I just voted in the Va primary. The ballot looked ridiculous. Two names on this huge ballot card, Mortimer and Crazy. I chose crazy. To add insult to injury the polling place had huge signs that saud write in's not allowed. Talk about in your face....

Don’t be surprised if Romney accuses you of “dirty tricks” like in Michigan.

On March 6th, the Republican Party of Virginia will be holding its Presidential Primary at your local polling precincts. Polls open just like regular voting times, 6am to 7pm.
You have 4 choices: Vote for Romney, vote for Paul, stay home/dont vote or show up and do an undervote.
Please do go to the polls and vote, if possible. More votes at the poll show more Republican strength.
An undervote allows you to vote (in person or absentee) by showing up, pressing the VOTE button without choosing either candidate. Some might consider it a protest vote or a blank vote, if you choice is not on the ballot but it counts as a vote in the Republican primary, without adding a vote to either candidate on the ballot.
You are NOT allowed to do a write-in in a Virginia Primary.

The worst part were the “NO write in” signs, this was new. It had a weird third worldishnes to it.

Isn’t it pathetic? My husband called me a little while ago to tell me he voted for the lunatic. I’ll be doing the same thing later.
He said he was the only person in the polling place.
To: central_va
Me, too. I voted pro-life. That meant the crazy uncle.

I would prefer the under vote but it does make sense make sense to try to deny Romney delegates. Reminds me of the questions kids sometimes ask each other, would you rather freeze to death or burn to death or would you rather be hit by the train or jump off this high tressel onto the concrete? Virginians Conservatives have been disrespected and taken for granted by establishment Republicans and left with a choice between Romney and his co-conspirator and I hope you are able to retaliate against some individuals in the future.

What better way to stick it to the pro-Romney priggish control-freaks who put up the “no write-in votes” sign than to vote for Ron Paul?
To: samtheman
Who knows, A Ron Paul win might even inspire a catfight between them.

On [that] world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people.
Odd, said Arthur, I thought you said it was a democracy?
I did, said Ford, It is.
So, said Arthur, hoping he wasnt sounding ridiculously obtuse, why dont the people get rid of the lizards?
It honestly doesnt occur to them, said Ford. Theyve all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government theyve voted in more or less approximates to the government they want.
You mean they actually vote for the lizards?
Oh yes, said Ford with a shrug, of course.
But, said Arthur, going for the big one again, why?
Because if they didnt vote for a lizard, said Ford, the wrong lizard might get in.

If 5 people “undervote” and Romney wins by 4 votes, then you handed him the win. 5 votes for Paul would change that to a win for Paul. Undervoting helps Romney.

On the Ron Paul forums they seem disappointed that Ron Paul apparently didn’t run one single ad in Virginia. I joined their forum last night to tell them their candidate’s a fraud who’s in this only to help hand establishment golden boy Romney the election. Got “zotted” from their forum shortly thereafter.

Would you rather freeze to death, burn to death, be hit by a train or fall off a high trestle and be killed by 2 colliding trains?
Easy! I'd rather freeze to death.
Would you rather vote for Mitt Romney or Ron Paul?
Easy again! I'd vote Ron Paul, poke myself in the ribs with a sharp stick, dig a really deep hole and jump in it.

I see your point, Ron Paul is never going to get the nomination or to be President. That would make him the logical choice between the two but it would still hurt.
