(Virgil)Goode: Romney ‘father of homosexual marriages’ (Constitution Party Candidate)
Augusta Free Press ^ | 12 May 12 | Augusta Free Press

Posted on 05/14/2012 10:53:24 AM PDT by xzins

Former Fifth District Congressman Virgil Goode blasted presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney as “the father of homosexual marriages” in a statement released to the news media on the eve of Romney’s visit to Liberty University this weekend.

Goode, now running for president on the Constitution Party ticket, referred to Romney’s move as Massachusetts governor to issue same-sex marriage licenses in the wake of a state-court ruling.

“Gov. Romney did not stand fast in favor of traditional marriage,” said Goode, who lost his Fifth District seat in 2008 to Democrat Tom Perriello.

Goode said he has been a “consistent supporter of defining marriage as being between one man and one woman.”

“At this point in our country’s history, we need a president who will stand firmly behind traditional marriage and the Federal Marriage Amendment. I am suspicious that Gov. Romney, if elected president, could waffle again,” Goode said.

The stakes, to Goode: “If homosexual marriages become normal across the country, the impact on states like Virginia, which prohibit gay marriage, will be huge. State taxpayers will have to pay for the expanded health insurance costs and State retirement costs. At the federal level, the impact on the Social Security Trust Fund and the Department of Defense will be significant when homosexual partners are granted the same monetary benefits that heterosexual married couples have under current Social Security law and provisions covering military spouses,” he said.

“If we waste our votes on Nut Goodie we’ll be far better off as “The First Gay President” is unleashed in his second term.

Many of us do not buy the argument that a vote for anyone but Willard is detrimental in the long run to Conservatives.”

What, the same week the President advocates for Gay Marriage, defends his trillion tax hike *AND* launches a defense of socialism and an attack on business ... and you are still pedddling the “life will be fine with Obama” baloney?

Many of us do not buy the argument that America and conservatives can tolerate another Obama term.

as for ...
“ a chance for a true Conservative nominee in 2016. “

Yeah, by which time the Obama socialist agenda will be fully locked in place and the election will be about who’s wallet to rob to pay for the 8 years of Obama’s massive deficits.

if you want to know what that mess looks like, check out Greece.

You miss the point, my FRiend.

Why bother? You're posting to a someone whose going to vote for the perfect candidate - himself.

No sense even trying to reason with someone when they're on a mission from God.

MY kids (both of whom currently wear our Country's uniform) and my grandchildren absolutely deserve a Romney presidency. Absolutely. No question, no contest. No equivocation.

The alternative, a scorched-earth, Republic-decimating Obama second term is scary beyond words. You are much more likely to keep your private property and wealth and firearms under Romney than Obama, and if you like FR, you are more likely to have the freedom for this type of forum as well.

Trust?

I trust ME to inform myself and make a decision that favors my (adult) children's and grandchildren's future.

Oh, I see...it's his religion.

You sure sound like you are demanding that I answer your questions.

I do not respond well to such demands, and I absolutely have no reason to answer questions that you throw out as strawmen because you feel you already know the answers and somehow want to show others how evil my faith is.

On the religion threads I have gone over all of these issues, time and again, with those like you, notably your so-called "flying inmans."

Perhaps you can call them all here and make this another of those threads. If you do, you can do so without me and create another 500 or 600 posts into your self created echo chamber.

If you sincerely want to know what I believe, read the following:

My Witness for Christ

Then contact me via FRemail and I will prosilyte you. (Pardon my pun and sarcasm)

As to Romney, you distort his record and beliefs. He governed liberally, he changed his stance on abortion. He always supported marriage as between a single man and a single woman.

I do not like his record. But Christ made it possible for people to change. He says he has, and in this case the possibility of his change, based on his published stances on the issues, is a far better opportunity for this Republic than Obama and his clear destruction of America and promise for a doubling down on it in the next four years.

If you do not agree with that, fine...but please, stop trying to drag religion into it, and stop trying to act like you are the end all to what other people can and should believe...and why. 'Cause, simply put...you're not.

Other than that...have a great evening.

