Maybe they could test the technology on TSA goons to weed out the ones who steal valuables from luggage.

Will this "algorithm" include racial and ethnic profiling? If not, it is useless and worthless. -- just like TSA's selective "grope&grab" at airports.
Don't get me wrong: I don't approve of this "algorithm / database" OR this: Supremes Deciding How Close Government Can Watch You.

Stuffed shirt bureaucrats, flush with taxpayer dollars, are going to buy as many toys as they can, assemble them into a big white elephant, and then they’ll pretend they’re doing something useful —nay, something critical to national security— with it. Later, when it becomes clear that it is worthless, it will be dismantled and the HSA will find something else to lobby for. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Somehow I suspect that the algorithm will be simplified to focus only on party affiliation.

the same dhs that views returning veterans, limited-government proponents, metal=based currency proponents as potential threats, etc.
This stuff is going to be looked at in 20 years as the foundations of the legal mechanisms of a police state.

lets try it out on Congress and the President and future candidates first as a test run..we know most of them will end up being crooks or are already....

DHS is betting on algorithms: it's building a "prototype screening facility" that it hopes will use factors such as ethnicity, gender, breathing, and heart rate to "detect cues indicative of mal-intent."PC -> reality translation: "Old white guys = terrorists!"

That’s Profiling... Thought the government would not tolerate it?
If we had a real opposition party, then the Republican party would expose this. Their silence speaks volumes of how they feel about this.

It actually sounds like the same principals being used by the Israelis in their airport security screening. There, they use trained screeners that briefly interview each passenger and are trained to pick up on cues from their answers and body language that indicate they're likely up to no good.
This sounds like they're trying to develop technology to duplicate that and be idiot proof enough to be used by the politically-correct affirmative action hire union drone that's become the standard for government employees.
