun attracting as many as 125,000-135,000 participants from all over the world in recent years.

Shep Smith is holding his spot for the party. He’s got a balcony room at the Royal Sonesta.

Here's a weather chaser live streaming from beachside in Waveland, MS. His vehicle is quickly becoming overtaken by rising tide. Not too sure if he thought this out fully beforehand. Reed Timmer is his name.

LOL! I was waiting for one big wave to short out his electrical system shutting down his windshield wipers. Saltwater is a good conductor of electricity and will do a number on his electrics. Hope he has a plan B!