I think your list of timeline highlights omits some significant events. You left a lot of gaps for some reason, I will fill those in using info from the same source I believe you did (red):

Why would you leave those other posts out icwhatudo?

It is clear that Romney governed liberally in Mass. He had to, the legisalture was 85% DNC.

Sorry Jeff but that is a blatant lie.

As governor, he had a veto pen, but refused to use it.

He didn't govern as a Progressive Liberal because he had the figurative gun of the left-wing legislature at his head, he governed as a Progressive Liberal because that is what he is at his core.

~ ~ ~

You don’t mention Romney’s pro-sodomy actions.

Tell me what you don’t like about Mitt’s record?

Maybe it’s this...people keep track. And how has he ended?
“STANCES”, his words mean nothing.

Romney - pro-choice in ‘94; pro-life in ‘01; choice ‘02; pro-life ‘04; choice ‘05; life in ‘06; then funded abortion in ‘06

Share the pro-life “action” Romney has taken since pro-abortion Romneycare?

You write much but don’t answer my question about Joseph
Smith and Mr. Young stating the blasphemous Mary conceived Our Lord by God the Father so I have to reply in more than one post.

J.H.:
“I do not respond well to such demands, and I absolutely have no reason to answer questions that you throw out as strawmen because you feel you already know the answers and somehow want to show others how evil my faith is.”

I SAID ‘PLEASE’, IT WASN’T A DEMAND, IT WAS A REQUEST, DON’T BE A BABY, I ASKED YOU TO SHARE BRINGHAM YOUNG’S QUOTE AND JOSEPH SMITH’S WORDS IN YOUR REPLY.

YOUR COMMENT WHEN ASKED THIS QUESTION CONCERNING THE INCARNATION WAS TO SAY IT IS THE HOLY GHOST (not God the Holy Ghost) THOUGH OTHERS BELIEVE SOMETHING DIFFERENT, YOU SAID IT WAS ONLY “OPINION.” WHOSE OPINION, WHAT “PEOPLE” WOULD THAT BE? JOSEPH SMITH, BRINGHAM YOUNG’S OPINION? CHRISTIANS JUST CAME UP WITH THE QUESTION WITH NO BASIS FROM MORMON TEACHING AND HISTORY.

Jeff Head previously:
“Mary concieved Christ miraculously through the power of the Holy Ghpst, and was God’s son. That is what the Church teaches. How that occurred is something the Church does not have an official position on other than it was miraculous through the power of the Holy Spirit. Some people have reflected and contemplated about it...but those apparently were their opinions.”

J.H.:
On the religion threads I have gone over all of these issues, time and again, with those like you, notably your so-called “flying inmans.”

I ASKED ABOUT FIVE, -5- STATEMENTS ON MORMON BELIEF THAT IN NO WAY ARE CHRISTIAN. YOU REPLIED TO FOUR AND ESPECIALLY VAGUE ON MORMONS BECOME GODS BUT IN THE END YOU SAID IT.

Jeff Head previously:
“Remeber what Paul taught in Romans 10 and what Christ taught in Matthew. We believe those things and believe God in fact wants us to become like Him because He wants the very best for us and He has it. He loves us perfectly and wants us to have His perfect existance....
That as He created and brought us forth...His own children...and that He would have us do the same thing some day.”

J.H.:
Perhaps you can call them all here and make this another of those threads. If you do, you can do so without me and create another 500 or 600 posts into your self created echo chamber.

JEFF, YOU CONTINUE TO BE PERSONALLY INSULTING.

THERE ARE MANY, MANY THREADS ABOUT ROMNEY. YOU DON’T WANT TO SEE QUESTIONS IN ANY OF THEM ABOUT MITT’S MORMON BELIEFS. TRYING TO KEEP THEM HIDDEN. NO HUMAN BECOMES GOD! YOU WON’T MAKE IT TILL NOVEMBER.

