Here's what it comes down to:
I am a lifelong Republican which means that I have never voted for a Democrat in my life and never will. That means for every single election at every level for 45 years I have pulled the lever for Republicans.
This year is my final year voting Republican if Romney gets the nomination. I simply WILL NOT VOTE.
I am sick and tired of having my candidates (like McCain) chosen for me by the main stream, Obama-protecting liberal media and the Republican establishment. I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY.
I cannot see how a candidate who won the gubernatorial seat in Socialist Massachusetts can run as a conservative Republican presidential candidate. Something does not compute. But I have it figured out: Romney is no conservative.
Let me say this: if I am of the mind that if Romney gets the Republican nod I WILL NOT VOTE, then you can be sure that there will be many, many others who think similarly.
No, this Tea Party-supporting Republican WILL NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY. I will sit it out - even if it means another four years of that creep socialist OBAMA. I am tired of capitulating to the powers in Washington - whether they be Democrat or Republican.
if you don’t vote, then the american experiment is over
“a boot stepping on the face of humanity, forever”
Verily, verily I say unto you: Thou are not alone!
The RINO-infectitus virus seems to have spread throughout.
The only cure is TEA.
I will not be voting for Romney either.
I am sooo tired of being used by the party.
When the bailouts were going down, it was nearly impossible to get the congressional officials to even take our calls.
So, I don't think a massive outpouring of "No" to the GOP will change the behavior of the party - if a party can have behavior. As the party collapses for want of public support, the more liberal members, like the Republican Main Street folks, will simply join the DEM party.
There are very few in the GOP leadership and elected class who put ideology above personal fortune; and I figure fewer still who care about the fortune of the GOP becoming or staying a majority party; especially if a principle of the party is to actually reduce the power of the federal government.
I’d like to offer a suggestion for a modification to your plan.
Vote for all the downstream races, even though you won’t be voting for Presidential Electors.
Neither the RNC, Rove, nor pretend Conservatives like on Fox News, speak for me. I will not under any circumstances whatsoever vote for Romney. I will vote but I will vote for an Independent Party aligned with true Constitutional Conservatism in his place.
“WILL NOT VOTE”
That is not an option. If nothing else, we need to take the Senate. Vote. Leave POTUS blank if you must, but don’t cut off your nose to spite your face.
The experiment is over already, vote or not. The federal government is probably a hundred or a thousand times bigger than it was designed to be; universal suffrage and entitlements have warped the self-reliant attitude that predominated over the country's ascension. The fundamental values of Western Civ are disregarded and even disrespected; and "demographics is destiny" is working against the remnant.
Universal suffrage is a cause of social downfall; it's part of the step just before benevolent dictatorship (or similar) form of government. Universal suffrage facilitates class warfare and enables the demagogue.
Centuries-old wisdom has been scuttled by the political class - the public is becoming ignorant by design. Now the trick is to keep the public in the belief that it, the public, is in control of its destiny. The vote, as long as you have the vote, you are in control.
I call BS.
Heh. I "no vote" the US Senate slot, because the GOP gives me Snowe or Collins, and neither is acceptable to me. But I always vote. Darn near didn;t vote McCain/Palin; and given a similar choice, where my attraction is driven by the VP, I will NOT vote for the GOP offering. In other words, my vote was not for Mccain, but that is how it was counted, and that is how it should be counted. The man at the top matters, and ONLY that one.
I don't care if the GOP collapses, and I prefer to see the Federal government collapse quickly, and soon. The colonies did okay before the confederacy, and did okay before the federal government turned against the constitution in, oh, about 1915 or so.
It seems the RNC really would rather have Obama than Newt as president. I think they know Newt would be likely to target the permanent political class.
If your face is scarred beyond all recognition it doesn’t matter what you do to your nose.

Vote for Romney?
In the words of one of his endorsers, G.H.W. Bush, “No, it wouldn’t, wouldn’t be prudent. Not gonna do that.”
I’ll crawl over broken glass to vote third party if Romney is the nominee.
This is what they want, and they're afraid a Gingrich nomination will spoil it for them, and he'll turn off so many voters the democrats will retain the Senate and gain the House, thus causing them to lose all that booty control obtains.
Romney Adviser Said Party Elites Will Find Alternative If Romney Can't Win Florida
This is quite the dilemma. I cannot bear the thought of Myth Romney as the GOP Candidate...0bama-lite.
I fully understand the need to build conservative majorities in the Senate and House, but we need to be mindful, too, that the next President is likely to have the opportunity to SIGNIFICANTLY shape SCOTUS. It is arguable whether Myth would make truly conservative appointments, but it is a sure bet that BHO will NOT. I don’t think we can stand 20 - 30 years of a hard left Court.
It is well past time to establish a viable third party in US politics.
If you are from a locked down state it won't matter, if you are from a state that could swing the election...Ohio, PA, WI, VA etc. I implore you to rethink this post.
As Ben Franklin said, "We give you this Republic, if you can hold it", and that means doing some things that while you consider very hard, are nothing compared to what the founders went through.
If you sit out this election and help obama get re-elected, think about Thomas Paine being hung, and you turning your back and staying home and pouting.
The thought of voting for mittens is repulsive to me, but the thought of obama for another four years will end the American experiment.
The thing that gets me is the know romney will LOSE. They really do not want you to vote.
