Rep. Darrell Issa threw down the gauntlet to President Obama in a letter to the president that accuses him of being involved in the Fast and Furious operation.
The Hill:
Issa took issue with Obama's assertion of executive privilege over a cache of documents at the Department of Justice - including a February 2011 letter later withdrawn by the agency - that Issa believes includes information on Holder's role in Fast and Furious.
"Either you or your most senior advisers were involved in managing Operation Fast and Furious and the fallout from it, including the false Feb. 4, 2011 letter provided by the attorney general to the committee," Issa wrote to Obama. "Or, you are asserting a presidential power that you know to be unjustified solely for the purpose of further obstructing a congressional investigation."

In case you missed it...
Of course the m*^%#ers in the MSM do not believe this newsworthy. At least I haven’t heard a word about this from them yet.
He will settle for Holder on a stick?
I like Issa being methodical where Obama basically backed himself in the corner.
I like how he initially said that he didn’t think Obama was directly involved (knowing full well he was) and then giving Obama enough rope to politically hurt himself.
Rather than being smarter than everyone else, Obama has simply never been challenged before. He has gotten a pass. Issa isn’t giving him a pass. Yesterday’s expedient lie may turn into tomorrow’s serious problem.
This case will be a true test of the power of the “new media” - since the SRM is completely ignoring it.
BFL
Issa is just highlighting that fact.
The paper/ink and broadcast (with the possible exception of FOX and maybe CBS - they're sniffing a Pulitzer if this all really blows up) media will ignore this, of course. That's a given. So it's up to the alternative media to keep the underground fires lit and burning. Sooner or later, like with a coal mine fire, surface cracks and cave ins will appear.
Only NY Slimes article I could find on today’s headlines:
Maybe the news about Issa’s memo is on page eleventy-six.
I have always wondered, of the documents Issa is asking for, how many has he already received under the table? I suspect soetoro and holder are wondering the same thing.
Find a whistleblower (a concept the left loves) and have him talk on Capitol Hill. Heads will explode.
I think he does have them and is holding the card close to his chest. I don’t think he would be this forceful if he didn’t.
*at least I hope*
Hubba. Hubba. Hubba!
MurderGate ping.
Issa would make a great U.S. attorney general. Oh snap, he would probably make a great president!
Bingo. Nicely played by Issa, and a cookie for you in recognizing it. Issa's much craftier than than the regime.
Looks to me like Issa wasn’t the one escalating the potential for a confrontation.
The more I see the more I am sure Obama wants to find some confrontation so big as to take the economy off the table and let him demagog the issue into President for Life, w/o elections, congress or the courts to second guess his reign.
People on this board have been criticizing Issa for his pace, but I think he has been masterful. He is playing chess, thinking three moves ahead; Obama and such are playing an impulsive game of checkers.
Keep it up Issa.
Too bad there is no modern day Woodward and Berstein interested in a freakin’ Pulitzer Prize.
Wouldn't that be "DOGMEAT"?
I agree with your remark about a whistler blowers. After congress finds Holder in contempt some people will start to feel the heat. Phone calls will be made to Issa for immunity. Then get out the popcorn.
Just a coincidence the neo-marxist Democrats had legislation all prepared once the F&F scheme worked out as they hoped it would:
Legislation Introduced To Stem Gun Trafficking
Bill by Reps. Maloney, Cummings, McCarthy empowers law enforcement to keep firearms out of criminal hands—
WASHINGTON Today, U.S. Representatives Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY), Elijah Cummings (D-MD), Ranking Member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) introduced the Stop Gun Trafficking and Strengthen Law Enforcement Act.

IF Issa were a Democrat and Obama a Republican, the Democrat Propoganda Media (call them what they are, LSM or MSM or any other acronymn is merely covering it up) would be covering nothing else - they’d even supercede their sport’s coverage and their Zimmerman or Sandusky coverage for it.
Exactly right. Nixon’s scandal was every night, 7 days a week on the nightly news.
Nowadays... the Kardashians have new boyfriends!
Does that mean Issa is a racist?
5.56mm
There have been numerous reports that Issa has an internal source who has provided copies of emails. Those apparently can’t be used so he’s seeking to get official versions of them.
No, dogmeat is not Halal, Obama Hussain would not touch it...
The audacity of arrogance is catching up with 0bozo.
I didnt believe it until I saw for myself. An ENTIRE WEB PAGE worth. Must give props to cBS on this attempt to scoop the other networks. :)

I appreciate Issa’s straightforwardness, Attorney General Issa perhaps ... His timing is good, the MSM were going to focus on Bobo’s campaign swing and exclude Mittens this week, but they’ve been forced to report on every single move Issa makes...
Of course they know. The problem is what does Holder have in his files on the GOP congress. From experience we learned that our guys have plenty of skeletons in the closet and the democrats are not afraid to use it.
You said ...

Question: Why could not Obama use Issa's investigation as a "racist" attack on his presidency? Do you think Issa's timing is such that F&F will come to a head after the November elections?
Check it, at the page linked, the NYT yammering editorial was pre-sched to the minute -- but notably it had to be rather fugly reconstructed in light of the coming-to-light of F&F's illegal ops.
The story was released YESTERDAY. Issa sent the letter and gave it to the press in the middle of the night with the admonition that it be embargoed until morning. I first saw it in Washington Post.
Kicking Obama’s butt ping!
Great letter.
Never happen.
Pulitzer Prizes are awarded by Columbia University - where Obozo once studied and they are heavily invested in him.
Nobody would ever win a prize for any journalism that hurt 'the won'.
Since Obama has already said he has eaten dog meat...I stand by my question for frogjerk.
From the CBS news info that you linked: “The Justice Department disputes that, and says approving the wiretap applications doesn’t mean Breuer actually read the applications or was aware of the tactics of letting guns walk.”
I’ve seen this before but it bears repeating. Just because the wiretaps were approved doesn’t mean they were read.
That is a blatant violation of the Constitution. And if you think it only happend “this time” then I’ve got a nice piece of ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.
BTW, how many search warrents to Judges approve without reading them?
An admission like this and nobody seems to give a damn.
I postulated last week that he already had them ALL.
Follow her on Twitter: @Sharyl Attkisson -- she'll follow you back!
For those of us who read people’s faces for a living, that snapshot of Issa is pricelessly rich in detail.
Why try to hide something, if there is nothing to hide.
It’s very much like a judge once said about an accused invoking 5th Amendment protections in court:
“1: The person exercising their rights under the 5th Amendment has the absolute Constitutional right to do so.
2: The jury will be instructed as to that right and told that they must not, in any way, hold the exercising of that right that against the person doing so.
3: Back in the jury room, regardless of the instruction shown in #2, most jury members thinking someone “taking the 5th” is guilty as hell, otherwise, why not answer the questions?!?!”
So it it with Obama. Regardless of whether or not the claim of Executive Privilege is upheld, most Americans will think Obama has something to hide.

Not sure if that is the same palm tree in the background Timmy Russert
interviewed years ago on Meet the DePressed.. if so, it's moved up in the world.
