DHS is stockpiling almost 1.5 billion rounds, then the National Weather Service and now the Social Security Administration is buying on short notice 174,000 rounds. You'd think DHS would have enough for everybody, but I suppose you're not a real federal agency unless you have SWAT teams, ammo stockpiles and regular practice taking on the American people.

What with skyrocketing sales of personal weapons and huge runs on ammunition, these must be good times for folks in the gun/sporting businesses. I know the range I shoot at bought another one, now we got 4 to choose from close by.
If I read correctly the PDF of the latest 750M round order from DHS, these were going to be delivered over time. I don’t think it ultimately lessens the questions that need to be asked, but it does seem to suggest placing the start of the government-induced SHTF farther out than October/November, as some are predicting.
Meanwhile, it probably will push the cost of ammo up for anyone who hasn’t already stocked up.
I personally think a lot of this is intentional propaganda.
I for one haven’t forgotten what Cass Sunstein wrote about creating and spreading conspiracy theories as a means of stirring reaction, distraction etc.
A purchase of the classic book, Total Resistance, on Amazon is probably a good idea for anyone really worried about this stuff. Get it while you can.
All of this will make perfect sense after martial law is declared and the elections in November are cancelled.

Who are they planning to shoot? Unless the National Weather Service is launching an invasion of Iran, they plan to shoot American citizens.
These agencies are all under 0bama’s purview. So these mass purchases could scare some 2008 0bama voters over to Romney. It’s pretty clear agitator 0bama is fomenting a class war on all fronts. Most people don’t approve!
Just ask the media. I’m sure they’ll look into this and get right back to you on it.

All I know is that info like this is pretty easy for them to hide so they apparently want to advertize it for some reason.
The national weather service isn’t exactly SEAL team 6 and the social security administration isn’t much better. In fact most of the DHS is made up of desk pilots.
If any ammo is actually being bought, I’m guessing that its going to Syria or something.
Document “2012 .357 DUTY CARRY AMMO.xlsx” shows the quantities of ammo going to each SSA location. Manchester NH = 15,000 rounds, Los Angeles CA = 10,000, Iselin NJ = 10,000, Richmond VA = 10,000, etc..

And that means they need 174,000 rounds of hollow point?? (And please don't try to claim that they use a lot of ammo for practice.)
Soaking up supply, and driving up price.
