Clueless is what they are. Jimminy Crickets.
Okay, okay, okay, Boehner - it really is simple. Draft a bill as an extention of the dress code not allowing hoodies on the House floor. Poof - this will send Sharpton, Jackson, Sheila Jackson Lee, and the rest of the black racist caucus into orbit - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!
The rule dates back to 1837.Clause five of rule 17 prohibits the wearing of hats in the chamber when the House is in sessionEvery member shall remain uncovered during the sessions of the House.
Comportment
5. When the Speaker is putting a question or addressing the House, a Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner may not walk out of or across the Hall. When a Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner is speaking, a Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner may not pass between the person speaking and the Chair. During the session of the House, a Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner may not wear a hat or remain by the Clerks desk during the call of the roll or the counting of ballots. A person on the floor of the House may not smoke or use a mobile electronic device that impairs decorum. The Sergeant-at-Arms is charged with the strict enforcement of this clause.
Okay, that’s just stoopit and childish...
More and more petulant every day. CBC is circling the toilet bowl.
535 pillories along the National Mall would be a good start!
Including Ba Ba Frank?
When I heard about the hoodie and sunglasses on the radio, I was reminded of the Unabomber.
Fair enough; the rules should apply to everyone or to no one.
Hoodies. Because you can’t stop a security camera from snitchin’.
Actually, I’ll give ‘em this one. If the rule is to be enforced, it should be enforced consistently. If there is a pressing need to allow members onto the floor improperly attired, the rule can be temporarily waived through procedure.
