Newt’s biggest sin marked with scarlet letter ‘R’

Say what you will about Mitt Romney, but here are two words you’ll never hear him utter: “Open marriage.”

I raise this only because I’ve noticed something lately about another of the Republican candidates, namely Newt Gingrich. Women don’t like him. I mean, they really detest him.

This problem predates last night’s “Nightline” interview with his second wife, Marianne, who proved once again that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Good luck avoiding those ABC sound bites today, now that they’re all in the public domain.

Whether or not either of his first two wives was on her sickbed when he first broached the D-word to her, that’s the story that’s out there. You’ve heard of the Second Wives Club. Callista is president of the Third Wives Club.

No wonder yesterday in Walterboro, S.C., Newt surrounded himself with hostages, most notably his grandchildren. Message: How can I be a horndog if I have grandkids, not to mention a brother who’s a cop who supports the Second Amendment?

Last week Newt was a “historian.” Now he’s a good ol’ boy.

So what if Newt was livin’ here, lovin’ there, lyin’ in between. He’s not the first pol of whom it has been asked, “If fingerprints showed up on skin, wonder whose we’d find on you.” Yet he gets cut no slack, which in a way is puzzling. We don’t know his whole cheatin’ heart, but it seems that he marries every woman he cheats with. Shouldn’t that count for something?

Note how the lamestream media is pummeling Newt, as opposed to the way they treated the now-indicted John Edwards in 2008. Edwards had a knocked-up New Age gal pal who had picked him up in a singles bar in Manhattan. He was using campaign cash to keep her and the unborn love child on the lam, shuttling them from one posh resort hotel suite to another, while Edwards’ loyal aide lied that he was the father of the future Frances. And don’t forget the XXX amateur videotapes.

Surely a much more serious breach of marital fidelity than Newt’s serial adultery? Plus, a federal crime if you believe the U.S. attorney in Raleigh. The Edwards scandal was on the front page of the National Enquirer every week. But the moonbat media was unanimous in its verdict. ... Nothing to see here, move along.

Did I mention that John Edwards is a Democrat?

Being a Republican, Newt obviously knew there would be no Bill Clinton-Jesse Jackson free pass for him. Perhaps that’s why he converted to Catholicism — a fresh start. Bless me father for I have sinned ...

Will Newt win tomorrow? I know at least two women rooting against him — hard.

Howie Carr has been pro-Romney since the beginning.

Romney would be the only candidate up there who would not have to utter the words "open marriage". When you're a Mormon there's no need for it. You can just marry the both of them.

Contrary to some here, my wife, and many conservative women do not like Gingrich.

I like Gringrich... but I am usually out of the norm. I do not like shopping therapy and I watch zero tv unless it’s football season. People make mistakes and I find it more interesting that enterprising ex-wives are out claiming their forty minutes of fame. Those women disgust me. Whether you get paid in cash on the corner, or paid attention by the media it can be the same.
