SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Marine Sgt. Gary Stein first started a Facebook page called Armed Forces Tea Party Patriots to encourage service members to exercise their free speech rights.
Then he declared that he wouldn't follow orders from the commander in chief, President Barack Obama.
While Stein softened his statement to say he wouldn't follow "unlawful orders," military observers say he may have gone too far.

Well that was stupid of him.
Without getting too involved in the story... There is such a thing as unlawful orders and they should not be followed.

Yeah, I remember the spiel from my Navy days but isn’t that more or less like saying that you should not allow yourself to be intimidated by someone who has a .44 aimed at your head?

Maybe and maybe not.
All it took was a few members in Kaddhafi’s army to say they wouldn’t follow his illegal orders. That turned into a route against Kaddhafi as more than half the army deserted, joining provincial militias. Kaddhafi, and his army chief of staff, ended up dead.

That’s not very common in the service... I don’t mean that it’s not common for Tea Partiers to volunteer, but that it’s not common to talk about the Tea Party once in the service.
This fellow would have had to know the way he first put it would raise a furor.
Will they make him wear the fake boobs and bellies, Marines now have to wear during training?
I think they call them ‘Empathy Suits’ to simulate pregnancy so they know what all the female troopeets are going though.
Want all you want, you're not likely to get it back, now or ever, without some "interesting times" being required.
