When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over

When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over

August 13, 2012
By Jim Karger

“When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands,” is a common refrain I often hear from the Neo-Cons when there is a threat, credible or otherwise, that the US government is going to take their firearms.

And, when I hear this crazy talk, I agree with them openly. “You are right. They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands,” which I often follow with the question, “And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood [in] the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?”

This is not a question they are comfortable with, if only because the intent of their saber-rattling was to imply they would fight to keep their weapons, and win.

Nice fantasy. It’s not happening.

If the federal government decides to disarm the public, and when the increasingly-militarized rolls down your street after a not-so-subtle request that you kindly turn over your firearms and ammunition “for the common good,” it will be nothing less than suicide by cop to do anything other than what you are told.

The militarization of US police forces is ongoing and escalating. Many cities and towns now own tanks, armed personnel carriers, even attack helicopters, and almost all are outfitted with military weapons not available to the general public.

And, it is not just your hometown cops who are getting new boy-toys. The military itself is buying up weaponry not just for use in the current or next scheduled war, but to deal with the likes of you, citizens who don’t seem to understand that the Bill of Rights has been overruled, and that specifically includes, but is not limited to, the right to protest and engage in civil disobedience.

Also ignored (as if it didn’t even exist) is the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 which generally bars the military from law enforcement activities within the United States.

According to Public Intelligence:

“…for the last two years, the President’s Budget Submissions for the Department of Defense have included purchases of a significant amount of combat equipment, including armored vehicles, helicopters and even artillery, under an obscure section of the FY2008 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for the purposes of ‘homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities.’ Items purchased under the section include combat vehicles, tanks, helicopters, artillery, mortar systems, missiles, small arms and communications equipment. Justifications for the budget items indicate that many of the purchases are part of routine resupply and maintenance, yet in each case the procurement is cited as being ‘necessary for use by the active and reserve components of the Armed Forces for homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities’ under section 1815 of the FY 2008 NDAA.”

And, they are not just arming cops and weekend warriors for domestic purposes. Active duty Marines are now being trained for law enforcement operations all over the world (of which the US remains a part) specifically to deal with civil uprisings, and the US government knows that civil uprisings are coming to a town near you just as soon as the fantasy of a healing economy is shattered, the US dollar fails, and unemployment goes to 30%+ in real numbers.

And, to you tough-talking Neo-Cons with your AR-15 rifles and a few thousand rounds of ammo, here is the reality: they will take your guns, and no, all your Second Amendment bluster aside, you are not going to do anything about it. You are not going to take on a platoon of Marines with state-of-the-art automatic weapons and the best body armor you cannot buy protected by armed personnel carriers and attack helicopters unless you choose to die that day — for nothing. You will either be in the country or out, and if you are in, you will stay in and you will comply.

That is your choice… for the moment.

"When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over"

I would ask:

If the American people are simply going to hand over their guns then WHY all the petty gun control bans?

Why worry about "high capacity magazines" or "military style assault weapons"?

What are "they" so afraid of?

why haven't "they" collected all the guns already?

And that’s how you know that SOME of the recent so-called ‘random’ shootings are staged as the precursor for justifying such bans. The shootings the government REALLY wants us to never forget are the ones with bright, fluorescent hair involved.

The New Orleans police took off like scalded dogs during and after Katrina. That's a big city police department, isn't it? I don't recall the LAPD rushing in to quell the Rodney Simpson riots, that took Korean shop-owners and their employees. Even as far back as Watts, nobody was in any hurry to risk their lives suppressing insurrection. And you know the LAPD of that day was chock full of World War II and Korean War veterans who'd seen the elephant. Are a bunch of the Desert Storm/Iraq/Afghanistan veterans wearing blue or brown today? Sure, isolated incidents can be handled easily by paramilitary SWAT teams and the like (see Waco, Ruby Ridge, etc.) but wholesale, full-scale rebellion? There aren't enough police and military in the whole wide world to suppress even 10 million armed civilians, many of them veterans, hunters, fishermen, shooting sports enthusiasts, security guards, outdoorsman and/or a combination of those, much less 50 or 100 million. Just the DEER HUNTERS in this country would constitute the largest standing army in the world, by a factor of 5 or more. Think about it: 25 million armed men & women, most of whom have high-powered rifles with scopes, camouflage gear, ATVs, camps, knowledge of their locale and wood sense.

How many of those Marines said that because they believed it and how many of them said that because they knew they’d be punished if they said otherwise? Questions on a piece of paper and actions on the field are two different things.

Also, the fact that even countries like Nazi Germany and the USSR had to create special political armies to deal with their civilian populations should say how much the military enjoys being used as a politician’s bully boys.

Where does that traditional soldier end up when he’s driven out?

How much loyalty do you think he’ll have to the government that forced him out?

Finally, if soldiers are being chosen nowadays for their political correctness rather than their combat skills, who does that give the advantage too?

Many of the S.A. and S.S. were people cashiered from the military for thievery, lassitude, mental problems, moral turpitude, cowardice, homosexuality, incompetence and other infractions, just like many members of the Gestapo were former policeman let go during the Weimar Republic for similar reasons. Now we're celebrating homosexual/lesbian general officer promotions.

I was looking for that exact passage several weeks ago but couldn’t remember who had said it. Powerful! Every schoolboy should be required to read it to graduate to middle school.

Here where I live, the cops are 0.2 percent of the population. Odds are not in the favor of the local cops. If the local cops side with the federals, their odd increase a little. Yes they have more fire power than the population, but most don't have the will to serve a dictator. At some point their lives and neighbors are worth more to them than their pensions. Paranoia is no way to go through life.

You only will NEED to get ONE. All additional will be bonus, there are still enough freedom lovers to kick the statists asses when they crack down.

This Jim Karger clown has no idea what a neo con is. Neo’s are as gun shy as libs are. Most love gun control as in they would never own a gun. Think Bill Kristol and his dad who was a big time Neocon. I’m thinking this Karger guy just likes the sound of the word.

This is the same government that LOST MONEY selling hookers and booze when it ran the Mustang Ranch...

I don’t believe there is a level of incompetence higher than that.

It’s usually the liberal/libertarian codeword for “Jew” and/or “Chickenhawk” meaning those who talk a good game but never wore a uniform. How that applies to the vast majority of American gun-owners I have no idea.

Well heck, a lot of us are old men, you know what can happen if you get into a fight with an old man who been shooting, practicing, hunting for better than 50 years and figures he hasn't that much quality time left anyway (Old age just don't get better :^)..........Just saying.

BIG talk...small thought.

First they close the highways...
Shut down the rails...
Switch off the electricity...
Turn off the natural gas...
Blow up the odd overpass or tunnel...

Let the local parasites do their “thing” for a few days, you get rid of a certain amount of ammo and work up a real thirst and serious hunger, and then here comes ‘Uncle Sugar’ to trade for information.

WE have screwed the pooch....Kapisch?
