Holder tells Congress the Obama administration wants to ban guns
The Daily Caller ^ | 9:29 AM 02/08/2012 | By Chris Cox

Last Thursday, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder appeared before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to answer questions about his role in the deadly “Fast and Furious” gun-running scandal. However, instead of answers, Congress got more defiance, more arrogance, and more wasted time with an attorney general who clearly feels no sense of obligation to the American people or our rule of law.

But for all the stonewalling, there was at least one telling moment at this hearing, and it should concern law-abiding gun owners and all Americans who expect accountability from our government.

In a rash attempt to deflect attention away from himself and his own irresponsibility, Holder let Congress know that the Obama administration is still working toward the day when it can reinstate former President Bill Clinton’s so-called “assault weapons” ban. According to Holder:

This administration has consistently favored the reinstitution of the assault weapons ban. It is something that we think was useful in the past with regard to the reduction that we’ve seen in crime, and certainly would have a positive impact on our relationship and the crime situation in Mexico.
It’s difficult to follow Holder’s logic here, but it goes something like this …

The Obama administration — particularly Eric Holder’s Justice Department — oversaw an epic scandal whereby our own federal government illegally funneled thousands of firearms into the hands of Mexican drug lords. This contributed to the death of one U.S. Border Patrol agent and hundreds of Mexicans.

Cox and the NRA have spent millions of dollars, perhaps billions over the years bribing members of Congress from both parties to suppoert our cause. One would think that for that kind of money, the NRA ought to be able to round up a bi-partisan group of senators and congressmen to publically demand a special prosecutor. Yet all I hear is silence.

HEAR HEAR!!

History Of The Culpeper Flag

The rattlesnake has been used to portray American spirit since colonial days. Benjamin Franklin first conjured this image in a 1751 essay, where he encouraged the 13 colonies to remain a united front against Britain. He described the colonies as a 'snake divided' – each piece could not function on it's own. The rattlesnake began appearing on flags and other symbols of the emerging United States.

The Culpeper Minutemen was a militia group that formed around 1775 in the district near Culpeper, Virginia. They were inspired by the flag that Colonel Gadsden had created with the snake in 1774, but wanted to take it a step further. Their company flag portrayed the coiled snake with the famous “Don't Tread On Me” slogan, but the minutemen decided that was not enough. They raised another defiant fist in the air and added the message “Liberty or Death” to their flag.

They carried their grand flag proudly throughout the Revolutionary War, including the Battle of Great Bride in December 1775. While they were disbanded in 1776, their flag is still flown around the country as a reminder of their sacrifices in battle and the freedom we cherish because of it.

Modern Flag Meanings

Today, the Culpeper Flag is flown for several reasons. First, it is flown just like the American flag, as a reminder of our great country's history. It honors all those that have ever fought to maintain our freedom and the American way of life. The flag is a reminder of all the lives that have been lost so that we can live without oppression.

The Culpeper Minutemen flag also now stands as a strong political statement. Thousands around the country who look to stand strong against oppression, whether it comes from the enemy, or from within our own country, fly this flag proudly. Let your neighbors and countrymen know you will be heard and will stand strong with a Culpeper Flag!

Despite being head of the Justice Department and our nation’s chief law enforcement officer, Eric Holder claims he doesn’t know how or why this scandal occurred, or even who under his charge may have authorized it. He also refuses to turn over critical documents to congressional investigators that could help prevent something this tragic and corrupt from ever happening again.

Therefore, Obama and Holder are confident that if they can ban a large number of the legal firearms that law-abiding Americans use every day for self-defense, hunting, and recreational and competitive target shooting, it will help solve Mexico’s crime problem.

Add another great book to post 6 above. It too is fiction but could be a heads up on our future.

“Unintended Consequences”

A novel by John Ross. 1996

Assault weapons are fully automatic and FDR put a ban (infringement)on them a long time ago. What the the tyros want now is something totally different from what they are saying.

“It has everything to do with self defense.” very true and also don’t forget Thomas Jefferson’s quote.

“God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion.
The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is
wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts
they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions,
it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ...
And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not
warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of
resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as
to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost
in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It is its natural manure.”

We all need to read a little fiction to see what is really taking place. The Turner Diaries, while not a literary masterpiece was just slightly ahead of its time in describing what our government has become. If you don’t mind being uncomfortable in your own skin (regardless of color) it is a quick read and an open (transparent) window into how evil a government can become and way too damned close to this administration.

The Turner Diaries were also a Neo-Nazi manifesto to turn the US into a new Reich. No thanks.

I wonder what percentage of shootings involve firearms that fit his definition of “assault weapon”.

We can’t get rid of these stupid bastards fast enough. It’s a shame that the republicans seem determined to keep them in office....

F&F was not about finding out where the guns were going, it was about fomenting a 'crisis of assault weapons' to invoke or infuriate the public to a new permanent "Assault Weapons Ban".

You do remember a few months back he told The Brady Campaign and others they were "doing something in the background" about restrictive gun-control.

F&F is part of it.

remember how the Mexican President came to the SOTU speech and went on about guns coming from America while those smug gets in the DOJ , Homeland security and the white house all sat there using him to repeal gun rights and knew that the speech etc was all staged.

Thankfully there are a couple of decent people left in the ATF who blew the whistle on their gun running.

In the last few months this admin and his double wide load wife has made remarks about the second amendment and guns.

I know that they will go to take away guns or impose a massive tax on or put more laws on the books if they get a second term

Himmler did it in this order: chicken farmer, chief law enforcement officer, suicide. Now as for the order Holder follows...

Dumb a$$ Holder and obama don’t realize there will be no reduction in crime. Instead there will be an increase in crime as thugs will go after women, especially single women living in remote areas, if they know they can get away with it.

Yep, you’re right, the Second Amendment was never about hunting...

This is why I’m not fearful of any action from a liberal Republican or a liberal Democrat President...

They ban and restrict at their own political peril...

Am I concerned, well, yes...But, at the end of the day, I will still have my guns...

“They (my guns) are not to be utilized as pawns in some half-baked politically charged negotiations about mine, and others, inalienable and moral freedom to keep and bear them...” ~ Stevie-D (2012)

Good stuff, I need to write this one down before I forget it...;-)

It’s not about having the right to own guns for hunting/sporting purposes.

It’s about a person’s right to self-defense against all threats.
