Skip to comments.George Zimmerman, Trayvon Martin case: Neighbors describe watch leader blamed for teen's death

Current and former neighbors call George Zimmerman caring, passionate and polite, a regular guy they enjoyed being around...
"The portrayal of George Zimmerman in the media, as well as the series of events that led to the tragic shooting, are false and extremely misleading," his father, a retired magistrate judge, wrote in a letter published in the Orlando Sentinel. "Unfortunately, some individuals and organizations have used this tragedy to further their own causes and agendas."
"George is a Spanish-speaking minority with many black family members and friends," Robert Zimmerman wrote. "He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever."

He’s a “Spanish-speaking minority with many black family members and friends.”
Has that become a get-out-jail-free card for wanton, cold-blooded murder?
Of course this info won’t change anything for the leftists
“”Unfortunately, some individuals and organizations have used this tragedy to further their own causes and agendas.”
Betcha dollars to donuts this retired magistrate voted for hussein last time around. I wonder how much money he donated to the campaign and is that why holder hasn’t slapped the man in jail yet?
I don’t think this is about race. This is about whipping up the masses into a pre-election Occupy-like frenzy to make whitey feel bad about something they didn’t even do.
It’s almost like Richard Jewell, all over again:
It’s funny how quick this story got legs then fell to its knees.
Zimmerman was originally described as a white man. This was supposed to be a white-on-black hate crime. Now he’s Hispanic?
Aww... what happened MSM? All the air come out of your balloon at the same time?
It is your opinion that it was murder.
It is the opinion of the police and many of us here that it was self defense, absent new evidence to the contrary.
-——This is about whipping up the masses into a pre-election Occupy-like frenzy-——
It is also about cleansing the stain of urban, generally worthless, black culture from memory and replacing it with some unreal utopian granma like view of the real bad guy
You have said it perfectly.
I can't believe I'm reading stuff like this at FreeRepublic.
Yeah, just like Jewell, except that Jewell didn’t do anything while Zimmerman hunted down and killed someone.
I thought that the 6'3" hoodie had the perp on the ground b4 being shot.
We should probably just do away with that antiquated old jury trial system.
It’s expensive. Gotta find a way to save money.
Let’s just adopt a new system: trial by Dave.
According to the Police Report, he was 6.0 feet, 160 pounds. Whether that is truly accurate or not, I don’t. Just reporting what is on record so far...
They think it will guarantee the Kenyan Fuhrer's reelection.
I think they are catastrophically mistaken.
From the Charleston Conservative Examiner:
1. The witness reports that George Zimmerman was on the ground and Trayvon is on top of him punching him.
2. The witness says that George Zimmerman was screaming and yelling for help.
3. Police arrive and find Zimmerman bleeding on his face and the back of his head. He also has had grass stains on his back. All this confirms the story told by Zimmerman and the witness.
4. Police play the 911 tape for Trayvon Martins father, who tells police that the voice screaming is not the voice of his son.
Trayvon Martin was a towering 62 football player.
Whatever we do, it’s smarter than drawing analogies to completely different situations.
Your Jewell dog don’t hunt. Jewell didn’t do anything. Zimmerman shot someone to death.
See the difference?
He’s just a wonderful person trying to put his violent past (fighting a cop - smacking his girl around) behind him and get an education.
There is something going on with this. This morning Jerry Rivers was on F & F blaming this more on the hoodie the young guy was wearing.
Could it be this Zimmerman person is Hispanic?
Something up with this.
