Physicists say they have all but proven that the "God particle" exists. They have a footprint and a shadow, and the only thing left is to see for themselves the elusive subatomic particle believed to give all matter in the universe size and shape.
Scientists at the world's biggest atom smasher plan to announce Wednesday that they have nearly confirmed the primary plank of a theory that could restructure the understanding of why matter has mass, which combines with gravity to give an object weight.
The focus of the excitement is the Higgs boson, a subatomic particle long sought by physicists.

Or a particle God created....
Since they are really obsessed with proving this particle exists, I can’t but wonder if that may taint their research a little.
With humans, the answer is...pizza!;-)
No physicist calls it that; that’s a headline term some clown of a journalist came up with. It’s just the sort if thing someone who has no ability to understand particle physics comes up with to sound dramatic.
Nah. Just because the Standard Model of Physics is based on the Higgs Boson ('God Particle') existing, and without it modern Physics collapses into a world of meaningless nothing-less, has no effect at all on their research or findings.
After all, these guys are 'scientists'(1).
(1) The only one of them I'd trust is Leon Lederman and he isn't over at CERN. He's living 'next door' to me in Batavia, IL, and 'semi retired' now (iirc).
[It's where Fermilab is - a very cool place to visit]

Me too, we may be approaching the point of critical ass, the point at which anything posited to exist can be found if we spend enough money looking for it. There are many theories of reality and reality has been said to be the only illusion we all share. Some go so far as to say that anything, repeat anything, can be found if we assume its existence and look for it diligently enough. That idea seems to fit with my very limited exposure to string theory.
Owow. God must exist if scientists say it’s so.
Anyone who believes this probably believes that Obama loves his wife.
CAIR will no doubt soon file a law suit demanding that the God particle be referred to by its proper name .... the Allah particle.
God is the Holy and Sovereign Divine Person Who created all the particles...
... authored all the laws of nature...
--and gave man intellect, an inquisitive desire to discover the wonders of His creation...
--and the freedom to seek a relationship with the Creator!
Will the ushers please come forward...
God bless...

Well, once they find this particle, they’ll have to start looking for the particle that drives this particle. We are so arrogant to think we understand the universe - sheesh.
I think God made that particle. Yup. That simple.
Thanks John W.We can't have too many topics about this. ;')
There is no particle which could create or account for that.
The interesting particle out there is Ralph Sansbury’s sub-electron particle or ‘subtron’. THAT is the thing which explains gravity and probably light.
