There was an overflow crowd greeting Newt Gingrich when he arrived at the Wiregrass Museum of Art in the southeast corner of Alabama on Saturday.

Looking over the hundreds of people packed into the gallery area and spilling down the steps in the main lobby, Gingrich enthused, "What a crowd. I'm really impressed. There must be no one left at Wal-Mart this afternoon."

I am of the opinion that Romney tries very hard to stay out of the spot light. He has a sizeable delegate lead and plenty of funding.

If he goes on “everyday” tv or does stump campaigning, he might screw up and show how unlikeable he is. Which he does regularly.

He’s nowhere to be seen on the Sunday shows tomorrow:

Guest lineups for the Sunday TV news shows, March 11th:
ABC’s “This Week” - Sens. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

NBC’s “Meet the Press” - Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum; Govs. Bob McDonnell, R-Va., and Martin O’Malley, D-Md.; Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn.

CBS’ “Face the Nation” - Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich; Robert Gibbs, adviser to President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign;

CNN’s “State of the Union” - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.

***

And he’s not going to be with newt and rick in Ala on Mon:

Alabama GOP will hold a Debate/Discussion between Newt and Rick on Monday March 12. This can be viewed on C-SPAN 1 at 6:30pm EST. Tell all you know that have not decided between the two.

Des anyone really know the inside of newts marriages? I am sick of hearing it. Newt at 17 was seeing his 26 yo high school teacher, anyone see something wrong here?. They married when he graduated from hs and he had a child at 19. Yet, he completed college, grad school, went on to become a congressional rep and speaker of the house. I find this to be very impressive. I think the record is quite clear that his second wife was a very vindictive and controlling woman. They were separated for 4 years and during that time she was viscous in interviews. Yet, they reconciled for a brief period before they divorced. This could be a mirror image of millions of people. Just one question, how do we know his wives were faithful?

While in high school, Gingrich began a relationship with his geometry teacher, Jackie Battley, who was seven years (or nine years, depending on who is talking) his senior. (According to Gingrich’s second wife, the relationship with Battley began when Gingrich was just 16.) They married in 1962, when Gingrich was 19.

In other words, in HS Gingrich was overweight - probably an outcast, bullied, made fun of, super smart, and likely all alone in many ways.

An Ohio teacher was just thrown in jail (Stacey Schuler) for the same thing that happened to 16 year old Newt Gingrich. Schuler got 4 years.

One of the mothers in the Schuler case on TV was crying because she said the woman had injured her son in ways that wouldn’t be known for years.

There is no good reason for a high school teacher to be carrying on in secret with a minor.

The Journal of Child Psychiatry notes that “there is a tendency among boy victims to recapitulate their own victimization, only this time with themselves in the role of perpetrator and someone else the victim.”

Bill Watkins and Arnon Bentovim, “The Sexual Abuse of Male Children and Adolescents: A Review of Current Research,” Journal of Child Psychiatry 33 (1992); in Byrgen Finkelman, Sexual Abuse (New York: Garland Publishing, 1995), p. 300.

In other words, he worked through his abuse subsequently, and it was not pretty. And then married and has been involved in a stable relationship for more than 11 years. He also has said he asked God for forgiveness and has worked at reconciliation. What more does a flawed sinner do?

Nothing Newt does to repent and put his past behind him will ever be enough for some of the people on FR. It is truly amazing some of the hate on display here, especially by so-called Christians and family-value conservatives. There might be more understanding of the psychological dynamics at play and tolerance for the victim at DU than here of FR, and that’s saying something...

Thank goodness Jesus Christ sees Newt as a new creature in Him. We are all sinners saved by grace... it’s sad some hearts can’t get hold of that... but that doesn’t change the Amazing Grace available to believers, that I, for one, dip into every day of my sinfilled life.

There is nothing that could ever make me vote for Saintorum... I like him less with each passing day.

No to Romney.

No to Santorum.

Hell yes to Newt Gingrich.

your sanctimonious little pencil-neck of a candidate

Love it! Actually, Santorum is such an odious Pharisee that I'm becoming embarrassed to admit that I'm Catholic. But the pencil-necked one does appear to think that he's more Catholic than the Pope, and everybody in any parish in the country has at least one of his type...and we know what we think about them!

Thanks for the heads up re: C-Span discussion.

this is a really big deal, at least to me, and others of my tribe. This may be the one and only time we get to see Newt and Santorum together, and I have enough faith in Newt, he will eviscerate Tricky Ricky. I have reserved a banquet room at a local restaurant, others are having major parties, little backyard events, small dinners, etc.

This could once and for all answer a lot of questions about Santorum v Newt. Could make for some great video afterwards. Please pass around and Invite. thanks. It's do or die.

I don’t think anyone knows the inside skinny of anyone’s marriage. And I, for one, don’t really want to, lol.

Newt has said he sought forgiveness from God for his past. I have no reason to doubt him. If he is not sincere he will face a far larger problem than those condemning him at the electoral level. If people think we have ever had a spritiually pure president, I’d like to know who it was.

Most people do things that they wish they hadn’t done in their lives. Some things are big...some not so big. I will not be the one to judge anyone. Not my job, thankfully.

I think Newt is the one to take on “The One”. Until he drops out..I think I’ll stay that way.

>> “I didn’t sit on the couch with anybody,” Santorum said.

That’s right. Unlike Newt, who was obviously on a safari, Rick voted for big government law; being the compassionate, establishment bit player he is.

The moral vanity surrounding the Santorum campaign is a sure 2012 loser.

Great info True! I have experienced situations well enough to know that what one sees on the outside of a marriage is rarely the truth. Through the years I have known of situations that were eye opening. The women and men that bragged the most about their wonderful relationships, we’re “the last to know.”. I can tell you this, all politicians always have fabulous marriages”..............................and there is one relationship we’re watching that has some big holes in it, something just isn’t normal.

Anybody but Obama!

Screw the other s**t. Lets get Obama, and his left wing flying monkeys out of power and start over before it's too damn late.

We don't have the luxury of finding 'The Best'. We are running out of time to look for the 'prefect' candidate.'

I don't care much for any of them, but this is what we got and any of them are better than Obama.

If you want to have your ideological hissy fit and stay home in November, or do some goofy 3rd party thing, Obama will really appreciate it ... and the Nation will be permanently screwed.

End of message.

That’s about as condescending as the line “why don’t you go deep-fry something” from the movie “Sweet Home Alabama”.

Some of you are acting like shopping at Walmart is a bad thing.

Seriously, you really shop at Walmart?

You don't buy your clothes there do you?

Good that there are at least SOME conservatives up here in the People’s Republic of Oregon. Such a beautiful state - how did it get so messed up?

I am just stunned that many Santorum supporters can’t move beyond trivialities. The country is at the tipping point. Soon the Pauls will outnumber the Peters. Soon the economy will collapse. Are we going to remain free, or are generations to come going to be slaves to government? I’ll be gone....but I have a ten year old niece.....I worry that she’ll be forced into a labor camp someday.....or that a government bureaucrat wanting to assess her quality of life will knock on her door.....or she’ll die violently at the hands of a mob that feel they’re entitled to her property....
