And why not. One major thing going for Cain is that he is not a politician. Perry is. Perry is a slick insider

We need somebody in charge who has actually run a business. Look at how Cain has rocketed to number one with the tiny amount of money he has raised to run his campaign.

Perry on the other hand has raised a tremendous amount of cash yet is currently firmly in last place. Which candidate would you say has used his money most efficiently?

I don’t know.
I haven’t seen details.

Cain hasn’t given me details either. Cain has been selling mumbo jumbo.

Lets keep our powder dry.

What is the 15.3%?

It has deductions if you make less than $500,000.

You only ignore that if you are trying to deceive people.

By these deductions do you mean that I have to keep having money that I don’t owe taken out of my paycheck and continue making what amounts to an effing interest free loan to the goddamn government????

Does he still support that taxpayers pay for illegals’ tuition?

Children of illegals aren't getting taxpayer funded tuition in Texas. If they qualify for admission into any state university, they must secure their own funding.

I will add that said illegals that qualify for instate tuition in Texas have met Texas' residency requirements, which means they have been paying taxes in Texas for a set amount of time. In the case for the child of an illegal, they must reside in Texas, therefore paying taxes, for 3 years prior to the child's high school graduation.

It’s too late to “wall off” social security. It now pays out more than it brings in. We need to eliminate the ponzi scheme, not protect it. It’s too late for “kick the can” anymore.

Not in your state.

That’s the payroll tax that Perry is not eliminating.

The tuition is NOT paid for kids of illegals. THEY pay the same rates, in-state tuition, as any 3 year Texas resident.

Thank you for posting that link. I just watched it. It was a great speech. The only pauses Rick made were for effect or to wait until the applause died.

Some of the people here who wake up at night hating and fearing Perry have a real lapse in credulity if they try to say that speech was anything but inspirational.

The pauses reminded me of the pauses that Reagan used to make ... the pause to make one’s next point more effective.

Anyway, thanks a again, it was a great speech and made some excellent points.

I reduce the amount taken out of my check to be in-line with my deductions.

If you don't know how to do this, I suggest you ask your HR or accountant.

Some people here have deluded themselves into thinking that Cain has a magic bullet, that he will be able to snap his fingers and make all their dreams come true.

It won’t be pretty when they wake up.

Hence, Perry's rockin' plan:

25-42.3-6

Now, to be fair, you need to add SC taxes to Cain's, too. So, it would be:
Perry: 25 - 42.3 - 6
Cain: 14 - 16 - 15

Still, a no-brainer.

Let us face it.
No real tax reform will ever be achieved.
This is all pissin in the wind.
The IRS has been made into a monster and no amount of will can put the beast back in the box.

Neither Cain nor Perrys plan will ever pass the house or senate.

Thanks for telling us about Rick.

Sorry, just had to get that one out.

He didn’t get to be where he is, in Texas, by being any kind of caricature...whether such distortion is handler driven, media driven, whatever driven.

He’s real. But people who will do and say anything on behalf of a different candidate have painted him as a stupid, lying, irrational, subhuman species, mechanical monstrosity who isn’t worthy of drawing another breath on this earth if there were any justice.

The tiny place, on the big land, that he comes from is real, too. I know.

Go Texas Rangers! One more game is all we need.

BTW, thanks for your post about Rick. DO NOT expect the Cain worshippers to listen.

I appreciate that you're firmly in Perry's camp. I'm not firmly in anyone’s camp yet. I'm not going to argue about this tiny little issue.

However, I will suggest there are a number of words in the English language that are available to promote a candidate's plan without having to use the exact same word that another candidate is using to describe their plan. For example:

Brave, daring, courageous, heroic, fearless, enterprising, spirited, gutsy, stout, epic, plucky, innovative, creative, inventive….

I also realize that many of these other words have more than one syllable.

I agree with the other poster who said Perry needs to drop his handlers. I believe Perry is a genuine human. But his performances don't show that at all.
