Issa Demands Access to Second US Attorney who Supervised Operation Fast and Furious |
|
WASHINGTON, D.C. Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa demanded in letter to Attorney General Holder that the Justice Department make Arizona U.S. Attorney's Office Assistant United States Attorney Michael Morrissey available to speak with Committee investigators about his role in and knowledge of Operation Fast and Furious. His supervisor, Patrick Cunningham, has stated he will exercise his Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer any questions pertaining to Operation Fast and Furious such an assertion is extremely rare and suggests possible criminal culpability on the part of a high ranking Justice Department official. Morrissey, who reported directly to Cunningham's and was intimately involved with Operation Fast and Furious. "Since August, the Department has identified Patrick Cunningham as the best person in the U.S. Attorney's Office to provide information about Fast and Furious to the Committee," Issa said in his letter to Holder. "The Department has refused to make Michael Morrissey and Emory Hurley, both Assistant United States Attorneys supervised by Mr. Cunningham, available to speak with the Committee, citing a policy of not making "line attorneys" available for congressional scrutiny. Mr. Morrissey, however, was Mr. Hurley's direct supervisor, and an integral part of Fast and Furious. Importantly, both Morrissey and Hurley are unique in their possession of key factual knowledge about Fast and Furious not readily available from any other source." The Chairman also reiterated that the Justice Department still has not complied with the subpoenas issued to date, including subpoenaed documents from Cunningham, Morrissey and Hurley. Attorney General Eric Holder appears before the Oversight Committee on Operation Fast and Furious on February 2nd. Learn more about Operation Fast and Furious at fastandfuriousinvestigation.com. We KNOW Holder is thug-to-tha-max, but to me the real criminals are the US MSM, who refuse to cover ANY of this.
If we didn’t have Codrea and the other guy, and Issa, then there would be NO pressure at all on the biggest scandal in US history.
2 gun authors saved our bacon —that’s it.
And mostly average people still don’t know a thing about this case.
I think we’ll only get justice when our media apparatus is as large as the liberal one (but the trend is towards exactly that).
This is so weird. When W was around the DNCmedia went non stop investigating every fake but accurate scandal they could think of . Now, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
I’m starting to think they might be just a little tiny bit biased in their coverage.
Issa on Fast & Furious: AG Holder and DOJ Continue To Delay Oversight Investigation December 8, 2011
Each complicit level has to provide proof of orders from their superiors or they will take the full brunt of the criminal charges.
No immunity, though there may be some lessening of criminal charges on a case by case basis.
The time it will take at this rate, BHO2 will either be gone or king.
Mexico appears to be willing to have people extradited to them for criminal charges.

As time before the election shortens, the threat of extradition to Mexico might persuade witnesses to testify.
Does Mexico care if they are handed over officially or not? Or will they accept them if they are delivered in an unmarked van wrapped in duct tape? ;^)
Issa, you disgusting puke. You, too, Grassley. Holder and company are murderers and you do NOTHING. YOU have blood on your hands.
The door to Canada’s an hour north by private jet. Don’t let the door hit you on the @$$.
Gee, that's helpful.
What would you have Issa do, exactly?
I really like Issa and think that some of these investigations and hearing will have an impact on the presidential race. Keep up the pressure. Lets get the facts out on this corrupt and inept administration.
Jail them for contempt of Congress.
Jail who? And why?
Issa is a bulldog. He has been handling this very professionally.
Holder for obfuscation and obstruction. “Retracting” or beling caught lying. For not protecting our border agents and for purposefully not answering questions.
Anyone who pleads the 5th.
Cunningham.
These men are murderers. I am so angry about this that I can’t write my defense of my stance well. More later, when I have calmed down.
Enough with these games. It’s like Issa and Grassley are in on it, and that makes them accomplices.
Our so-called government is made a sham by supposed representatives and guardians of our rights.
I agree. I think Issa would be happy with a bunch of DOJ resignations including Holder's, but an intransigent Holder will wind up getting impeached. A trial in the Senate before the election should be interesting with 7 lefties retiring out of the 23 seats the left will be defending.
