As you know, I knew this day would come. The only question was whether it would be early enough in the primaries to make a difference, too late in the primaries, or in the general election.
But the day surely was to come when Mitt Romneys years at Bain would come under scrutiny. After all, Bain is Romneys entire claim to business experience, and business experience is Romneys primary claim to the White House.
Yet the reaction among the conservative punditry to any mention of possible trouble in the Bain narrative was met with indignation that Newt was attacking capitalism. Charles Krauthammer famously said Newt was talking like a socialist for mentioning that Bain bankrupted companies.
The hyperventilated reaction to Newts mention of Bain problems was similar to the use of the race card, it was intended to shut down the conversation. And it did for a while in Iowa, and it provided ammunition to those who didnt like Newt to begin with.
The argument that Newt was being anti-capitalist was rank hypocrisy from the get-go. While being a corporate raider if thats what Romney was, and it remains to be proven may be legal and part of capitalism, it is not necessarily the type of business experience that makes one worthy of the White House or helps electability.

I hope this doesn’t back fire. Apparently he net more jobs than lost. Please let those numbers be WRONG.
Whether it takes him out, or prepares him. better for his baby seal clubbing in the general, it’s useful
Thank You, Newt! Better now than after it’s too late.
The ineligible, lying, backstabbing RINO:
Karl Rove and I are about to prove
that ALL YOU conservatives and your stupid principles
are as irrelevant as the third moon of Kolob.
But Newt has no control over what his SuperPAC does, right? At least that is what Mittens said about his.
Krauthammer is turning out to look like a fool. And am I left with the feeling that Newt was wrong to bring up Bain? Go Newt! War is a hard fight and Romney started it.
I think that's a legitimate point of view, but the manner in which that trailor (and therefore likely the film) 'brings it up,' isn't aimed at 'scrutiny' or getting to the truth, it's wholesale, Michael Moore style leftist propoganda. I can't believe this kind of Marxist crap has found it's way into a GOP primary.

It’s proven. Willard drove a huge chunk to bankruptcy while he cashed out and personally pocketed a quarter of a billion dollars.
Nominate Willard and we lose the White House and tons of seats in the House of Reps.
If you are going down Newt...do it FIGHTING!... Don't let this phony, second-car salesman, POS, PRO-FAG life style, get away with anything... and if the establishment does not like it... SCREW THEM!
You mean like they’re gonna do to Gingrich?
Newt’s ‘I haven’t seen the film yet’ demonstrates he isn’t part of it. You’d have to ask the Andrew Breitbarts and James O’Keefe where stuff like this comes from, and how much more is to come.
I’ve been making the same point on other threads. And yet, there is a strain of conservative imbecility that causes people to lap this up just because they don’t want Romney.
I will take anyone except Romney or Huntsman, but the Bain attack - and the ad in particular - are simply dishonest.
Perhaps the cheerleaders for this on FR are the same people who think that SS is an “insurance” program with a “trust fund” and a “lockbox”.
It’s about time!!!
Two good movies address this topic:
THE COMPANY MEN and MARGIN CALL
Romney has ice water in his veins. He hates us every bit as much as Obama does.
I hate to say it but I can hardly listen to Krauthammer anymore and I use to really respect his analysis.
This thread is about Willard's chief weakness, which is why the media and the white house orchestrated the Occupy Wall Street movement.
Maybe you'd like to comment on the thread rather than be a sourpuss........
WHACK!
GO NEWT!
Borders on "The Clinton Chronicles" and makes us look a bit wacky. When an independent news source does an expose without any predetermination and follows the leads they can be good.
This seems to purposeful.
