Mass Demonstrations Across Texas Demanding Marriage Equality [protest anti-gay Rick Perry]

While we've never dated a Texan, we can assume by the actions taking place across Texas tomorrow that the saying "Everything is bigger in Texas" is, indeed, true. Find out what nine different cities have in store to protest anti-gay lawmakers like Governor Rick Perry.

On Saturday, October 15, Austin, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Harlingen, Houston, Huntsville, Odessa and San Antonio will unite in the struggle for marriage equality.

From public and boisterous marches and rallies to intimate and symbolic marriage and committment ceremonies, the nine cities aim to send a message to their leaders that all families deserve equal protection and recognition.

"The doors to religious-based ceremonial weddings are wide open for same-sex couples throughout our state as more and more religious leaders are supportive of marriage equality for LGBT Texans," says Jay Morris, co-lead organizer for GetEQUAL Texas. "Unfortunately, the doors to the house of justice have been slammed in our faces, and 1,138 federal rights provided by marriage are denied to our families due to state and federal regulations like the Defense of Marriage Act. Today, we are protesting that state and federal inequality and drawing attention to the need for pro-family laws that will provide safety and protection for ALL Texas families, including the over 17,000 children being raised by same-sex couples in Texas."

Various other organizations in Texas are participating and helping to organize specific local events, including PFLAG and The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Austin.

Defense of Marriage Act "Gov. Perry believes in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman, regarding it as the linchpin of the family unit and, thus, society as a whole. In 2003, as part of his ongoing effort to prevent aggressive attempts to redefine marriage, Gov. Perry signed Senate Bill 6, the Defense of Marriage Act, specifying that Texas does not legally recognize a same-sex marriage or civil union. Two years later, Gov. Perry supported strengthening the law with a constitutional amendment, the Texas Marriage Amendment, defining marriage as the “union of one man and one woman.” It was approved by Texas voters in November 2005. "..................

Aug 28, 2011:Rick Perry pledges to support traditional marriage ""Kudos to Governor Rick Perry for making it clear: he's a marriage champion," National Organization for Marriage president Brian Brown said in a statement.

By signing the pledge, "Perry makes crystal clear that, contrary to the conventional wisdom, gay marriage is going to be even a bigger issue in 2012 than it was in 2008," Brown said, "because the difference between the GOP nominee and President (Barack) Obama is going to be large and clear."

The pledge also includes a vow to support the Defense of Marriage Act in court, appoint judges and an Attorney General who will respect "the original meaning of the Constitution," and appoint a presidential commission to investigate harassment of "traditional marriage" supporters."............

Rick Perry To Values Voter Summit: 'Pro-Life' Just A Slogan For Some "Texas Gov. Rick Perry used an appearance Friday before the Values Voter Summit, an annual gathering of more than 3,000 Christian conservatives to suggest that his chief opponent in the race for the Republican presidential nomination is a fair-weather cultural conservative.".....

On one of my awful night mare travels to the north east I saw on one car a sticker saying.
“Family values” another sticker said Pro family and then I saw the other sticker.
“Marriage equality, love comes in all ways”

On the side of the car it has yet another sticker
“it was the American flag but had rainbow colors and a peace sign where the stars go”

Seen another car with a sticker saying “Catholic for marriage equality”

Now that is an oxymoron right away, how on earth can one be Catholic and yet pro homo or not have a problem with homo’s or their agenda?
The left and homosexuals use the name game to make some think they are Christian, pro family etc, they play the victim all the time but ask them if one man should have more than one wife and they say no, don’t be stupid, that is outrageous and then go on a massive rant of saying how you blew it out of proportion, that you are hateful etc.

Of course these dopes do not see the hypocrisy they are using.

Rick Perry Touts Pro-Life Record at Values Voter Summit........“That’s why as governor I have consistently worked for pro-life legislation, policies such as parental consent for minors seeking an abortion, a ban on third tri-semester (sic) abortions, an informed consent law,” Perry added.

During his speech, Perry referenced his signing of a bill to revoke the taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business in his home state of Texas.

“I’m proud to fight for and was proud to sign a budget that defunded Planned Parenthood in Texas,” Perry said. “Our obligation is not only to protect life and bestow freedom on future generations, but it’s also to instill character.”

