KIEV, Ukraine The former write-in candidate for Arizona governor traveled to Ukraine looking for love. He ended up hungry and sick in a homeless shelter the victim of an Internet dating scam.
Social workers were stunned to find Cary Dolego, 53, sitting on a city street last Wednesday, behaving strangely and suffering from pneumonia.
Dolego, who ran for Arizona governor just last year, had traveled to Ukraine this spring to do research for an engineering project and look for a wife. He says he met a woman named Yulia online and, hoping to marry her, went to her hometown of Chernivtsi.

ok.... why is this kind of funny to me?
Not that he’s ill. The circumstance is what I find humorous.
When mail-order brides go postage due...
Laz, a word to the wise:
You have to find her to hit it.
Cheers!
Brings new meaning to “Buy American.”
I dunno, I still kind of like the Korean model and Filipina styling.... but I hear the Russians are rough handling. Probably a good idea to test drive and kick the tires before committing though.
lol.
... I think I just offended myself, but I’m not sure.
Do you mean circumstances such as being screwed without being screwed.
Going from being a fringe candidate for Governor to being stuck in a foreign country must really stink. Did he not buy a round trip ticket? Whats the story here?
He is a former Green Party write-in candidate for the 2010 Arizona governor’s race.
“THE”? Arizona's never had any others?
All the write-in’s together recieved 0.02% of the vote last year. Just 362 votes.
I am sure he made an impact. lol.
The Green Party candidate was Larry Gist and he recieved 16,000+ votes, slightly less than 1%.
This write-in guy didn’t even deserve a mention, lol.
His run for gov. sounds like he was trying to impress the wimmin and nothing more.
Write in candidacies are almost always a joke, except for Senator Murkowski who had mega bucks and a lot of special interests who owed her.
Whew.....
Thanks for the heads up.
As soon as my Nigerian money comes in, I was going to ‘stick it to ‘em’ and go to Russia to pick up a bride.
I didn’t realize I had so many relatives scattered around the world that just up and died and left me a bunch of money which I am obediently sitting here waiting for.
didn’t seem to impress any women... did it?
lol.
Reminds me of the posts Lowbridge used to do. Baiting the scammers. They were hilarious. He got them to do all kinds of crazy things.
Wouldn’t it have been easier and cheaper to do a M4F Craigslist search?
Ukraine is notorious for the Lugansk scams. If you’re going to meet a foreign woman, be careful. Some of them are gold-diggers and will leave you ruined!
