Holy Carp!
It would seem to me that if levels were high enough to bother fish, that humans would be the first concern.
I guess that’s 1950s Father Knows Best, neanderthal, white man thinking and all.
My first concern would be if the fish could still find the hook.

The earth has seen far higher amounts of carbon dioxide in the air in the past, and yet somehow these fish managed not to go “crazy” enough to die off (or else evolution furnished them to us today). Why has Gaia gone brittle all of a sudden?

It is my opinion, “Professor Munday”, if that’s really your title, that YOU are consuming far too much oxygen as to benefit mankind, and you should cease immediately.

So, one of the main gasses released from volcanoes is carbon dioxide and yet fish survive.
The amount CO2 emissions created by humans over our history can’t even be close to what a volcano emits in one eruption. Just say’n

Carbon dioxide concentrations predicted to occur in the ocean by the end of this century will interfere with fishes' ability to hear, smell, turn and evade predators If so, won't it slow down the predators, as well?
Moreover another member of this institute is complaining about the dropping number of reef sharks. He says that healthy reefs need more sharks--i.e., predators. Maybe they should get together on the same wavelength.