Perry has received an A grade from the two leading pro-life groups in Texas.

“Governor Rick Perry has always championed the pro-life cause, tirelessly advocating for the sanctity of innocent human life in numerous ways,” Texas Right to Life executive director Elizabeth Graham tells LifeNews.com.

“Governor Perry has worked alongside Texas Right to Life, helping shepherd our pro-life bills and eagerly supporting our measures,” Graham said. “As governor of Texas, he has intervened to stop anti-life legislation on a number of occasions, and he has helped clear obstacles when necessary.”.....

Whatever else one can say about Perry, you can’t say that he isn’t a staunch support of real marriage.

They're going after Perry as are the teacher unions and trial lawyers.

**********************************************

Perry's push for the sonogram bill has fortified his long-standing ties to family values and pro-life groups but it has also made him a target from other circles.

"We would aggressively work to defeat him [Perry], of course," said Terry O'Neill, president of the National Organization for Women, which describes itself as non-partisan but typically backs Democrats. Star Telegram

In Texas Schools, Perry Shuns Federal Influence ………"When Secretary of Education Arne Duncan jabbed Mr. Perry on public schools in mid-August, it was only the latest skirmish between the governor and the Obama administration since late 2009, when Mr. Perry announced that the state would not sign on to common core-curriculum standards."...

Trial lawyers prep for war on Perry America’s trial lawyers are getting ready to make the case against one of their biggest targets in years: Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Among litigators, there is no presidential candidate who inspires the same level of hatred – and fear – as Perry, an avowed opponent of the plaintiffs’ bar who has presided over several rounds of tort reform as governor.

And if Perry ends up as the Republican nominee for president, deep-pocketed trial lawyers intend to play a central role in the campaign to defeat him.

That’s a potential financial boon to a president who has unsettled trial lawyers with his own rhetorical gestures in the direction of tort reform. A general election pitting Barack Obama and Perry could turn otherwise apathetic trial lawyers into a phalanx of pro-Obama bundlers and super PAC donors. …..”

According to Drudge, Rasmussen will be releasing a poll showing Cain leading Obama in 15 minutes:

Yet, we are led to believe by the Fangirls that a semi-literate Texas governor who is polling behind Michele Bachmann in New Hampshire is the only Republican that can stop Romney and beat Obama. LOL!

These same groups will hook up with the "occupy protesters" and the other groups to march for Obama.

The Left is priming the pump.

Democrats Unveil the Weapon of the Future........."This is an extraordinary series of events, of a type that we haven't witnessed before. Even more singular is the legacy media's insistence on covering the story (with the exception of the siege of Madison, which got the standard "unions unbound" treatment) as if it were commonplace to the point of boredom. It is no such thing; it is an ideological campaign of a magnitude and breadth that we have not seen in quite some time, if ever.

What all this amounts to is the baptism of fire of what I have taken to calling the "liberal superstructure." This superstructure is the vast constellation of advocacy groups, think tanks, single-issue outfits, unions, and various other flotsam constructed by the left over the past half-century or so. There are literally thousands of these groups, ranging from the ACLU and the Sierra Club with their hundreds of thousands of members to the local "Friends of the People's Venezuela" outfit which amounts to a retired feminism professor and her six cats. These organizations are ubiquitous, universal, and networked to a fare-thee- well. They are also liberalism's last great hope of controlling politics in the United States."............

Sierra Club: Perry’s Energy Plan: Wheeze Baby Wheeze [American families have enough to worry about] "Today, Texas Governor and Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry unveiled his energy plan for America. The plan, if implemented, will poison our air and water with toxic pollutants like soot, smog, arsenic, cadmium, dioxin, lead, and formaldehyde. It would also undercut safeguards from mercury, which is a neurotoxin and is known to harm developing fetuses. “Rick Perry’s energy plan reads like a roadmap for making America’s kids sick,” said Sierra Club executive director Michael Brune. “Under this plan, we can expect to see much higher rates of asthma among children, and risk to pregnant women from mercury..."

I really like Bachmann, but I don’t think she can win. As of now I’m for Cain, but will support whoever wins the nomination. Even if it’s mittens (barf), I’ll have to vote for him over OCommie.
