Frank Tarkenton wasn't much good in the pocket either.

Elway 1983: 7 TDs, 14 interceptions. 47.4% completions. Seahawks beat Broncos 31-7 in the wildcard game. Hey, it’s not easy being a new QB in the NFL.

SampleMan...

I'm a lifelong University of Florida fan.

I felt the same way, and said the same thing, about UF’s 1966 Heisman Trophy winner, QB Steve Spurrier - a ten year NFL second stringer after being picked Number 3 in the Draft.

I said the same thing about UF’s 1996 Heisman Trophy winner and 1996 national champion, QB Danny Wuerffel - a six year NFL second stringer.

Through sheer will power, Tebow will find a NFL roster spot for many years, but he will never win consistently as a starting NFL QB.

Well...apparently Elway can...and he would know.

At the current stage in his career Tebow has a better record than Elway had at the same point. I love all these couch potatoes pretending to be wise football pundits. Geez.

I like your post.I noticed that the LSU quarterback had none of that last night. The players seemed to give up in the 1st quarter......it was on their faces and no one to lift them.No small thing, that.

Tim Tebow first season 2010:

50% completion rate
5 TD
3 INT
82% QB rating

Elway’s first season:
47% Completion rate
7 TD
14 INT
52% QB rating

Take a look at John Elway’s first few seasons. Yeah he could throw the football through a brick wall but he was dumb as a box of rocks.

Interesting comment on Dilfer. I live near and know Trent. In my opinion he excelled because of his football IQ. He did not have the skills the analysts treasure. All he did was win.

Tebow should have shut these jokers up with his performance against Pittsburgh.

It can't happen and it will never happen. The Tebow phenomenon is only as good as his next game but it's a "moving the goal post kind of thing". With every win there's a week of silence from the haters who are waiting for him to lose. And when he does, they're going to be unjustly all over him saying ridiculous things like "where's your God now Tebow?"

God doesn't create miracles on the football field or any field for that matter. It's the belief in God that inspires the participants to perform in the manner God intended them.......

If the Broncos are to go all the way, their receivers are going to have to start stepping up to the altar........

Go Broncos!

316 yards and John 3:16
Those pesky coincidences...
Plus he was 10 of 21 passing, so he had 31.6 yards per completion, and the TV rating was 31.6.

Also, check the box score.

Steelers time of possession - 31minutes, 6seconds

"For some odd reason, Christians are now persecuted throughout the world, and this will only end badly for the Christian haters, once we decide to defend ourselves."

Not according to...

Rev 13:9-10 - "Whoever has ears, let them hear. “If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword they will be killed.” This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people."

Rev 13:15 - "The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed."

I note that Tebow hatred seems to be highly correlated with being a lib. They celebrate scumb@gs, losers, degenerates, cheaters, pervs, etc. They think that is the American norm. Then they see Tebow who is none of those things and reminds people that it doesnt have to be that way and for over a century guys like Tebow WERE the norm. Tebow is a nice guy with traditional American values who makes them feel inadequate because he is a BETTER person than they are. If he can be that way what excuse do they have for being pri**s.

The best post game line I heard (wish I could remember which 'analyst' said it) was in regard to the last Pittsburgh possession where it seemed they would try to throw the long ball. The TV analyst said "Come on...they can't beat Tebow with a Hail Mary!!"
