Those Californians grow even fonder of Obama's job performance
IBD Editorial ^ | February 24, 2012 | Andrew Malcom

Posted on 02/24/2012 4:14:43 PM PST by Kaslin

Californians must love $4 gas, enroute to $5. And a stubbornly high unemployment rate.

Now, if only the Golden state could become the official ATM for Campaign Obama. So the overworked guy wouldn't have to deal with any real issues, citizens or media on his regular trips to the left coast.

He could just fly his 747 into LA or San Francisco, tie up traffic, squeeze $35G's out of awed supporters for the same predictable fundraiser speech (change is hard, there's more to do) and head out to milk Western boosters elsewhere.

Oh, wait! He's already doing that every couple of months.

As a result, President Obama's favorable rating in the nation's most populous state, the one that's been experiencing state unemployment around 11-13% in the Obama economy, is improving nicely when it wasn't all that bad to begin with.

Californians have always liked this POTUS. They're liking him even more nowadays. And why not? He spends like California governments. He says he likes them. He's got his own plane, but he likes the idea of regular Americans paying for high-speed railroads that no one would ride and no one can afford.

A new Field Poll just out finds that once again a majority of Californians now rate this president's job performance really positively, at 53%. Only 39% disapprove of his job. Great reelection news for just 256 days from now.

Plus California likes windmills, bullet trains, solar panels and now algae. This will be zero’s legacy.

Zero and Moonbeam forever.

If all he gets when he flies in is 35 G’s we wopuld be better off to have the Government write him a check each time he wants to go.

The flight out there costs in the hundreds of thousands for us.

They’re hoping Obama will bail them out so they don’t have to make any cuts in their state budget.

I guessing that most of the 53% who approve are probably getting some type of government assistance.

The last time a Republican carried California was George H. Bush in 1988. I lived there at the time and voted for him.
He ran on the Reagan record and then threw all the Reagan people under the bus shortly after being sworn in on January 20, 1989.

The depressing thing about California.....the candidate who carries the state receives 20% of the Electoral College votes he or she needs in order to win the presidency.

Single Drivers Of GM Volts Can Use California’s High-Occupany Vehicle(HOV)Lanes

. . .and additional $1,500 state rebate

. . .California has 1,400 miles of roads with lanes designated for cars carrying two or more people. Volt drivers along with drivers of other advanced-battery and zero-emissions cars can use these lanes even if the cars are carrying only the driver.

GM says that cars on congested Southern California roads that use the high-occupany vehicle lanes can save about 36 minutes a day in commuting time.

The ability to drive in the “HOV lanes” in California was a boost to sales of the Prius hybrid when Toyota Motor Corp ramped up sales of the market's dominant hybrid car. But standard hybrids like the Prius are no longer eligible for special stickers to allow access to HOV lanes for cars without passengers. . .

you can’t use the word “bullet” when describing something here in CA.

It sends liberals into a panic.

It’s “high speed rail”, it sounds so...progressive.

and the coastal counties, which basically own the state anyway.

Not enough population in the red counties (working/producing) to make up for the numbers.

25% of this state's population was born overseas, and those are the ones we know about. Just under a million work for the government. Millions more are on some sort of public assistance. Obama comes here because of the wealthy snot nosed entrepreneurs and old money on the san francisco penninsula and in west LA.

On the other hand the productive middle class are fewer every year.

Personally I cant wait until the place runs out of money and the leaches depart for greener pastures.

Field Poll?

LOL

I was polled once by the Field Poll, it was for the 1988 election.

It was a telephone poll, and the pollster (who sounded as though she might have been a college student, except for the dreadful grammar) kept trying to lead (more than a nudge) my responses to support Dukakis and other leftie nonsense. The Field Pollster literally quibbled every time she did not like my non-liberal responses, and she was offended that I supported George HW Bush.

The Field Poll is possibly more liberally biased than NYT or NY Post polls.

.