A MAN’S CHARACTER AND VIRTUE COMES FROM THEIR
BELIEFS. THE QUESTIONS WILL CONTINUE, CHRISTIANS WANT A CHRISTIAN PRESIDENT. YOU CAN’T AVOID THE QUESTIONS BECAUSE MORMONISM IS AN APOSTATE SECT. ‘REFORM’ WHAT? ALL ACCORDING TO ONE MAN! GOD DOESN’T CHANGE, THE TEACHINGS OF 2ND PERSON OF THE BLESSED TRINITY JESUS CHRIST REMAIN THE SAME.

First off Reagan did not leave the Democratic Party over principles, he left over philosophy. That philosophy was freedom vs. government control. Secondly, he fought against the trending Republican Party principles of creeping socialism, so it wasn't their principles he embraced. He knew that no 3rd party has ever succeeded in the national political arena. Thus he would not have made the flippant statement you suggest. Instead he would have remained in the party that offered the best chances to adopt his principles, and continued to fight the good fight. The fight for right over wrong, of good over evil. He would never have allowed the greater of 2 evils to prevail.

Reagan would have convinced Goode to run on the Republican ticket, and had he lost the primary bid, he would then have supported the Republican nominee. He would not have supported Goode as a candidate in a 3rd party because he would have known it was fruitless to do so. It only supported the candidate he opposed more.

Obama is not working in a vacuum. Wake up, there are many evil forces in the world that are actively aiding him now. Those that aren't, will when he wins re-election.

The only thing I fear is that too many people like yourself will not recognize that the greatest threat to our way of life, and our freedom, is the re-election of Obama. If that fear is bot realized, then my fear will become that people will think that the battle is over if Mitt is elected. The reality is that we have a long war ahead of us, and it is important that we not lose critical battles along the way. If we do then the war becomes even that much more difficult.

I honestly believe that too many buy into the theory that the American public make up the largest army in the world, but the reality is we are not an army. At best we are the largest number of freedom fighters, who if push came to shove would be severely out gunned and more than likely unable to restock ammo and other supplies, much like the Confederacy.

Right now I believe the best way to wage this war is to focus on the removal of this President who is against everything that America stands for. The next step is to not get comfortable and think all is well, but to keep up the fight.

Fear is healthy, for it alerts us to danger. It is only when we succumb to fear that it destroys us.

I'll remind you of Proverbs 19:23 of the King James version: The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Feb. 5, 2004 Romney publishes editorial in Wall Street Journal laying all blame on the SJC for problem in Massachusetts. Suggests other states strengthen marriage statutes and pass constitutional amendments.

June 22, 2004 Romney testifies before US Senate Judiciary Committee for federal marriage amendment and blames Court for situation in Massachusetts.

None of which justifies a vote for the socialist pro-choice, pro-homosexual democrat former governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney.

Worse than Obama is the brainwashing job that the system has done on Americans so that they believe their recourse is only to Bad Choice A and Bad Choice B.

You have already lost your liberty, brother, if that’s what you’ve come down to. It would mean that you’ve given up and that you’ve got no fight in you.

I’m fighting. Is there a prayer that all conservatives would turn to the one true conservative in this race? Yep.

And if they did, they would outnumber, according to polls for years now, the liberals and moderates that Obama and Romney are both pursuing.

I am not going to fly the white flag to these people.

eviscerates our precious military, confiscates your private property, takes over the vote counting chore for ever and ever (see Russia), controls the internet (and removes FR and all similar forums), controls the airwaves (and gets rid of Rush and Levin and Hugh and all the others), takes over education (so your kids will turn you in for being an enemy of the state or the environment), and confiscates your firearms, you can rest assured that you made a difference

I can see that fear is driving you. I understand that.

I don't have that same fear. I intend to fight instead.

And I'll not go to the fight with a weapon that's proven to blow up at any given moment, I'll not take a Romney to that fight.

Romney IS Benedict Arnold.

Actually, SoCon, he used it over 300 times. But the overwhelming DNC legislature that I spoke of over ruled vuirtually all of them. You need to do a little more research before you make such statements a basis for calling somone a liar.

Unfortunately many “conservatives” have chosen to behave like democrats in regards to Romney.

Endless posts about Obama’s new found support of gay marriage while avoiding any mention of Romney’s past support of the same and recent support of the even worse gay adoption.
