Obama’s War on Bald Eagles
The Washington Free Beacon ^ | May 14, 2012 | The Washinton Free Beacon Staff

Obama administration proposes loosening rules against 'programmatic' killing of bald eagles.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife service is proposing to loosen regulations prohibiting the killing of bald eagles for the benefit of renewable energy companies.

The Heritage Foundation’s blog “The Foundry” reports on the latest instance of the Obama administration’s war on wildlife:

A draft regulation first filed in April would allow businesses to apply for 30-year permits allowing them to kill bald eagles in the course of other legal activities. The length of those permits would be a six-fold increase over the five-year window allowed under current law.

The USFWS explains at FederalRegister.gov: “We have reviewed applications from proponents of renewable energy projects, such as wind and solar power facilities, for programmatic permits to authorize eagle take that may result from both the construction and ongoing operations of renewable energy projects. During our review, it became evident that the 5-year term limit imposed by the 2009 regulations (see 50 CFR 22.26(h)) needed to be extended to better correspond to the timeframe of renewable energy projects.”

The Free Beacon’s Andrew Stiles previously reported on how the Obama Administration’s “mean green killing machines” are decapitating golden eagles, threatening hundreds of baby tortoises, and disrupting protected kit fox populations in California.

Bird enthusiasts are also calling on the Obama administration to repeal an obscure mining regulation that is resulting in the deaths of a million or more songbirds a year.

Crows flock and scavenge off humans. Ravens are more solitary and live in less populated areas. It may only be the perspective of the photo.

Or with the vulture, which more closely represents and resembles his leftist regime.

Amazing that the usually highly vocal enviro wacko lefties are silent on this. I guess, since it’s being done by “the one”....it’s an act of their little tin god and ergo, perfectly acceptable.

Lefties are nothing if not flaming hypocrites.

Not really a shortage of them... I’ve seen more this year than any other year in the past.

Heck, almost hit one on the road about six weeks ago, it was freakin scavenging on some road kill and WOULD NOT move so I swerved into the opposite lane.

Saw a young one that hadn’t totally got it’s adult colors/markings on a lamppost about a week ago.

No secret why the ever eco-conscious left, especially Obama, wants to eradicate Bald Eagles. They are a symbol of American freedom.

Possible they want to replace it with a little known bird much loved by Obama’s father and so probably has similar place in Jr’s symbology.

The rare African Kerchunk Kite. It is a fitting replacement for the Eagle as it symbolizes not only Obama’s Keynesian Socialist economic policy, but his foreign policy handling. It is known for the pattern of behavior that gave it its name. It is always confused about the proper course, so it flies in ever decreasing circles until it disappears up its own backside with a resounding “kerchunk.”

[I would suggest that the “Kite” part of the birds name has some significance relative to the current “quantitive easing” of buying our own debt to “hide the decline’ in the dollar - but surely they wouldn’t be that arrogant?]

Yes, there’s a lot left.

But that’s all for his next term.

No he’s right. Bald eagles will feed on carrion.

Once while floating/fly fishing California’s Fall River, I spotted a flock of vultures feeding on something in a pature downstream. As I neared the scene I spotted a bald eagle feeding among the vultures. Surprised me then, but I have witnessed similiar scenes several times since that 1977 sighting. Bald Eagles will eat anything handy, and aren’t particular who they dine with!

I know for sure because I’ve seen bald eagles often here in western Washington.

And when they are on the road twenty feet in front of you, you don’t mistake them for a vulture.

Jeesh dude - do you believe everything you read?

But I thought ‘renewable energy’ was about SAVING the environment.

Oh wait, I forgot Obama’s buddies making billions off of us is more important.
