The producers behind HBO's "Game of Thrones" would've been better off had they simple said what is likely the truth, that they hate George W. Bush and impaled his prosthetic head on a pole for the kind of childish shits and giggles the Secret Service might want to look into. Instead, they offer absurd explanations that, in my opinion, only prove what sniveling weasals (sic) they really are:

I once saw for sale urinal cakes with Obama’s photo on them.
I dislike Obama, but that was too much.
I see the Left isn’t so principled.
In before the long list of links.
I did a search and nothing showed up. I didn’t want to post the article, so I did a search to see what people had to say about it —— nothing.
All these websites moaning about this have given so much advertisement to the fact that his head was on a stake. Something which I am sure less than 1% of the viewers actually noticed while watching. On the dvd they mention that it was not intentional to use the head but they worked with what they had. Since I love the show I will give them the benefit of the doubt and believe what they say. This is being blown way out of proportion, and why do people even care about this?
The article from Breitbart points out that the first excuse was that no one on the set noticed it until it was too late, then they changed their story to they went with what they had available - B.S.
This is a despicable stunt. If it had been Obama’s head, would it have been, “just what was laying around?” No, and it would even have been called a racist stunt.
Another one for you.
The purpose of this latest ‘Tempest in a Teapot’ is to bring up the name ‘Bush’ during this election cycle. The episode this originally appeared on was over a year ago.
They (Liberals) want people to make a big deal about it to draw attention away from Romney and once again make this election Obama v. Bush. Getting upset about it now is playing into their hands.
They want you to be upset and make noise pointing to a largely popular TV series. It just makes conservatives look dumb. Be upset about unemployment, be upset about Obamacare, be upset about any number of things he’s done - ignore the tomfoolery of his supporters. It won’t stick to Obama - he didn’t put the head on a pole.
Two things.
First, George RR Martin is a liberal who loathes Bush.
Second, George RR Martin is an extremely talented man, quite possibly the best we have seen in a generation in his genre.
I appreciate what the man creates, regardless of his politics. I would recommend his writing to anyone who enjoys a good story, not just the Game of Thrones stuff but his earlier works like Wild Cards.
I think that it’s plausible they had a Bush head and needed a prop - plus it’s facing away from the camera, and wearing a wig to make him look different. I really think this is much ado about nothing.
Saw it posted earlier today with a photo of the head on a “geek news” site. Despite the link title saying “topless” there’s no nudity on this page at least. Think it’s a “new movie” Star Wars joke...

Also you have to be mindful of who did the beheading etc.. If its the “bad” guys doing the beheading then it is sort of a compliment. Think about it in the same way as being hitlers enemy.
Just replace Bush with JugEars and watch the Leftist’s heads explode!
I guess they think it will create buzz and make lots of people go see the movie.
Reprehensible.
Having loved Deadwood and Rome (bought the Blu Rays) I eagerly DVR'd it.
I was underwhelmed (to say the least)
I just didn't get whatever everyone else is seeing.
I think that you’re probably right. I would like to see someone do the same with the likeness of Obama, though and watch the reaction. Maybe someone could make one of those fake shrunken heads to look like Obama and make a bobble head out of it, and see how that goes over.
Bullshit on that tripe
And i had my issues with George
“I dislike Obama, but that was too much.”
He’s emptied his bladder on us for years now, so I would have no problem returning the favor.
“we had to use what heads we had lying around.”
The fact that they had a decapitated prop head of George W. Bush lying around is enough for me to know what kind of people we are talking about.
I doubt that they intended this, but any libs on the set who thought that this would be funny only managed to imply that GW was one of Ned Stark’s men; i.e. one of the good guys. And they probably didn’t realize that since Obama is the Joffrey Baratheon of American politics, an abusive, spoiled child who throws tantrums when he doesn’t get his way, the prop makes sense from that perspective as well.

Bush's severed head on a spike. The scene first aired last year and was repeated on a DVD release in March. But in a particularly bad piece of timing for HBO, stories about it spread online this week, when the network premiered a documentary on Bush's father, former President George H.W. Bush. Bush's head was one of several on spikes in a scene where King Joffrey reveals to his fiancé the severed head of her father, who he had judged disloyal. The... |

Show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who noted the appearance in the series' DVD commentary, insist it wasn't a political statement - just a prop. But the image has provoked outrage among some Republican politicians. |
