Bloomberg Suggests Police Stop Protecting People Until Gun Control Enacted
NewsBusters ^

Appearing as a guest on Monday's Piers Morgan Tonight, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg recommended that America's police officers should go on strike and refuse to protect people until gun control legislation which would allegedly make them safer is enacted. Bloomberg:

(Video can be found here.)

Well, I would take it one step further. I don't understand why the police officers across this country don't stand up collectively and say we're gonna go on strike, we're not gonna protect you unless you, the public, through your legislature, do what's required to keep us safe.

Bloomy is simply bat-shit crazy. He lives in an echo-chamber that blocks out all facts and common sense.

Blmbrg is simply expressing the desires of his acquaintenances and associates. Never mind he suggests applying those desires to over 300 million Americans—they know what is right and are certain that everyone agrees with them.

Perhaps it is time to ask them if they would like greater autonomy as a political entity. They already have a separate NYC taxation system, their own public services, welfare system, and an economic base in the finance industry. They could become known as the NYC autonomous region and tax/regulate themselves into a state of sublime joy. They can forever print articles about how brilliant and cultured they are and how backwards and troubled the US is — just like the old Pravda did. Of course, before arranging for this new autonomy, it would be necessary to allocate that portion of the US national debt to them corresponding to their population. Let the bondholders know their bonds will be serviced as obligations of the “NYC Autonomous Region”. Blmbrg can be the first king. San Francisco, I believe, has already done this. \sarcasm&jest

Brave people with a moral compass under arms don’t need a lot of policing.

Is Bloomberg inviting riots? Because that is what will happen in NYC if the police go on strike.

What an incredibly irresponsible and incompetent thing to say.

“...police officers should go on strike and refuse to protect people ...”

First: - they have ZERO obligation to “protect” anyone.

Second: - unless they’re standing directly aside you at the exact moment of the crime, they ain’t protecting squat.

Third: - and this is the key point here - Bloomberg is a fascist POS, and the day HE (and every other liberal piece of garbage) gives up his armed personal protection, then I will. Until that day, dear Mayor Bloomberg, GFYself.

This man is an odious piece of scum...couldn’t wait to wade in the blood of innocent crime victims.

**** “If the police went on strike and stopped “protecting” people, the public would not notice a measurable difference in how well “protected” they are IMO. Remember this, when seconds count, the polce are minutes away.” *****

#1 They are “Revenue Enhancement Agents” that is their first priority ... (Wear that Seat-belt! We are here to protect you from yourself!)
#2 They will take your Statement after a Crime is committed and then look for violations that they can Fine you for and then process the paperwork.
#3 “IF” they recover your stolen property they will inventory and catalog it ... then hold it for evidence (or until the next scheduled Auction) then sell your stuff cause you didn’t have a receipt
#4 They will make sure that you do not harm the Purp
#5 They will pull you over and ask you “Where are you going?” (guess they just feel the need to give directions) because and I quote “After the Sun goes down the Cockroaches come out”
#6 They will get tons and tons of new Toys to play with while they think of new ways to enhance revenue.
#7 Shoot your Dog

I can’t wait till they go on strike ...

TT

Drunk drivers need to be stopped, especially repeat offenders but we are allowing Mothers Against Dads Driving (MADD) establish the definition of "under the influence." Cops used to be able to use a little discretion, now we have absolute standards.

Don't forget, nagging women once convinced America to ban alcohol - how'd that work out?

BTW, I never drive under the influence.

I'd say recall, but NY deserves every bit of the misery Bloomberg has brought them.

One thing Freepers can do is boycott Bloomberg LP and all of their subsidiaries.

"Bloomberg has privately indicated he cannot support Mitt Romney in 2012 because of Romney's positions on social issues such as abortion and gun control even though he feels Romney would be better at running the country than Obama." -wiki

Oh mercy, ping the Mittens Derangement Syndrome crew lol...

” The only thing Bloomberg would accomplish is selling 10 million more guns. “

Which, in and of itself would be a very good thing!

Go ahead. Make my day. That portion of taxes currently alloted to law enforcement compensation, benefits & pensions, and the criminal adjudication system it feeds? We the taxpayers keep that.

Initial results: A lot of well-meaning, harmless folks dead at the hands of emboldened criminals... as well as more criminal carcasses laid out on the lawns of righteously peeved gun owners.

After one year, surviving citizens will have proven to themselves that they’re just fine without union-extorted Monday morning quarterbacking of their defensive kills. In the absense of police, no businessman gives a crap about the burglars found in sprung booby traps in the morning as long as there’s room for customers to step around.

That’s a great idea. It would send gun/ammo sales through the roof and create a thousand vigilante groups. Is he nuts?

Police officers are the only/final thing keeping this country from a quick descent into chaos and civil war.

Inner cities would explode, Occupiers would run rampant, and 2nd Amendment exercisers would mop up.

Go ahead Mike, put the NYPD on a 30-day furlough.

24 hours after he did he would be begging for the National Guard to come in and restore order.

So Bloomie is telling the NYPD that they should go on strike. Does this mean that he won't use the Taylor Law if they do?

In a sane world This terrorist enabler and sympathizer would be arrested, tried and punished severely for treason.

Definitely not a sane world though
