“Romney will announce his choice for Vice President in Norfolk, Virginia at 8:45am EST,” Romney campaign spokesman Lenny Alcivar told reporters in an email this evening.
The announcement is being made at the USS Wisconsin. It’s still unclear whom he will choose, but the odds that it is Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., seemed to increase when National Review’s Robert Costa noted that a charter plane flew from Boston to Ryan’s hometown of Janesville, Wis., today.

Unfortunately many people are ‘staying home’ or at least just voting down ticket. Why they think that will help to remove Obama I do not know. Their arguments typically say if we have a strong down ticket we can tie Obama’s hands, but that isn’t true - the man just does what he wants and no one stops him. I’m really p.o.’d that people think not voting or just not voting for Prez is okay.
I was almost prepared to stay home too, but if Romney picks Ryan-or Rubio or Jindal- I will RUN to my polling place with hope for the future.

Ryan is at about 80% on Intrade. Up from about 20% a few hours ago.
This is a very lively argument. Vote Mitt, vote a spoiler/protest, vote nothing (virtually nobody is saying vote Obama). If Mitt were to keep all his current campaign promises it would be very little to worry. But Mitt waffles and Mitt has been very leftist (like the first implementer of gaaaaay ‘marriage’). Of course Obama will never ever accuse Mitt of being too leftist.
Ryan would be a very credible GOP act to follow eight years of Romney.
Better choice would be for Mittens to abdicate the top spot and be the VP.
Well, the truth is, if you are in a battleground state, vote the heck for Romney. Period. You can’t believe in constitutional America and do otherwise.
But if you are in a state that won’t matter, vote your conscience, stay home, down ticket, as you wish.
The only negative is the Dems have a campaign against him already.

I predict if there is a Ryan-Biden “debate”, the media will declare Biden the winner even before the “debate” is held.
If it’s Ryan, I’m very happy. Finally a reason to vote for Romney. Again I’m voting for a VP!
Ryan is very smart and principled man but, if he's the choice, the Democraps will go all-out to demonize him as a heartless cost cutter. They've been at it already for some time.

I would guess by 2016 at least 60% (maybe closer to 70%) of the working population will be working for the government, many more welfare recipients than we see today and private sector workers will indeed be the minority voters. People do not vote themselves a pay cut or worse out of a job.
This is not your typical democrat vs republican election. It’s not even liberal vs conservative or liberal vs RINO. It’s not even Obama vs Romney.
It’s Obama vs you and me.
Socialism vs America.

BTW, a bit of trivia concerning the battleship Wisconsin. Her bow is actually from her incomplete sister, Kentucky. The Navy was making plans to convert Kentucky into a guided-missile battleship when Wisconsin was damaged in a collision and had her bow crushed. They removed the required section from Kentucky and repaired Wisconsin with it. There are markers on Wisconsin showing where the patching took place.

If it's Ryan the Republicans will lose big. Practically every one of the 50%+ on government transfer payments of some kind will vote against the Republican ticket.

If Mitt turns around after his virtually certain win (all he has to do is bumble less than Barack) and then pulls a Ronald Reagan act in the Oval Office, it will cause the whole world to wonder. But while we’re dreaming why stop there?

On KOS, they are saying one of the Super-Pacs ALREADY has 20 Anti-Ryan commercials ready to go.
They will all be lies and half-truths about the Ryan Budget, but since when does lying matter to a Democrat?
Depends on what you mean. If hard times end, few will regret leaving food stamps behind. And even those who file no Federal tax are still impacted by such taxes upon others — it raises the prices they have to pay.
If Mitt is a waffler, Obama is a confirmed radical leftwing socialist. With Mitt, there is at least some hope he can be pressured into a few conservative agenda items. With Obama it will be big fat ZERO.

Ryan will be made the poster child of Mediscare. The Rats will scare the seniors 24-7 that their social security and medicare will be killed by Ryan. A ryan look alike was already in their commercial pushing grandma off the cliff.
