Thanks.
Doesn’t Perry’s 20% flat tax go on top of my state income tax? Doesn’t it keep the payroll tax?
He’s definitely got teleprompters.
I feel sorry for him too.
Recycling Cain’s word “bold” to describe his plan.
Is he throwing out the current tax code, or keeping it for those who choose not to use the 20% rate? Which is it?
Cain isn’t going to end South Carolina’s taxes either.
If you add it to one, add it to the other.
You can’t handle the truth.
Wise up before it’s too late and we turn this country over to Obama again.
Cain is not ready for prime time.
Does he still support that taxpayers pay for illegals’ tuition?
The other guys don’t do that when they argue against 999, so why should I?
Nosir, I’m not a big fan of 25-42.3-6.
And by the way, if I did add them to Cain’s plan, guess which plan STILL comes out ahead BY A MILE? That’s right! It would be the
14-16-15
Beats 25-42.3-6 any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Did he just propose a Social Security lock box? He wants to save the system he called a ponzi scheme?
How does Perry’s option to go with the new or stay with the old tax system get anyone who pays nothing now to switch?
Does not want to eliminate payroll taxes. He wants ‘young workers’ to be able to invest some payroll taxes in private markets.
Give Rick a break. His handlers have been working on knocking down the 3 second pause before a tough word, so the vocabulary will naturally suffer.
Did Cain copyright the word ‘bold’. Tell us what other words he’s used that cannot be used by any other candidate.
You people......
How did you come up with 42.3%?
You are also ignoring a personal deduction, mortgage deduction.
If you are making millions, the deductions won’t matter but for most of us they are significant. Not an Apples to Apples comparison.
Isn’t in-state-tuition for Illegals an entitlement program?
At least some of the Aggies at Texas A&M think so!
Petition Governor Perry to Call Special Legislative Session to End In-State Tuition for Illegal Immigrants
The Honorable Rick Perry
Office of the Governor
P.O. Box 12428
Austin, TX 78711
Dear Governor Perry:
I am deeply disappointed that Texas tax dollars are being used to subsidize the college tuition of illegal immigrants in the state of Texas. The Texas government, especially in these troubling economic times, should not be subsidizing the higher education of adults who cannot legally work in the United States.
Governor Perry, I request you to immediately call a special session of the Texas Legislature in order to end the policy of providing in-state tuition and financial aid for illegal aliens at Texas public universities.
Thousands of United States citizens are currently paying $20,000/year more than illegal immigrants to attend college in Texas; illegal immigrants are also receiving tuition waivers and state financial aid. As a candidate running for the office of President of the United States of America, I ask you to put the interests of American citizens before the interests of citizens of foreign countries, especially those foreign citizens residing in the United States illegally.
Please end this unfair policy, which harms American students and rewards criminal behavior.
Sincerely,
(SOURCE: www.aggieconservatives.org)
Hi altura!
I met and got to speak personally with your governor. He’s very likeable and gracious. He needs to drop his professional handlers FAST. He’s not the stiff, uneasy and over-rehearsed guy I’m watching now.
Raise retirement age for SS
Raise eligability age for Medicaid
Institute a progressive scale for Medicaid payments based on income.
Cut waste, fraud and abuse.
I am so fed up with politicians who want to nibble around the edges, save socialist programs and say the same things as generations before them. I’m done listening.
20+7+15.3 = 42.3
Deductions? This is supposed to be a flat tax, isn’t it?
The ponzi scheme aspect is that young workers pay into the system all the while it will not be there for them when they reach retirement age.
The retirees who are getting it now, those who already got it, and some number going forward in the near future, are the beneficiaries of the ponzi scheme. They get theirs before it runs out of money.
Not so, the young.
It still makes sense to wall off Social Security as it now exists, rather than spend it on other things. Most people thought that was the case all along, but alas, it has never been.
Sadly, I think Perry is speaking to much truth here.
Nobody wants to hear that the roof has got a hole in it, so we need to eat red beans and rice for a year in order to save money to fix the roof.
I admire Perry’s honesty, I question whether it will resonate with the masses.
It is far easier to spout slogans like 999.
Balance the budget by 2020??????
HOW ABOUT BALANCE IT NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Odumbass raised spending by over a trillion a year just like that. JUST CUT TO 2008 LEVELS.
Does anyone think we did not have enough government in 2008 and that we permanently needed A $TRILLION MORE???
