Cain, Perry, Gingrich were all, at one point, up to 35% in the polls. They deflated with the 1st pin prick.

So too Romney. If some conservative candidates would stop cannibalizing the other conservative, and instead aim the same negativity to Romney as they did to Cain - Romney's numbers would fall.

The concerted attack by all conservatives, should be (1) that we are not going to allow the GOP one world order establishment to dictate our candidate and control the party ; (2) that billionaire Romney has absolutely no connection to the everyday conservative GOP voter; and (3) and he will perpetuate the plutocracy -socialism for the rich (bailouts); and hard nosed capitalism for the unconnected.

To be fair, Cain took more than one.

Even the GOP convention knows that it cannot nominate a trio. The non-Romney vote outweighs the Romney vote.

I think there is serious doubt, though, that Gingrich is more conservative than Romney. He may have the edge on social issues, but I don’t think he has the edge on economic issues, particularly in light of this “ethical capitalism” point he’s trying to make. After he threw that out, I found myself asking what else I did not know about Gingrich.

ARG South Carolina Poll: Romney 29, Gingrich 25 (Santorum 7)

ARG Florida Poll: Romney 42, Gingrich 25 (Santorum 9)

You are either all-in for Newt or you're okay with, or resigned to, Willard.

Gingrich: If Conservatives Unite, I Can Beat Romney

Here we go again. Another thread that will end up with “negative advertisements”.

Perry, Rick S, Rick P are all better conservatives than Romney. But their respective supporters advance their candidate, not by promoting their candidates’ positives, but inveighing against the other candidates’ purported negatives.

Stop it- lest one come to the only realistic conclusion— that many on the Board are covert GOP Establishment Romney supporters dead set on tearing down all oppostion.

“Notice that they said that we’re now going to get 90 seconds to answer.”

That set a red flag off for me. Newt is the ONE candidate who can talk. I hope he has a good answer to being muzzled.

I am sure that Mitt is being programmed with the 90s answers even now...

The Rick supporters in SC should put aside their battle for fourth place and vote for Gingrich. For no other reason than knocking Romneycrat out of the #1 spot.

Go SC!

Cain, Perry and Gingrich all self-destructed.

We tended to overlook many of Cain's flaws because of his personality.

Once Rick Perry convinced millions on national TV that he is an idiot, it became impossible to unconvince them.

Newt Gingrich said and did so many things between 1999 and 2011 that he never should have done by anyone seeking the presidency. When he started talking about his immigration (amnesty) plan, it was the beginning of the end with me and many others who consider illegal immigration to be a “top five” issue. His campaign is in complete dasaray. He won't be on the ballot in Missouri or Virginia - his home state.

Newt’s right. Too many political people are dependent on government debt for their incomes, and they present too many stealth candidates from the left. Most of those candidates have no voting records and have been full of nothing more than dishonest rhetoric.

If conservatives COULD unite, we could have a CONSERVATIVE that would beat Romney.

We can’t, so instead we might get stuck with Newt Gingrich.

Well Newt...sad to say they likely will not unite

their egos and lust for power will trump their conservative bonafides with ease

and along with talk radio conservatives abysmally in the Romney camp either openly or by their inaction (except Levin who at least says a bit)

and the Romney News Network..

and all beltway GOP brass

it will now take a miracle to beat Romney....

I have not witnessed anything like this since Ford versus Reagan in 1976

and Mitt will be something like Ford

Social Conservatives are the “niggers” of the Republican party

I think we ought to go through a number of primaries before the nominee is decided. This deciding things after 1 or two primaries and a caucus, is an abject insult for the people in the remaining 47 states. But I know. I know. The media, both fox, and cnn, fan this cr*p 24/7, i.e. the inevitability of Romney.

PLEASE! Somebody land a strong knock out punch tonight on that phony RINO. Lord, please kindly tangle Elder Romney's tongue and lead him unto a major verbal gaffe tonight, exposing his true side of RINOism in a solid conservative state like South Carolina, for the sake of the Republic and for unseating this current President, Amen. Amen.
