There was an overflow crowd greeting Newt Gingrich when he arrived at the Wiregrass Museum of Art in the southeast corner of Alabama on Saturday.

Looking over the hundreds of people packed into the gallery area and spilling down the steps in the main lobby, Gingrich enthused, "What a crowd. I'm really impressed. There must be no one left at Wal-Mart this afternoon."

The following classless comment comes from Rick. If Newt weren't in the race, I wouldn't vote for Santorum.

"Santorum also took on Gingrich obliquely, reminding the crowd that he and his own wife, Karen, have been married 21 years and home-schooled their seven children. On Friday, he was less subtle in drawing an implicit contrast with Gingrich’s history of marital infidelity, castigating him for sitting on a sofa next to Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) in a TV ad calling for steps to address climate change.

“I didn’t sit on the couch with anybody,” Santorum said. “I would only sit on the couch with my wife. Period. No other women — particularly not Nancy Pelosi.”

Newt doesn't have a tin ear or a silver tongue.

He listens and reads and looks for the truth and speaks the same.

Mitt is a wealthy political bumbler and Rick is a neophyte.

Go Newt!

He is our only hope!

Newt or Romney either one could win this thing, I don’t see how Santorum could. We need to get Santorum out of this race, like yesterday...

There must be no one left at Wal-Mart this afternoon."

That's about as condescending as the line "why don't you go deep-fry something" from the movie Sweet Home Alabama

If Newt is the nominee, the Presidential debates will be glorious.

So glorious that I would bet dollars to doughnut holes that Ubama won't participate.

If Myth or Rick is the nominee, the debates are going to be a disaster that I will not bother watching.

Why? Do you have something against Walmart? I shop their all the time? Maybe you think you’re too good to shop there so you think it’s a slur?

I'll drop what I'm doing and deep-fry anything that can't jump out of the batter. I BBQ instantly on request, too.

That's about as condescending as the line

Why? The first thing I thought upon reading about it was "Newt knows that his appeal is to the regular Joes in this country."

And it's true. Newt is not the candidate of either the country-club RINOs nor the self-righteous moralists with pretensions to betterness.

“I would only sit on the couch with my wife. Period. No other women — particularly not Nancy Pelosi.”

I don't know why Santorum even bothers with these kinds of remarks anymore, he has pretty much sewn up the pharisee-holier-than-thou-whited-wall vote. What a sanctimonious prig. Ugh.

“I would only sit on the couch with my wife. Period. No other women — particularly not Nancy Pelosi.”

This is just about as dirty as a campaign tactic can get. What is he implying, that Gingrich was hitting pelosi? How stupid and childish “ I would only sit on a couch with my wife. Period.”. Is anyone sick of this arrogant, phony, baiting little attorney/politician/xsenator? VinL, I’m with you, he is damn lucky Gingrich is in the race or he WOULD be home sitting on the couch with his wife. PERIOD.

Sounds like Santorum has been reading "Campaigning 101", by barack obama...either that or "Rules for Radicals".

Santorum is the kid that would tell the teacher who talked while she was out of the room, whether she asked him to, or not.

What a dweeb.

What is he implying, that Gingrich was hitting pelosi?

No, he's saying straight out that he is the only one fit for the office of president because of his stellar character, sinless past, faithfulness to his wife, conservative principles, high morals, never jaywalking, always saying please and thankyou, never burping in public, only farting when he can't hold in anymore, telling the truth every single time he opens his mouth, __________ fitb (fill in the blank). What an absolute piece of human crud.
